I rooted my i9505 when it was 4.3, but when the 4.4.2 update came out, I lost the root, and I left this way, unrooted...
But last friday my phone asked me to make a new software update, and I made it, it says now that it's still with 4.4.2, but the kernel and the android are from May 16...
And after this update, my phone is restarting randomly, I alreadly cleared the cache, no difference, still restarting about 5 times a day...
Other thing I noticed, is that I had the phone to ask the pattern, only 30 secs after I lock the screen, but now, after the update, no matter if I choose 5sec or 5 mins, it'll ask the pattern right after I lock the screen... (and no, the 'lock instantly with power button' is not marked)
Is anyone having the same problem? Does anyone know how to fix?

Hi guys,
I really need your help. I have a I9000T on stock gingerbread 2.3.3 :
PDA:I9000TUBJV6
PHONE: I9000TUBJV6
CSC:I9000TUUBJV6
Buld info:May 7 2011
For the last 2 days my phone has been acting weird. I leave it, for some hours without using it, and when I hit the power button, for a split second I see the home screen, but the lock pattern screen is not there then all of sudden the phone just restarts. It did that 3 times in 2 days. When I look at the battery monitoring appl, it says it is missing data. So I am guessing during this time something happens with the phone. Something crashed with the operating system or maybe an app is causing the phone to crash.
Could it be a hardware problem? I don't really want to return the phone and I figure if it is a software problem, then I can deal with it, but it is a hardware problem then I have to return it. I bought the phone on amazon and I have 3 days left for a return, full refund.
If somebody has an idea on what the problem is, or how to reproduce the problem so that I can figure is out, please please help!
reflash the phone with full stock ROM with stock kernal and see if it happens, you can even try a 2.2.1 ROm and see.
I have already a stock ROM and kernel. All my updates have been trhough Kies so far. I was planning on rooting when I started having the problem.
By the way I just did a factory reset, but somehow pictures and songs were still there. How can this happen?
I have my Nexus 4 for about 2 months now, and lately I have noticed a very annoying thing.
Whenever I lock my screen and then trying to quickly unlock it (using the power button), the screen lights up a little bit in a dark blue, stays like that for about 15-20 seconds, and only after that the lock screen shows up, allowing me to unlock the phone. This happens every time I try to unlock it after, let's say, less than 10 seconds after I locked it. If I unlock it after a longer period of sleep, no problem at all.
I have stock Android 4.2.2 and the phone is not rooted.
I have had installed GO Locker, and thought that it might cause the problem, but I uninstalled it. Unfortunately the problem persists.
I also had apps like Screen on / off, GO Switch, that were device administrators to allow them to lock the screen. I have unistalled them all, the same situation.
Can anybody tell me what is the cause and how could I fix this? It's really annoying when I need some quick information and I have to wait 20 second for the screen to unlock.
Completely stock, not rooted or bootloaded.
After my KK OTA came in I wanted to try ART for a while. Enabled it and then went through the reboot. On the Android is Upgrading screen it would get to a certain app being optimized and then freeze. I'd reboot and it would cut down the number of apps that are getting optimized until it got to just 1 of 1.
Now it just stops there and freezes after 15 seconds or so of being optimized. It won't go past that, I've spent the entire day today giving it time to sit and then try again or just let it fester frozen for anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours.
Question is, what do I do in order to reset my device in a way to past it.
Well, I have no idea how it fixed itself, I went to do a hard reset, couldn't get it go into the documented recovery mode, and then it worked.
Frustration.
HI Everyone
I've been having problems with the device within a few hours of getting it. I should have returned it to the store within the first 30 days but due to having all my apps installed and suspecting it was a software issue that would be resolved in a software update, I persisted with it.
The symptoms are that the device randomly locks up and is completely unresponsive and can't be unlocked. The only thing to do is press all four buttons and reboot it. When it locks up, the AOD is visible but the time has stopped. When I call the S7 from another handset, it does nothing and on the other handset I get a network message saying that I'm not available. Sometimes it seems to snap out of after 10 minutes, and other times I can leave it for hours and it doesn't change until I force it to reboot.
I've tried a factory reset and not installing any apps at all, everything stock except adding my Google account and connecting it to Wifi. No customisation, I've not changed the wallpaper, ringtones, nothing. But the issue persists.
Its been back to the store for a signal test due the issue being logged incorrectly as a signal issue. It passed the signal test and has had the latest firmware installed but the problem happened again today. I left the device for over an hour whilst I driving and then forced it to restart.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?
Help! my 15 month old Umi Super shut itself off (battery almost full) and now won't reboot. The Umi logo appears as normal, then goes to the pulsing android thing. and stays like that for a few minutes until the screen goes blank. I have to hold the power button for a couple of minutes to start the sequence again.
I haven't rooted it (wouldn't know how, or feel confident doing so) Only thing I've done recently was update the OS to Nougat, using the update feature on the phone, so it's completely unmolested apart from the update. Since then, I've lost the fast charge facility, and it auto-locks the screen, and won't display the clock overnight, like it used to do. And all the settings menus have radically changed (for the worse). Can't even turn off the Auto-lock feature, just set the delay.
Is the update to blame? Can I undo it and revert to Marshmallow? Can someone please help? All my contacts are in the phone memory...
Sorted!
Don't know what happened but it eventually rebooted itself. I then deleted all the recently installed apps, and it's now working again. Must have been a rogue app, but I don't know which one. Slowly and methodically worked through the setup menu and found, in the Security submenu, some settings I hadn't previously found and was able to set a safe location at home where it doesn't Autolock. I have my phone back! And I take it all back. Nougat is a big improvement on Marshmallow, once you know how it works. Happy Days!
