Can someone please point me to best instructions on how to revert NC2 back to MJE. And how to root MJE. Thanks
Go to android development section.
Find dutchdogg54 post with the firmwares.
Download the mje rooted odin file.
Or download the mje stock unrooted file.
Extract the file.
It will not be a .md5
Place the file in the pda section within the odin application (on computer)
*side note- do not press anything other than the pda button in odin. You will destroy your phone*
Put phone in download mode.
Make sure odin sees your phone in the COM ports and then you can hit start.
It will auto reboot. And you're good to go.

As I did not post these files, you'd have to go to the source to find out. But from reading what it says in the thread, this is strictly a STOCK only version of 4.3. Unless it specifically states otherwise, I would take this to mean that this is NOT a rooted version of this stock file. Get in touch with dutchdogg54 to make sure, but I'm going to have to say no that it's not a rooted 4.3 rom.

Wrote this previously for another post, but once you flash the .tar file, you'd be pretty much as stock as stock can be:
-------------------------------
I used Odin v3.09
Downloaded the .zip file in az_biker's post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2543386
Extracted the .zip file to get the .tar file
Opened Odin.
Click the AP button.
Browsed to folder containing .tar file and clicked Start.
Sit back and let it do it's thing.
When it's done, you've updated your phone to JE

Boy that could be bad...
BUT if you get to Download mode you may be able to grab the full MK2 Odin-able .tar you should be Okay.
Please note that the sph-L720 is NOT the L720T. If you have that version and you flash this .tar you'll be hosed.

Make sure to Run Odin 'as administrator'.
From the zip just extract the .tar.md5 and place that into the PDA slot. Odin 3.09 seems to be working the best for most on this device.

You'll be stock everything - baseband(modem), kernel, recovery and ROM.
You will have the knox bootloader, so when you flash a custom recovery you'll 'trip' that. But not really a big deal. You can remove the 'Knox software(s) if you want - there are some removal scripts here in the forums. Only thing is you can't Odin back before MJA/MK2.
To root you can use CF-Autoroot or Saferoot, then use Goomanager or find a recovery zip here and install custom recovery of your choice.

Ok when i try to open the mk2 file it keeps saying the md5 hash is invalid. Ive tried 3 different odins to open it and i get the same result..
You don't open the .tar.md5 file.
You place this file - L720VPUEMK2_L720SPTEMK2_L720VPUEMK2_HOME.tar.md5 in the PDA slot.

I would try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50667360
Go to the second post in the thread. Start with step 7. You'll want to side load the update.zip through adb. To do that you'll boot into recovery and side load the update.zip file. Follow the instructions to side load only.
Edit, if that doesn't work I would Odin the mk2 files again and attempt the ota again.

Yes, that's the right file. And if odin didn't give you any errors then it flashed correctly. I'm kind of stumped right now. The nb1 update.zip you downloaded has an md5, did you check that to make sure the download was good?
EDIT, What a minute I see the problem. you need to use all 4 of the files. Put the AP file in PDA, BL in bootlaoder, CP in phone and CSC in CSC of odin.

No I ment the md5 check sum it's unique to the file and can be used to verify the file integrity. But see my edit above. That's the problem.

EDIT: It worked! thank you so much! i am now enjoying 4.2.2
So AT&T recently force pushed the I337UCUFNJ4 (4.4.4 kitkat) update from the previous 4.4.2 version, and I am not too thrilled about this. I really want to downgrade it back to 4.3 (jellybean) if possible with a root. Not sure what the best order in terms of downgrade and root is. But is it possible to downgrade it now and I know there a way to root the new pushed version (4.4.4 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...to-root-i337ucufnj4-4-4-4-11-13-2014-t2939553). Please guide me in the right direction in terms of the steps to do the downgrading.

