[Q] Nexus 10 Stuck in bootloop - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have read the other threads who had the same issue. But their Nexus 10 was in unlocked state.
Here is what happened,
1. I updated the Android OS version, since I didnt do for long time.
2. Along with that it updated some other Apps.
3. When it rebooted, it gets stuck at "4 color circle animation"
4. I cant reset to factory settings either. never gets into factory reset screen. I think this is because it was in "locked state" (I had set a lock password).
How do I factory set, is there a way at all?

Probably no factory reset needed. What you need to do:
1. Hold vol up+down+power.
2. Select in the menu (this is the bootloader/fastboot) recovery by using the volume keys. Then press the power button.
3. Once in the recovery you need to hold both volume keys immideatly (it was something like that. If it doesnt work google a bit).
4. Choose wipe cache and confirm with the power button.
5. Select reboot and confirm with power button.
6. Cross fingers.
7. If it doesnt work you need to do a factory reset in the recovery but youll lose your data.

[Q] Motoblur reset

My mom bought a used Moto Bravo and inserted her sim in it for it to say "SIM card is removed or changed. Log in to your MOTOBLUR account to unlock". She doesn't have one and does anyone know how to bypass or erase the current one?
What you should do is a factory reset which will delete all accounts and reset settings to stock as if the phone were new (also will delete any apps you've downloaded)
1. Power the phone off
2. Once off, Press the power button and volume down keys at the same time until you see the M logo and continue holding the volume down button.
2. You should now see a little android and exclamation point, release the button... now press both volume buttons at the same
time.
3. Now you should be in a small menu, scroll down using the volume keys and select the factory reset option using the power button, confirm and let it do its thing without interrupting it.
4. Once it says its complete you should now do the same thing only wipe the cache, it might say cache partition I can't remember
5. Once that's done you can now select the option to reboot your phone. (It may take a while on this first boot up)
You should be fine after that... post if you have results or issues.
*Im not responsible if you mess your phone up.

[Q] Broken/dark screen on Nexus 4 - factory reset/wipe Nexus via USB or remotely?

I have a Nexus 4 with a broken screen - the display is dark and will not display anything. I'm going to sell the phone since I don't think it is worth buying a screen to repair it. However, the phone is completely functional and logged into my Google Account.
I've uninstalled the apps from the Google Play website, but sensitive data like Gmail, calendar, etc. cannot be wiped from Google Play. What is the best way to do a factory reset or wipe the credentials off of my phone?
Thanks for the help!
Im assuming you still have the stock recovery installed, and that the hardware buttons work. Follow these steps taken from google support:
1 If your phone is on, power it off.
2 Press and hold Volume Down, and then press and hold Power simultaneously until the device turns on. You will see the word Start with an arrow drawn around it.
3 Press Volume Down twice to designate Recovery mode.
4 Press Power to restart into Recovery mode. You will see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark.
5 While holding down Power, press Volume Up.
6 Use the volume keys to scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and press Power to select it.
7 Scroll down to "Yes - erase all user data" and press Power to select it.

Hey chromium96,
I tried doing this, but since the screen is broken, I can't get past step 5. Hardware buttons and all else works, but without the display, I can't select the wipe data/factory reset option in step #6 - from what I remember, it is a screen with a "yes" option surrounded by a bunch of "no's".
Any way to do something via USB?

Forgot that you cant see. Ok once your into recovery (after step 5), do this:
-press volume down twice (highlights factory reset)
-press power (selects factory reset)
-press volume down seven times (highlights yes from the yes/no menu)
-press power (selects yes)
Since you cant see when its done, give it around 10 minutes just to be safe. Then press the power button to reboot.

Now that i think about it, an easier way to wipe would be to unlock the bootloader using
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
Then reboot. And then if you want to lock it again you can use
Code:
fastboot oem lock

Awesome, thanks for the help. I think it worked (fingers crossed). Will change my password anyways and check on Google for unauthorized logins.

Did it work? I'm having this same problem with a new screen I just put on yesterday.

You can always perform a full wipe via adb and flash a factory image. But the suggested boot loader unlock/ lock should deliver the same results.

So, the thing is after i update my nexus 7 to JB4.3, I cannot open the settings menu at all, when i try to open the settings menu, this thing keep pop out "Unfortunately, com.android.settings has stopped". So, I tried to reset it the "HARD" way to factory settings. After I did that, everything seems normal until the I try to choose the language. Guess what? this thing pop out again, "Unfortunately, com.android.settings has stopped". Up to this point, I dont have any idea how to solve my problem. Try a factory reset..
If your tablet is on, power it off.
Press and hold Power until the device powers on, then immediately press and hold Volume Down (while still pressing Power). You will see the word Start with an arrow drawn around it.
Press Volume Down twice to designate Recovery mode.
Press Power to restart into Recovery mode. You will see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark.
While holding down Power, press Volume Up.
Use the volume keys to scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and press Power to select it.
Scroll down to "Yes - erase all user data" and press Power to select it.
Note that you will lose all apps, etc.

Did you upgrade via a OTA, stock image, or a rom download? Also, did you verify the md5 checksum?

What about fix permissions command in recovery? Along with a dalvik and cache wipe?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app

My Nexus 6P is stuck in a bootloop. It's already on the May build.

I don't know how to use the Android Debug Bridge but want to try to fix it without having to get Google involved
The first and foremost way, is by clearing the cache partition through stock recovery.
Boot into stock Android recovery:
Power down your 6P completely.
Press and hold volume down and power keys until you see the bootloader mode.
Keep tapping either the volume up/down key, until you see 'Recovery mode' as the selection. Select it by pressing the power button.
A black screen should appear, with an Android bot and exclamation mark. While on this stage, press and hold the power button, and tap the volume up key once.
You should now be in stock recovery mode.
Now, you will need to use volume keys to navigate, and power key to select 'Wipe cache partition'. Finally select 'Reboot system now'.
This may just fix your issue. If it doesn't, let me know.
Didn't fix it. What do you recommend I do now?
I'm perfectly fine with factory resetting my phone.(is that the only other option you'd recommend me do?)

Yes, the second option would be to factory reset.
That fixed it
Thanks!

Old Samsung Core Prime - Forgot PIN

First things first. This phone was never rooted, and USB Debug is not enabled. However, when I went into the phone's Recovery mode I noticed that both the Apply Update From ADB and Apply Update From External Storage are available. I'm wondering if, with either of these, I would be able to install something that will help me get my old phone back without having to do a full reset.
The only way you can remove the PIN is by erasing the entire device.
If the device has FRP enabled, i cannot help you with that. Search google for bypass methods.
First, power off the device.
After it has powered off, hold the home, volume up, anyd power button. You should boot to recovery.
Once you are in recovery, press the volume down button until you hover to "wipe data/factory reset" then select it using the power button.
Then hover to "yes" using the volume buttons and press the power button to select.
Once its erased, reboot your device, then set it up as usual.
