I have the Nexus 4 since the very beginning of it, and it used to support HD Voice.
Since sometime in the middle of JB's lifetime that feature was disabled.
I was wondering if there's any way to restore the feature, I'm currently on a rooted everything stock Nexus 4.
Thanks.
I'm also interested to restore the AMR-WB feature... Has it something to do with the Baseband or is it depending on the ROM?

Hey guys, does anyone know how to set WCDMA Only permanently so it survives reboots?
I know how to set it temporarily through *#*#4636#*#*, I'm looking for a permanent solution.
Possibly a build.prop modification, similar to the one that turns on the Network Mode menu... :silly:
I've been looking for this since I got my Galaxy nexus, nothing...

But there's gotta be a small tweak to add it to the Network Mode menu...
Devs can include it in their roms as an option. I have seen that included in the att gs3 task's rom included and it was great.

I'm not sure what file(s) get changed when you set i temporarily, but if anyone could find that out then I assume it would be easy to do via an init.d script.
when i click on the phone icon in the home screen it says , app not installed
do i need to flash a new 4.3 gapps zip?
using phone B to call my nexus4, i can hear phoneB ringing but nexus4 is all silent
in installed that nexusLTE enabler zip and the hybrid .33 baseband to get LTE back on 4.3, maybe this screwed up my phone? i can sms
Flashing LTE on Android 4.3 will not work since it is completely unsupported so you may want to change radio back to normal since that is the problem.

Hi
I am the happy owner of a Nexus 4 device but seems to have a complicated problem.
My carrier 3 mobile has a special app to forward active calls to other people at my work. I have never been able to make it work, and now my carrier says that Nexus 4 blocks that feature, despite it works for other android devices.
I have tried with the stock android version (4.2.2) and cyanogenmod 10.1.2 (also android 4.2.2) but none of these roms seems to support that feature?
Can I somehow make some adjustments to the settings (I have a rooted device), and if possible - what should I do?
Am I the only one with this wicked problem?!?!
I have a Tab 4 cellular model (T237P.05) on the Sprint network. For various reasons I would like to remove/disable/hide the stock Sprint Zone app. I have done some searching and cannot seem to find a way to do this without rooting the device. There has to be a way to get rid of this, along with the other useless apps that come with the device. Help please!!

Root your tablet and then Titanium Backup can get rid of any and all useless apps you want. That's how I did it back when my devices (Tab 4 10.1 and Galaxy S4 Active) didn't have any custom roms or much developer support.
Not trying to be a jerk. But to get rid of those useless apps that you can't just uninstall (i.e. System Apps) you need root access. Which is a lot easier and way less scary than you might think
I may give it a try. I just didn't want to run into issues with my cellular data or any hardware problems with bluetooth or wifi or the cameras, etc. I rooted an HP Touchpad to Android a few years ago so maybe this won't be as bad. Thanks!
Hello XDAers,
As we all know, most ported roms for our lovely Note 4 does not feature Wifi Calling. As of May 31, 2017, TMobile released an app called Digits out of beta. As of this posting, it is free for all TMobile customers. This app will allow you to receive phone calls on just about any device. Install it on your device that has the custom rom and connect to wifi. :The two caveats are:
1. You have to use Digits to make and receive the wifi calls. (you can unregister/register it through the app once you've finished making or receiving wifi calls)
2. It's has the potential to be a battery hog if left running(at least from the reviews I read. Haven't had time to confirm.). I'm pretty sure people have thought of this already. This is for the people who may not have.

I'm using Greenify in conjunction with it to try and tame it.
Thanks for your time. Please hit the thanks button if you found this helpful.:good:
My only problem is you need a T-Mobile log in. I pay Simple Mobile using the T-Mobile network, If I flash a stock T-Mobile rom, I have WiFi calling. But who wants to use a stock rom??

I'm running digits successfully with a couple different custom roms (both of the N7 / C9 port variety). Apocalypse-X (v7) and - darn it - can't remember the other one. Oh, Batman. Same developer @star53 on those. But I suspect it will work w/ many of these roms, esp. ones that were for Samsung phones (even though they're now ported to a different phone). Try it. Oh, and do make sure to go to settings and select wifi rather than all over data. What makes this nice is that the ported roms don't have native wifi calling support enabled. Digits should allow that.
