Yep, just click on 'Problems' then 'Preferences' then you'll get to the preferences menu and can change backup location etc..

Yes, I've done that, but I'm looking for the main menu, the one with update.zip creation, xml backups, and other utilities

Has anyone figured this out? I'm having this problem also.

2 years ago, and no solution? I have the same problem.

have the same issue on LOS14.1. Is this issue related to ROM or TB app version?

Wow still? I have this issue too

Desire HD RESTORE APPS & DATA

Hi guys,
I am quite new in flashing ROM's on android devices and I have doubts regarding the following:
If I backup all apps and data installed on the actual ROM, can I restore them after I flash another ROM? Especially if I go from a Sense 3.0 to a Sense 3.5 ROM...
Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
I think its ok to restore the apps but not the data. This is what I do (with titanium) and have never noticed a problem.

thanks a lot mushtafa
do you know if Titanium helps to backup/restore contacts and SMS as well?
market search titanium backup
but problem backup android 2.3.x
restore 4.03 ????
failure
If ure trying to back up and restore data, u should try using "mybackup root" in the market. U can back up ur text messages then restore it in any rom( cm7/cm9/sense). Ive been using that since I bought this phone.
Oh and u can backup other stuff with that app as well.

I always restore apps and data and have never had a problem. What you should not do is restore system apps. Everything else is fine
thanks guys for your feedback

[APP] [ROOT] PowerSim: Simulate power button - Final

Has the power button of your phone become less responsive..??
I searched a lot for an app that simulates the short press as well as long press of power button and stumbled upon this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1564174 The thread and the links provided therein helped me to create a task in tasker that simulates the power button.
So, I made a task that simulate the power button and by using tasker's App factory converted the task into an app.
This app doesn't require tasker to be installed.
This app is for:
1. Who doesn't want to remap the power button.
2. Who doesn't want to install app that eats screen space.
3. Who often uses the expanded desktop feature in Paranoid Android roms. (like me)
This app is for rooted phones only.
Installation procedure:
1. Copy the app to the sd card and install like any other app.
2. On first run it will ask to install secure settings plugin. Accept and install.
3. Run the app. You will be presented with two options Screen off & Power menu. Select your option.
4. The app will take time to load and it will try to gain superuser access. Grant it. Note that this happens only in first two runs of the app. The app will be more responsive later.
Tips:
1. If you don't like the notification toast to pop up in every run of the app use supersu. It has an option to disable the notifications.
Download:
Version 1: http://db.tt/5OvP4Z0L
Final version : http://db.tt/PwNIpFQl
Tested on:
Paranoid Android 2.52 (JB)
Oxygen GB

JDevil for his post.
Tasker app
PS: I'm not a developer.. Made this app for my convenience and thought of sharing it.
Screen shots
There is nothing to 'see' in the app, but anyways here are some screen shots. Do test and report.

Oh.. It seems that the app is removed from play store. There is an alternative to this plugin named secure settings. I'll try and use this in the next version. I still have locale execute plugin in my phone. But I'm not sure I'm allowed to mirror it. Better to wait for next version.
Made a new version using secure settings.. Please test and report.

not working for rashed rom
I try to installed it in my PAC ROM by oldroid and it works but when I changed my ROM to rashed ROM it says that app not install I also try to install it on terminal emulator and it says that "failure [installed failed missing shared library ] . Maybe that the reason why some of us failed to installed this application.
I really want this to work on my phone because my power button is almost busted. So please help us.

Unable to click install button from apk file

I am currently running the latest paranoid android Rom on my nexus 4 using Franco's milestone 2 kernel. I am having problems installing apps that I downloaded (e.g., Adobe flash update). What happens is I can see the installation screen with the different permissions, but I cannot click on the install button. It works when I install apps from the play store but not through root browser, astro, es explorer. I have tried other apks to make sure it's not just that one file. As well, I had even removed those dimmer apps like twilight and lux before installing. I also stopped the running applications and then tried installing. I'm stumped and I have no idea what to try next. Maybe there is another uncommon app that I need to uninstall before installing off my card...
If anyone has any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated.

Disable HALO if you want to install apk`s.
Geez. You know how to flash paranoid android but not how to search? This has been mentioned many times..
Disable screen filter if you by any chance using it
It happened to me yesterday and it was found it was caused by file screen.

Disable Halo, then you can install it.
If you actually looked through the PA thread, you'd see this has been answered over 50 times within the last few pages.

you can not install adobe flash from the play store, flash does not support android 4.2.2. yoy would need to install it from the adobe site list of past flash updates. same with any other app from the play store that doesnt support the nexus 4 or the right android version.
thanks

AppWidgetDisplay
Also AppWidgetDisplay for Sony Smartwatch causes such behavior.
There is another way which will always work, If you don't want to waste your time.
Just use adb to install. As shown in the post below.

[Q] Custom ROM lacking AOSP features/functionality

Hi all,
I just rooted to Carbon ROM and am able to scroll around and open applications etc, but my Home button isn't working, keyboard isn't available, gapps are missing etc. I loaded on the latest gapps (gapps/gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip) through CWR but I guess these issues are pointing to the fact it hasn't worked? I might be wrong on this, so please correct me.
My phone has 4.3 android and loaded with SuperSU v 1.65.
Please help?
Thank you

It's a Nexus 4. I figure out the issue. It was basically an incorrect gapps file, so none of the basic phone features were working. Thanks though.

[Q] Auto Call-reject .apk

I just installed the S4 Super ROM (TW)(Acheron), and I am loving it. The only thing I miss from the stock TW is the ability to add numbers to an Auto-reject list. That feature was apparently stripped from the ROM. Can someone identify which .apk does Auto Call-reject so I can find and reload it? I'd post to the dev's thread but due to less than 10 posts am blocked from doing so.
Thanks!

That is what I would like to be able to do. However, the "call rejection" option is missing. "setup call rejection messages" is at the top of the list. Is it just me? I assumed that all SuperS4 users are missing this option.
If I were to copy and replace sec.contacts.apk and or sec.phone.apk from another S4 TW rom, perhaps a stock version, would I potentially blow things up, or is that pretty safe?

I am on the deodexed but have used both versions. I have flashed both versions from my internal so can't answer that one about flashing from external. I suggest using what the op says 6.0.4.4 and kt twrp are recommended and are linked in the op.

If you keep failing to find such options to call reject you can always download a new dialer (phone) app in the playstore

Ok, so I wiped it all out and reinstalled with KT TWRP. Still no go. Can someone running 1.4 odexed check their call settings for the "call rejection" option? Thanks!
