Help First time Titanium Backup user

Hi I have a Motorola Atrix which is my first Android phone. I rooted my phone and used Titanium Backup for the first time, I did the copy all app data + system data, and it copied it all to a folder in my internal storage called TitaniumBackup, with I think 655 items in the folder. Now I then copied the folder to my external sd card. Then I ran my update rooted, and copied the "TitaniumBackup" folder back to the root of my internal storage(where it originally was) and tried to run titanium backup, but after all the red" restore" buttons there it says there is nothing to restore, in any of the restore options? So I have 2 of the same titanium backup folders, one in the root of my internal storage and one on the root of the external sd card. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be great. Thanks

First and foremost, WHY did you make a copy? Before you backup, you can select in your preferences, the folder you can backup to. Normally it's in a default setting like: mnt/sdcard/titaniumbackup. If you want to choose another folder, make it and select it, in preferences.

backing up cwm backups

Sorry for the noob question have searched but not happy with results, so,
Have backed up via cwm and want to back up the backup to pc, can i just copy and paste the backup to windows 7 pc ?, will this alter the backup in anyway ? preventing correct restore ?.:silly::silly:
thku
Yes you can.
Just put them back in the backup folder in cwm on sd-card to restore them.
It shouldn't matter that you copy and paste.
They are just files with names and must be readable.
Just don't rename them, not even the folders name.

Yes. without doing anything with the folder

[Q] CWM backup file is invisible, but space is used. What happened?

I have no idea what I did wrong, but I installed CWM Recovery on my i9505, then made a backup, and it all went fine. Now I'm trying to access the backup file to move it to my computer but even though I can enter the clockworkmod folder in the phone's internal memory, the file is not there, I can't even see it from ES File Explorer or any other way. The space was used though, because I had around 4Gb free before, and now I have only a few Mbs.
What happened?
I think I solved it, but there's definitely something wrong here.
The backup folder was in /data/media/, what's up with that? That can't be right.
I had this problem before I couldn't locate my backups because I wanted to transfer them over to my computer so I use a app call "rom manager" it locates ur backups, and u can delete ur old backups with this app also to save memory. So I deteted my backup and did it over again but to my external card and it works.
I hope I help in some way

[Q] Am I cloning my phone properly?

I am ready to switch from my 'old' xt907 to my 'new' xt907. both are on stock KK 183.46.10, rooted, unlocked, with TWRP 2710.
to have an exact carbon copy i figure i will need to :
1) copy my OS with all my hacks, exploits, tweaks, etc
2) copy all my applications with their appdata etc
to accomplish (1) i have used TWRP to create a backup of all 4 partitions.
is this enough? all i have to do is flash/recover it on the new phone?
to accomplish (2) will Titanium Backup do the job? can this even work or am i dreaming?
will i be able to also backup my Xposed framework apps?
and then what? i just copy the backups to the TiBu folder on the new phone and restore?
TIA
follow-up
how should i save my apps/appdata? do i
1) backup in TiBu and then create the system backup in TWRP and use that an i'm done? or
2) backup in TiBu and take those backup files and copy them to TiBu on the new device after it is restored with TWRP, then restore the app data with TiBu?
If you have twrp on both all I did was make a twrp back up to external SD then copy whatever I wanted from internal storage from device A.... Then restored the back up on device B... Your app data and all will be restored

[Q] Can't backup

So i have twrp recovery and just flashed a cyanogenmod. Before flashing, i did a back up on sd-card. Now, I want to restore to my original rom and twrp can't find the backup file. I looked in sd storage and there is no folder called twrp, 0 and nothing in data. Anyone can help?
I'm thinking you saved it to your sd-card which is your internal memory and not to your extsd-card which is your removable card. Maybe before flashing cm you wiped your data and erased. In your recovery you want to make sure you change the save path to extsd-card.
