[Q] Cracked Screen/LCD, S Pen works - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. Regrettably, my brand new N900A Note 3 fell out of my pocket while getting in my car, and subsequently run over, cracking the front glass and LCD. I've been able to determine that the screen still detects the S Pen, but does not respond to my finger. Does this mean the digitizer would need to be replaced also, or does the screen not detect my finger due to the front glass being broken?
Also, would anyone be able to recommend me somewhere to get good quality replacement parts?
Thank you very much in advance.

HTC HD2 dropped, Black Screen, but touch and whole phone works well

Hi
I've dropped my HD2. Everything is working, including touch screen, I can unlock the phone, I can answer the call, but screen is black, not broken.
What should I do? Does the lcd screen replacement will be sufficient? In that case, could the screen be ok, but some other display "processor" could be dead? I'm asking because I'll try to this on my own.
Could simply be the lcd cable has slipped slightly but probably more likely an LCD replacement needed.
You need remove rear housing & have a look & make a decision from your findings/testing.
hello
I've got a little update - lcd screen is working well - I mean it displays the image, the only malfunction is backlit. Right now when i use flashlign I can actually see whats on screen. Do you have experience or think that backlit connection can be repaired? Do You have any schematics for hd2' lcd ?
I suspect new LCD required by sounds of it. LCD can not be stripped for repair so after basic inspection of external connection replacement is only solution & not expensive due to falling cost of HD2 parts.

Broken S4 screen.. (not working) need little help.

Hi there,
I have Samsung galaxy s4. I have broken screen which is not working and it's completely dark. Am I right that I need to change digitalizer and LCD screen ?
I am looking to buy from ebay co uk, which one would be the best the genuine or other brand ?
There is many videos on youtube, is it that hard to replace on my own, as I have to take out camera etc. Is there any safety tips what should I follow ?
Thank you.
1. Yes. Where the screen has gone south you should have no issues changing out the screen. If you buy just the screen you may have difficulty removing the screen from the midframe because of the adhesive they use, but heating the broken screen with a hair dryer should loosen the adhesive. If you're purchasing a complete assembly (screen + midframe), be sure the one you get matches the device you have. With only one exception I'm aware of, you cannot mix and match midframe and motherboard.
2. ALWAYS go with a genuine part. The cheaper alternatives tend to not use gorilla glass and shatter easily.
3. Removing the motherboard is relatively easy, as long as you remove all the screws and disconnect all the connections. Perhaps the most difficult part is in getting the back frame and speaker off, as after removing the nine screws you have to separate the halves of the phone by sliding a plastic pry tool between the screen and chrome-colored bezel.

Help with broken screen

Yesterday, my note 3 made a fall from a slip in my hand, and now, there's a little crack at the top left on the screen. The screen is not turning on, and I think it is no more registering touches.
Amazingly enough, the glass protector does not have any scratch, but I can clearly see small crack in the LCD behind.
The sound is working fine.
I have already opened the case and have unplugged and re-plugged the connections, still no change.
My question: I want to confirm whether the screen and digitizer have been damaged. Any ideas/ advise on how to confirm this ?
Basically, I want to go ahead and buy a screen and digitizer replacement and perform the change, and I didnt want to invest on something which might not be needed.
Please provide your help and views guys.
Thanking you all.
Screen fixed. Camera issue
Just to post an update.
I had ordered a screen and digitizer for my N9005. Yesterday, with a rather fast shipping, it got delivered.
I carried out the swap, ie, removed all sensors, camera, vibrator, mainboard from my existing and transfer to the new screen/digitizer.
All went okay, screen, touch, all sensors, front cam.
Just that my rear (main) camera shows some artifacts on the image - on the camera screen and the photo taken. See attached.
It seems like it is showing some piece of glass fractured or scattered. Any help on how to proceed from here ?
I was trying to remove the middle plate (where the outer lens is found), so see whether this lens is broken, but as per my tests, I see that the phone refuses to power on once this plate is removed.
Info: The photo attached is when I pointed my camera to shoot over a white wall.
Any help is welcome, please.

Broken digitizer

Hi everyone,
Yesterday I checked that gorilla glass 3 is a big ****. Now I have my op2 working but with some scratches in the external screen. Touch is OK and the LCD is also OK, but I want to change it because I suppose that with a little pressure over the screen it will broke definitely. I'm looking for a digitizer replacement but I only find people changing both: LCD + Digitizer.
I've found that http://vifocal.com/lcd-digitizer-display-touch-screen-assembly-replacement-for-oneplus-2-two-smartphone.html and it is ridiculously cheap for a LCD + digitizer, so I want to be sure that for the op2 the way to change that part is completely changing the lcd and the external screen. It's that true?
Thanks.
Yes the easiest and best way fix screen issues is to change the entire combo. However if you search you will also find only front glass replacements without the LCD for a much cheaper price($3-4).....
parts4repair.com/front-glass-for-oneplus-two
....but again that requires professional tools for replacement and you need to play with loca glue while reinstalling and the process is relatively difficult and not everyone can do that.

Camera replacements won't work and screen replacement is not very sensitive

I recently had to replace my screen, which involved carrying over the wide angle and front cameras to the new frame. However, they were glued in so tightly that I broke the cables on them while taking them out, so I ordered a replacement. The replacement came and I tried to put it in, but they still won't work. Should I contact the seller (fixez.com), or is there any way I can fix it? Also, the screen replacement itself has issues with the tap, where you need to tap relatively hard for it to detect. This is not much of a problem for me since I tap hard enough for it to detect, but when my phone is on the bed, I need to tap with the full surface area of my thumb to get it to detect. Is there a way I could calibrate this or, agin, do I need to get a replacement from the seller? Thanks in advance!
