Hey guys, does anyone know how to set WCDMA Only permanently so it survives reboots?
I know how to set it temporarily through *#*#4636#*#*, I'm looking for a permanent solution.
Possibly a build.prop modification, similar to the one that turns on the Network Mode menu... :silly:
I've been looking for this since I got my Galaxy nexus, nothing...

But there's gotta be a small tweak to add it to the Network Mode menu...
Devs can include it in their roms as an option. I have seen that included in the att gs3 task's rom included and it was great.

I'm not sure what file(s) get changed when you set i temporarily, but if anyone could find that out then I assume it would be easy to do via an init.d script.

well.. i would love if the developers could edit some thing in power save in their roms..
wifi gets off.. immediately after the screen is off... but .. cant we modify it such that..it get delayed..
or the settings get modified in such that.. wifi gets off when screen gets off..
when their is no uploading and downloading taking place..
Wifi should never be turned off when you're connected to a wifi network. If its not already set that way in wifi settings, change it.
What he said. Wifi uses a lot less battery then 3g does.

So I got my nexus 4 about a week ago, i havent flashed any roms or anything, everything is stock.
Im having this issue where every time i want to use the internet/facebookapp/anyinternetapp i have to toggle the data on and off for it to work again otherwise my data doesnt work.
What can i do to fix this? This is extremely frustrating
What are your APN settings?

Make sure your APN protocol only has the value "ipv6". Perhaps you see this mentioned in a recent post...

Uk here.. dial *#*#4636#*#* set phone network from wcdma prefered to LTE/GSM-PRL, turn radio off then back on .. now even though they are the wrong settings it's the only way i can can decent 3G(H) speeds and not have the minute or two 3G lockups... shrugs.
I have the same issue and I'm with Tmobile. I was on stock ROM and now im rooted on xylon ROM but still data wont connect sometimes . I made new apns too. I have to toggle data or power cycle to connect

Couldn't find any similar threads, but I've found a problem which seems to be unique to our phone. If I'm trying to add a new check in location in the Facebook app it doesn't work. It simply says that the search returned no results. Everyone else I know has the option to add a new location. Even my old phone was able to. I checked on my wife's galaxy and we are using the same version of the FB app. Can anyone confirm this on their Nexus? Any solutions? I've attached a screenshot so you know what I mean.
Try resetting the app from the settings menu... Clear the cache data and everything and make sure gps is on that's all i can think of right noe

I did a complete reinstall if the app. GPS shouldn't matter, its very weird.
Bump
Anyone at all can confirm this happens to them??
This does not happen to me at all. And just as a test I was able to search and add a new place. No issues. Maybe reinstall fb.

Thanks for checking. I reinstalled twice already. Are you able to tell me your location settings?
All my settings in Facebook are checked. 1 hour sync interval. Location enabled etc. Have you checked your location settings on android itself to make sure its on.

Yeah, everything is on. Very strange
OK, so here is something weird. I turned on WiFi and it works fine, but on T-Mobile H network it gives me the "no places found". Why would that be??
I never had that issue at all even on hspa aka T-Mobile network or WiFi. I just wonder if your an isolated problem. Or it won't work via mobile to add a new place.

What's weird is that it works on WiFi. Then when I turn off WiFi it still works. But if I restart my phone it won't work again until I connect to WiFi. Annoying!
Hey,
I updated my phone about 5 days ago to the latest 4.3 and since then I've lost my 3g connection. It has been there a bit but today it's completely gone and hasn't come back.
Tried turning it on/off, switching to airplane, changing from WDCMA to GSM and running in dafe mode. Nothing works.
Does anyone know what the issue is and how to solve it?
I should point out I'm not very tech savvy and don't know all the lingo so go easy on me
Thanks!
Post a screenshot of Settings > About Phone and scroll to the bottom. Is your phone stock or rooted?
Check your APN under mobile networks. Make sure you have an APN .

I've been attempting to hack the on board hotspot. I'm referencing this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/how-to-tether-blocking-fix-t2544487
I've made the changes to the db file, replaced it and it did activate. Just couldn't make a connection. I don't have great signal in my area at this moment, so I'm on assumption that it didn't because of that. Either way, I think I messed something up too because I had to hard reset after turning it off. There is also talk of changing your APN to IPv4 from 6. I didn't get that far. I think my error was with resetting the permissions. If anyone would like to attempt this with me, please post results. If anyone needs help I'll assist in what I know. This is for NC6 to be specific.

Making second attempt tomorrow. I think I figured out my problem.
