As far as i know, there are no unlimited mods for Note 3. There are only patches removing 5min recording. Because recording framework (including native .so libraries) uses 32bit byte counter, there is hard-limit of file size - 4GB, which is approximately 12min of 4K video recording. And it's impossible to patch.
also this is not the proper place to make a thread like this,, please read xda rules

He made false assumption about UNLIMITED 4K recording mods on Note 3. There is NO such mods (although some people call it "unlimited"). So, it's unclear what he wants actually.
He needs to re-phrase his question if he want proper answer/mod.

Why is this impossible to patch? If you can have files that are over 4gb why not be able to record I error 4gb

because 32bit counter can hold up to 4gb length. For bigger sizes you need 64bit variables. It requires source code patches for many libraries used in media recording framework. Only Samsung can do this.
I'd love to have this too, or as least 10 minutes.

As many of you know, it wasn't possible to record calls with the 2.0 and 2.1 android versions. Can someone test whether the feature is supported in the new firmware?
Thanks.

Test? How? Wouldn't you need a recorder app that was specifically coded to use the phone audio stream? If there was such an app and it didn't work for some reason in earlier versions, let me know and I'll be happy to give it a shot under Froyo, as that's functionality I'd like to have, too.

Total recall doesn't work on anything 2.0+ like Nexus One.
It's in the app description itself.
Looking for alternatives..
I would work on 720p for HD2 but before that i need some info on HD2
1. How do u substitute for the radio.img on native android phones as they play an important part in DSP
2. what camera libs do u use for liboemcamera.so and libcamera.so. Which phone are they from.
3. Are devs using the latest venc, vdec drivers in their kernel or are they using the one before froyo rolled out for nexus one. The new drivers encode faster.
these are my 3 questions for now, may ask more when i know the answer to these. I dont have a HD2 so i need either a tester or a phone to test on. I would prefer a tester.
Look forward to see your work can done soon!!
Thanks for your effort, lets keep it up!!!

Oh my! Charan Singh did excellent job for the Nexus and the HTC Dream!!! Now the 720p is definitely going to be a possibility with his involvement! Woot!
You should join htc-linux and htc-linux-chat IRC channels. The devs are about to fixs the camera and implement 720p. So please join, your help will be greatly appreciated.

720p playback is silly, why waste so much power when your screen cant cope with the resolution? besides coreplayer on android will probably play 720p mkv in a few weeks
gl chan
there are players that can play 720p mkv files but the issue is that they don't support neocore acceleration for 720p mkv and that's why they play slow. In addition, if you have all your videos as 720p mkv, then it is necessary! I don't want to mess with conversion and etc.
Tweeted a link to this thread in hopes someone knows this info. everyone should do the same please. Perhaps drop the link in htc-linux-chat on irc?

But for us, who have a wm device, but able to have Droid smooth and the possibility to have in curt future, WP7s will turn HD2 in a amazing machine in geek scene.

this commit doesnt do anything for 720p. U need the code in for 720p. Just making a config with 720p wont do. Also i need to know the camera model in HD2. If its similar to Nexus One then u guys are in for a party as i recently did a lot of research on camera.
One thing, y are u guys using msm_camera as the driver. If u guys know the camera model and have drivers for it use that. There are many devices with 5mpx camera, camera could be similar. The greatest chance of similarity is with nexus one. So try using native drivers for hardware that has to perform. U should use common drivers for stuff like flash etc but not for camera, screen etc

I don't even know if I'm allowed to start threads here since I am nowhere near being a Dev but I do love this forum and appreciate all who are out to make our Vibrants the way Samsung should have and who are living up to the Google open source standard.
If this is a waste or not allowed to be here, mods feel free to delete this thread
I've noticed that most all of Vibrants owners have modded their phones with Team Whiskey Roms and are very particular. Some also don't like reading or searching. I don't blame you when there are over 800 thank you posts and only about 50 quality helpful posts in any ROM thread.
This is why I wanted to start this thread. I went through all of the pages from the nero v4 rom and found all the posts directly from that thread that had some sort of apk or mod that many people were asking for. I must have seen atleat 20 posts alone for the "larger battery number mod"
Again, if this is unnecissary my feeling won't be hurt if a Mod wants to delete this thread.

