This is amazing! Check this out everyone:
http://blog.gsmarena.com/samsungs-sidesync-melds-a-windows-computer-and-an-android-phone-into-one/
I cannot find where to download it though, it must not be available yet - very vague on the availability of this.
That I admit is f....ing awesome!!!.
Looks like someone has to buy the samsung notebook and rip it out lol.

I think the app is pre-installed on the S4 already? Check the Samsung Link app. I also think this is only supported for Samsung computers, but I could be mistaken.

Go to the Samsung Apps... app. You have to sign in or create an account. From there, you can go to the Samsung App store and search for Side Sync. I'm setting it up now.
Guess it's for samsung PC's only - what a rip.

I'm looking for the program for the PC now. Samsung only offers the user manual for a download on the ATIV notebooks and no programs. So far, that's the only computer I can find that has that software.

From the web page:
"To use SideSync you’ll need any Windows PC running the app and a Samsung Android phone. ATIV laptops will come with SideSync preinstalled."
...but then on the Facebook page it says:
" Hi everyone - SideSync is currently compatible with Samsung ATIV Book, Tab and One devices running Windows 8, on which it comes pre-installed and is also available via SW Update. A version compatible with older Samsung Notebooks will be available soon. The companion app for Android phones can be downloaded via Samsung Apps. We hope this helps!"
I wonder if any of these damn review sites can get ANY of the information they are spewing correct. Oh well.

I've been looking for an installer and can't find one. Samsung doesn't even have it listed for download on their site. If you can find it, please link!
I am willing to bet that they will only make the app for the Samsung older PCs available via software update for those specific PCs. It would be interesting to see if they offer the app as a stand alone, and if it works on other PCs.
Hey folks,
Have fun.
Use SideSync in any NON samsung computer
Bypassed #sidesync, found it on my Twitter do like or retweet or whatever

"The app is available through the Samsung Apps app found on your Samsung device, so go check it out. As a reminder, you will need to have a Samsung account to download it, so make sure to get one of those."
So no play store I guess and you need an account setup.

Could some one with a (Canadian) Rogers Samsung GS4 please check to see if the two apps required below are actually in the Samsung Apps:
SideSync 3.0
Phone Screen Sharing
I just bought this phone with Android 4.4.2, but I cannot find these apps under Samsung Apps.
Samsung Support is basically no help. They just insisted that they should be there. Please help.
It may be a tad early, but has anyone had any success in rooting the D803 yet?

Rooting now available for Canadian D803 models from Rogers and Bell. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448887
Do you HAVE to use this root? I am not familiar with the Android stuff. I mean, I have done it before, but that was years ago. I am seeing posts from people that have rooted with some other files I think.
I am looking for a clean KitKat os... I guess I want the same one Google would push out to a Nexus. Is this what that is?
Rooting doesn't get you official kit Kat

Installing custom ROMs will change your 'OS' on the device. Rooting allows certain root apps to have elevated privileges. If your goal is to have the official Kitkat 4.4 release, you'll have to wait for LG to release it as an update.
What exactly are you looking for in 4.4 other than the version number? LG has done a pretty good job of enhancing the stock Android interface.

Thank you for that explaination.
I am looking for the improved Google Now "OK Google" functionality. Improved Maps functionality, etc. I guess you wouldn't get that from a custom ROM. I do like the UI that LG provides. They did do a great job.
Also would have liked to get the game OFF that my provider put on it (can't uninstall it). They also have some Remote Control app on it that I can't uninstall as well. Guess I'll just wait for an official KitKat update.

The Google Now voice commands are also available on the LG and they also added LGs own voice assistant Called Genie. Try swiping up from the bottom middle of the screen and you'll see LGs voice assistance available to the left. You can select what keyword wakes it up like "LG Mobile" or "Hello Genie".
The new maps are available from the Play store in addition to other new Google functions. They appear to be separating these updated apps into downloadable add-ons that can be installed on most other devices.
I know 4.4 can't turn off Bluetooth in voice commands buy thanks to LG I can on 4.2.2

Until voice recognition becomes seamless and closer to 100% accurate it will remain mostly a gimmick. It's OK to play with for 10 minutes but currently isn't ready for most user's primary device control (both Siri and GV).

GravityBox...
Gravitybox explicitly states to NOT use with Touchwiz based ROM's.
Have you tried it with good results?
I use GravityBox for a few mods, I used to use it on my S3, and now I am using it on my S5...
I have always had TouchWiz on both.
That's all the motivation I need to give it a try, thank you so much. Some mods make me nervous lol.

No problem. Just checked on my tablet too where I know it was working a month or so ago (nothing had changed on my tablet) and it's not working either. I wonder if the beta file had an expiration date. I think koush has done that in the past with some of his releases.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Didn't work for me either. Just crashed back to the home screen on my One+ One and my Xperia Z2. I don't have either of them rooted yet so that might be the issue, or there could have been a timer in the beta as mentioned. With the airplay/dlna app for the Fire TV the developer got back to me and said the phone needs to be rooted to enable mirroring for his androidsender apk to work so I will try rooting my One+ and see how that goes. He did mention the feature is very experimental at this stage.
