it's not that app have draining your 10% battery,it's indicated how much percent it have been on and use system resource..
that's mean the more you use the more percent it get, that's why screen percent always higher than other since you need to on the screen to use your phone

Display using the most battery power

I have the Telus Fascinate which is the same as the Tmobile Vibrant.
I notice that when checking my battery usage that the display is using a whopping 92% of the battery. Is there a fix to reduce it?
I have automatic display unchecked and display brightness to 0.
Sent from my SGH-T959D using XDA App
Nope, but then that doesn't mean the display has used up 98% of the battery the whole time the phone has been on. I could be wrong, but the way I read that info is when the phone is awake, the screen uses the most power in relation to the other listed items. I've noticed on days when I have alot of phone calls, it listed the radio instead of display as the top user.
If you want more detailed usage, I think spare parts shows full battery stats. But I use an app called Battery Left and it has access to the full battery stats.
Thanks!
I will look into both of those apps.

Actually it is.
For a average user, meaning not too much phone calls etc. Display WILL always and SHOULD always be the highest.
It just says that theres no other apps acting up.
but it is good to look at MORE detailed stats than the default one though, its not that accurate.
1 hour of display time will use approximately 20% of your battery. This is and always will be the case.

I meant that the stats where it says more than 90% of battery had been drained on display is false. As apps and other daily uses usually contributes about 35-70% of that usage.
Screen brightness doesn't have that HUGE devastation on the battery, when it's in normal percentage ofcourse.
if you're worried about your display draining the battery use the app called screen filter. works like a charm
Also, I'm not sure if this is for rooted phones only, but typing *#*#4636#*#* pulls up usage statistics like battery information and battery history. I think it gives you a better idea of what's going on with your battery.

[Q] Bad battery life

hi everyone
i have recently got my n4, had it on stock for a few days and battery life was fine then flashed Paranoid Android and the battery life was even better, the one day the battery life randomly was just terrible so i flash back to stock 4.3 and it has not improve, getting about 1 hour screen on time
any help will be much appreciated
Is the percentage dropping rapidly? And do you have all the features active like GPS, WiFi, BT, max brightness, etc?

Try going to 4.2.2 and see if that helps.
If your still having the issue, it's probably something wrong with your hardware (battery).

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping not to do that, I have flashed slim ROM now, see if this helps, do you think it could be because I stream music from cool Google play music ?
Usually bad battery (especially when it happens out of nowhere) is due to an app causing drain. There are apps that tell you what's eating battery (including the built in meter), the best of which is Better Battery Stats, which you can get for free from the XDA thread.
Sent from an N4 blessed with AOKP and sanctified by Faux123!
yup, majority of the time its an app(s). battery life mostly has to do with your setup, the apps that you chose to install, things that check for notifications in the background, and the way that you use your device. take control of your apps, and their/your setup, and your battery life should be good, no matter what rom/kernel youre on. greenify is a good app to help you get control of your apps.
Check your cord if its faulty, I had a faulty stock cord before telling me my phone was at 100% and when I unplugged it and used it, it went down to 50%
Changed cord, everything was fine.
Do you use a wireless charger? For me 90% of the time it creates a wakelock that won't allow the phone to go into deep sleep. That will hurt battery. If it releases that wakelock or I reboot my phone battery life is phenomenal.

Is my battery damaged?

is my battery damaged ? I have tried many ROMs and on all of them I'm having a very bad battery life. I have everything turned off and my brightness is 0% and the battery drains super fast. what should I do ?
1. Do factory reset
2. Exchange the phone if option 1 doesn't work...good working G2s don't perform like your phone is @ the moment

What's the problem with that exactly? (Most issues with battery life are user problems - usually a poor wipe / flash regime and using poor quality apps and heavy syncing. I assume you have used the usual wakelock detection procedures).

1% / 3mins sounds like 5 hours on battery to me. Reasonable, but not great.
Depends if you have your screen on during that time or not, and what brightness, and what tasks it is doing. If that is screen off at all, then it's horrible. If full brightness screen-on for the whole time, then it's ok.

If your phone is the international version, you have the option to buy a new battery And swap it out. I would try this since batteries are pretty cheap at the moment.
If it still drains after all these things only then do I recommend you return the phone for a new one

Install a battery monitor. Like gsam then u can see what's drainimg the battery.
Try delete google+. Giving a lot wakelocks. If u are rooted install wakelock detector and let it run 2 or 3 hours and see if its under 20%

But if it's caused by a ****ty app you downloaded, delete it right away.

Battery drain problems with my Verizon galaxy s7 edge

So I recently bought an s7 edge from Verizon and it has horrible battery life compared to other people with the same phone. I went to Verizon with this issue and all they did was give me another phone in exchange for the previous one but that did not help. Sometimes the battery drops 12 percent on standby overnight. I have found a few apps which have been draining my battery but I unfortunately cannot disable them: gear vr service, help, and knox use over 12 percent of battery each. I wish I could root the phone but no roots are out for the snapdragon version. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Can't you just use disabler pro to disable those apps

Im really amazed how people just go to lets say phone provider and say that they dont like the phone and they get a new one . In Poland I think this kind of thing just wouldnt work. Especially that at the moment this phone is sold out and i was luck to get mine so fast.

Yah I saw it before
Do you have AOD on at night? That will burn through some battery.
Those three apps are interesting. How did you determine they're using a lot of battery?
When I look at them in the application manager each one says it's used 17% of battery since the phone was fully charged (24 hours ago). But that can't be accurate. Added together, they'd use more than 50% of my battery capacity, but they don't show up as individual apps in my battery stats, and the largest user (Android System) only used 30%.
Can you post some screen captures of the battery usage screen showing the apps using data? You might also try force charging to 100%, then force closing those apps, and see if there's any impact on battery life. If not, then it might be worth trying Package Disabler Pro. But most Edge owners seem to be getting good battery life, so I don't think that should be necessary.
I am getting the same drain (S7 edge verizon). It only drains my battery at my dorm wifi and when I go home it's fine. I don't think it's a Samsung issue since my LG G3 with a 6500mah battery can't even last two days on standby.

Inaccurate battery stats

Hi all,
It seems to me the battery statistics of my phone is so inaccurate. After a full charge of 100%, and say that I've been using it for while and drain 30% of it, but in the the total battery used up in the battery stats seems rather wrong, with all usage totalling up to only about 20-25%.
Where's the rest of it. What other applications using it? What causes the drain that can't be displayed?
Do any of you experienced the same?
That's an android thing and there is no way, as far as I know, of getting around it. Almost every phone has this problem. Battery stats seem to be set up in a way that only shows percentages from apps that are either actively being used or are using up a lot a battery in the background.
Well that really sucks. Is there really no way of telling it at all?

Well other than that you could get a wakelock detector app to tell when apps are using up too much background power but other than that just killing apps that do show up in the list is one of the best ways to keep up your battery life.
As i understood it shows percentage of percentage.

I think gsam reports out of total if you have root.. So when you add up each percent category it will sum to 100%

There you go, root. I stopped with rooting quite a while back. I still recall the main reason I root was simply because I hate ads. Thankfully, adguard got that fixed. And some customizations that is possible nowadays. Besides that, it ain't all that worthy of roots anymore(IMO) , and as of late, if anything, root will take away the convenience that come with my banking app because it won't run with root.
Thanks for for reply.
