Share: Best Rom and Kernel for Screen On Time(SOT) - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So the basis of this thread is for people to post their best combination of custom kernel and rom for their Sprint LG G2 LS980 that provides great screen on time.
So what are your best combinations?
I flashed Dorimanx Kernel v4.7 and CloudyFlex 2.3 yesterday and I am having different thoughts about it. I'm at 1:53 SOT at 78%
This is to help each other, please include what version of the kernel and rom!
Thanks!

Try stock JVT, semaphore 1.8 BM, all Samsung apps removed, acid tweaks, spb shell 3d launcher, very cool, very stable, stands out from from the usual crowd

You can try stock 2.3.5.
Another option is cyanogen mod 7.1

This thread of xda is for I9000.
The OP also have the key word I9000.
Why suggest to use ROM built for I9100?
You are not collecting ban-points, are you?

Personally I think that the best ROM he should try is: Simple Beautyone.
And one advantage, as this is ROM for HD2, based on Windows Mobile 6.5, it is even more irrelevant for him than yours...
IMHO, use MIUI as its very clean..
Then flash MyUI EnhancerMOD v3.0
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1304240
I am using it whole day today, with heavy use of wifi and 3g, battery 15% at 9pm (on single charge), and the speed is awesome.
Hi,
I have two roms I like to use:
Juwe's rom, now v6 version
Doctors rom, also v6 version.
Both rom are based on 2.3.5 JVT including Semaphone kernel 1.8.
Personally I prefer Doctors rom because it is very fast and the battery lasts for me 50-70 hours.

Kernels difference ?

Hi,
so, i'm looking for a good kernel for my N4, but... I can't really decide. I heard that franco and faux's kernel were good, but i can't see why. What's the difference between those kernels ? What's the features ? What's the difference between the stock one, and those one ?
Thanks for your answers !:good:
I'm running the matr1x kernel and I've liked it. I tried the others and this one provided the best battery life.

bricked kernel is the best!
look at this!

Sorry to bump this post, but i'm still looking for the pros and the cons of each kernel...
I didn't find any changelog or features for franco's kernel, and faux's kernel seems good... But i don't have my N4 for the moment... So i can't test them ! Thanks for your answer
Franco's kernel gets a changelog posted every time he does an update, it just isn't added to the first post. If you use his app (free version available) to download the newest kernel, the changelog is given through that as well.
I don't know how Franco compares to other kernels since i haven't tried them, but all the standard options seem to be there. Latest update added gamma control.
I believe every device reacts differently to kernels. I personally get the best battery life from Matr1x.

Best kernel for Nexus4 5.0.1 ?

Hello everyone , I want a kernel for my og. Nexus 4 , preferably a good, stable one with over clock possibilities and double tap to wake if it's possible because I want to give my phone a new life , like how was when I buyed it thanks everyone any help is well-comed !
I tried all kernels ...but non of custom kernels are good...hells doctor is quite well but not perfect..using euphoria 5.02 stock kernel..and found better than any one..
In my opinion the semaphore is the best custom kernel when taking consideration of stability, performance and battery, otherwise each stock is the most stable ofc, because of the unbreakable relations between common development of kernel and rom by developers.

Franco doesn't have dt2w.
There isn't a best kernel. You have to try kernels and see what is best for you. There are some great kernels: franco, hellscore, hellsdoctor, semaphore, matr1x, mirage, faux123, unleashed, ak, bricked, nash...
Check their threads to see if it have dt2w.

Hello, I have recently bought an LG G2 for 100€ and I love this smartphone! Im on L Stock 5.0.2 with only root and TWRP. So, what is the best kernel for battery and performance?
Or the best accoppiate for kernel+rom? Thanks! This thread will help a lot of users.

I prefer stock. For me it has best balance between stability, performance and battery.

What is the most Stable ROM?

I'm coming back to the G2 and have to admit...I'm a little rusty with Root/ROMS etc.
What would you guys recommend as the most stable ROM to use for a daily driver?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can provide!
Use cloudy 3.3 + latest dorimanx kernel

Thanks Panther.
Soon as my replacement G2 gets here I'll check it out!
Confirmed. Cloudy with Dorimanx. No reboots, no freezes. (I really know it because I'm running Macrodroid which shows every reboot in the notification bar.)
Guess this can sum up what you guys have already been saying

Cloudy G2 KK is the best ROM but low android version, Cloudy Lollipop is second best but newer android version, Cloudy Lollipop with Dorimanx Kernel is best.
Also Good ROM = Ressurection Remix but all this other ROM's which not stock got **** camera, sound and Battery life.