Just so I understand what you mean (I'm a noob at this). Are these the steps I should be following?
NB1 ROOTED WITH SAFESTRAP
Can be performed from ANY base...
CLIFF NOTES...
1. Odin to NB1
2. Root with Towelroot
3. Install Safestrap recovery
FILES YOU WILL NEED...
Odin -- Odin v3.09 -- XDA thread. Download from here.
Rootable NB1 OTA -- I337UCUFNB1_Rootable_Full_Odin.rar -- from here. Thanks @muniz_ri
Towelroot v3 -- tr.apk -- from here. Thanks @geohot
Safestrap v3.72 -- Safestrap-JFLTE-3.72-kk-B01.apk -- from here. Thanks @Hashcode
STEP 1 - FLASH NB1 OTA in ODIN
on phone...
1. Power off phone
2. Boot into Download Mode
--- press and hold BOTH power and volume down buttons
--- when you see "Warning!" screen, release both buttons
--- press volume up to continue
3. Connect phone to PC via usb cable
on pc...
4. Extract .tar.md5 from Rootable NB1 OTA .rar file
5. Right click Odin and run "as administrator"
6. Click AP button and select extracted .tar.md5 file
7. Click Start
8. Phone will reboot when complete... You are now on STOCK NB1!!!
STEP 2 - ROOT AND INSTALL RECOVERY
1. Upload all files to External SDcard
2. Go into Settings > More > Security
--- check "Unknown sources"
--- uncheck "Verify apps"
3. Open My Files app, browse to tr.apk, click it, and install.
4. Open Towelroot and click make it ra1n... You are now rooted!!!
5. Open My Files app, browse to Safestrap-JFLTE-3.72-kk-B01.apk, click it, and install.
6. Open Safestrap and click Install Recovery... You now have recovery!!!
*** If you encounter issues installing the safestrap recovery... install SELinux Mode Changer from the Play Store and switch the mode to Permissive. Then try rooting or installing safestrap again. ***
You are now ready to flash a KitKat ROM. See Post 2 in the Index for list of compatible ROMs and installation instructions. Make sure to use the ATT_NC1_modules as you are on the NC1 kernel now. (In order to for Towelroot to work, the NC1 Kernel was added to the NB1 odin file. That said, the NB1 and NC1 kernels are very similar and either module should work.)

And then,

Can only be used if you are on MLD, MK2, or earlier base...
FILES YOU WILL NEED...

3. connect phone to PC via usb cable

6. click AP button and select extracted .tar.md5 file

then I followed the instructions on this post (to downgrade from 4.4.2[NB1] to 4.3.2[MK2]):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50667360&postcount=1
After that, the attached image shows the current setup I have on my phone. Is that how its supposed to be after doing the downgrade (baseband version: NB1 and build number: MK2)? Also, after using saferoot, would I be able to uninstall the regular stock apps? If so, it does not allow me to do so...
Also, Wifi and 4G/data network wasn't working after doing all those steps so I added the apn settings for my network and 4G was enabled, so that's working fine.
However I am still not able to get wifi working on my phone. I have no idea how to load the bypasslkm exploit into my phone to get the wifi working. Could someone please explain to me how exactly I can do that. I read somewhere else on the forum that it could be flashed through safestrap, however I am not sure what file can be flashed, and how to flash through safestrap. If there is any other way, please provide some details as I am doing this for the first time.
Hi. I have a NOTE 4 running ANK4 android 4.4 rooted with CWRP.
My question is: In order to flash a STOCK 5.0.1 tar from sammobile, what are the steps I need to follow?
Do I simply have to get the tar file and flash it through Odin?
Do I have to unroot/remove custom recovery first?
Do I have to factory reset and reset cache?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

hi,
your first question is correct
if you flash you will automatically lose root and recovery.. (no need to unroot and remove custom recovery..)
read my post #2 in this thread.. see link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3068738
for snapshot and more details
lastly it up to you if you want to factory reset etc.. it is not necessary
good luck
Download the file from www.samfirmware.com, make sure you have the CORRECT firmware for your SPECIFIC phone model.
While you are on the download page, there is an instruction, which I copied below:
Instructions:
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin ZIP file
Open Odin v.3.09
Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes
You don't need to root or do anything, just MAKE SURE that "Reactivation Lock" under Settings>Security is DE-ACTIVATED.
You don't necessarily have to do a Reset, but if you are having problems with force closing apps, battery drain etc... then do a Reset.
Good luck
Ok I just did that, ODIN said passed but literally nothing happened to the phone? lmao. It still shows android 4.4