Correct, you can record in standard low-res 720x480, but trying to record in HD is broken - that's why that camera was removed from Nero.

Some people are complaining about the sms/mms messaging, market, and other things. I for one am having no problems whatsoever(knocksonwood) but others have contributed to the thread and listed atleast the add-ons or "fixes" in the thread multiple times b/c some people don't want to read (i.e. complaining about DoW kernel when there is a disclaimer about it in the OP of the thread)
Ahh, I also have no issues, but was curious why the title made it seem like this was only for 4.0, not necessary for 4.1... thanks for the clarification. I know 4.1 took care of a lot of issues in 4... odd.

Dear all,
I know there are already many threads asking about if Atrix 4G is capable of two-way call recording, and in short the answer is no due to some firmware issue.
Well, I just flashed the official firmware by Motorola for Atrix 4G model sold in China into my AT&T model, and two-way call recording turns out to be one of the functions by default.
This is not a cooked rom, though there are some cooked roms based on this official rom that also have the same function.
I just want to let you know that ATRIX 4G can do call recording beautifully, without any compromise, even for my AT&T model.
Please kindly not to start the legal debate (or even worse) again, as I just want to share this piece of information with you, and I fully respect your view on the moral and legal implications of call recording.
I missed Dark Force and CM7, but I just need call recording fuction so badly that I have to use this official, bloated room by Motorola. Hopefully one day we can find call recording function in those wonderful cooked roms.
Interesting. Where did you find this "official" firmware?
Edit: never mind, I found it. Thanks for the info!

But the equivalent instructions and download sites in English is found right here in XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15020775&postcount=2

I would suggest you go look at the XDA post.
I haven't flashed and tested it personally yet, so please don't take my word for it.
I'd love to see this in future ROM implementations...
I wonder what's the cook's POV on this issue though...

I'm not a legal expert to make a comment on this, so if any senior member is interested in porting this feature please let me know how can I help.
I registered XDA user account to post this finding because I thought it could be useful to some Atrix users.
I bought my Atrix in the U.S. but I live in Taiwan.
The Atrix sold in Taiwan has no voice recording capability either.
Yet the Samsung Galaxy S2 and many other phones sold here does have such feature by default.
So I assume it is sometimes a decision made by the manufacturer, at least in some countries other than the U.S.
NO in the usa it is totally illegal to record a phone conversatio without the express written concent of all partys involved thus creating a lyability for people who create such software and or implement it
however personally i think it would be usefull evidence against vindictive ex wifes

Thanks for your input, and hopefully it concludes the legal side discussion in this thread.
Once again I'm totally fine with how it is in the U.S., and I assume there are Atrix users like me who live outside the U.S. as well.
There's a few apps that work fine on my SGS and not my Atrix. One of them is ANY program that allows you to listen to music with a single (mono) Bluetooth earpiece. That for instance is not an issue on my regular SGS.
Besides call recording, (and bluetooth music) I often wonder if the phone is purposely locking it out, or just bad programming on the STOCK ROM itself?...

That or its just more of HP's famous false advertising...you decide.
After searching a bit, looks like it was the same as it was with the Palm Pixi, an advertised feature that didnt exist at launch, but was later introduced in an OS update. I believe WebOS v3.04 gave support for Camera and Video Recording, Making Skype video calls possible. So it is certainty hardware capable. Id imagine as soon as any other ICS ROM gets a working camera, this one will be soon to follow.

I am not a big fan of bounty threads and will close this thread down if people start asking for any money to work on this.
However, if people would like to pledge money that they pledge to donate to a developer after the work is done...so be it.
Just don't start sending donations until you see the goal realized and send your donation directly to the developer. No middlemen or THREAD CLOSED.
OF COURSE XDA has nothing to do with these pledges, and will do nothing to ensure they paid...so user beware.
