How to get some free apps from GPlay without root. - Kindle Fire HDX 7" & 8.9" General

Have you ever wanted to get an awesome free app from Google Play on the HDX but you just don't have root? Well that is actually easier than you might think at first. I hope this will be useful, personally I use this trick a lot.
1.) Go to the google play store on the web and choose a free app (it only works with free apps)
2.) copy the URL and paste it in the search bar of the following website:
apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/
3.) click generate download link.
4.) choose which app you want to download the apk with.
5.) then click open file, and then hit install.
6.) Play the game!
I use this trick to download stuff that isn't on the Amazon market but is free, like the Buzz launcher and other games. I hope this helped someone, and thanks.
I think most of the xda users will know how to do similar things, but maybe there is a new guy out there who doesn't. like me half a year ago!

Good to know... I've been able to use 3rd party stores for everything I've needed so far

Cool, thanks man.Never thought of that, but I never had an advanced phone- no need. For my uses a nokia brick is good enough.

Or just sideload 1mobile market. no root needed for it to work just for the apps it cna download that need root just like normal playstore it has all the free apps that google play does. I assume its similar to those apk downloaders out there but just does it on the device and in an interface that works well and even allows searching and the like.

I believe at the moment you need sideloading, which I got by rooting with GingerBlur and then GreyBlur.

So much easier just to get sideload wondermachine and sideload amazon app store and when you download the program, you will get the security error.
Then plug up your atrix to your PC, grab the file and transfer it to your PC. Then run sideload wonder and it will put it on your atrix.
Been doing this daily and takes about 30 seconds to complete the whole process...

Much easier to just install right from the Amazon app itself. Don't need a PC.

not talking about the amazon app...but when youdownload from the amazon market, it wont install...thus the sideloadwonder machine makes that part easy.

Facebook app

I know they took it off the market and there are apk's on threads here. However I am unable to get anything to work. I have downloaded 4 versions of the app all from different links and got the same result from version 1.5.4 and below. When downloading through the stock browser it instantly fails to download the apk, and through Dolphin it will say the download completed but it is always a 708kb file that I show in my downloads afterward, when the apk's I was downloading were all actually 2+MB in size and of course the files could not be opened once downloaded. Am I going insane here or what the hell could possibly be wrong? Sorry the post got lengthy.
Download an app called Friend Me. Its better than the Facebook app.

I checked that out but there was no chat. That's really all I used the app for. I use the main site for most stuff but chat is a huge pain in the ass on there.

Android Banking

Hello!
I'm really sorry, I'm asking here because don't know where to ask.
Few months ago I've bought on the Market Android Banking app. It was pooled from the Market. Right know I can't find it seems like it is not here anymore. Tried to contact developer he is not answering too.
Who can give me advice what to do? May be somebody have last version of that app 4.5.1
Can somebody help me? Or it is not worth it?
i have no idea but alot of banks have their own apps, like chase and etc.
You can always google android banking .apk (or whatever the name of the app is) and you should be able to find it like that. Find the apk file download from phone and install. Make sure you have install from unknown sources checked in your settings. Or download apk from computer and transfer to your sd card and install from there. Hope this helps!
Edit... also mobile banking applications are proven to not be that safe so at the least make sure you also download android firewall to make your information a little more secure. Remember though android phones are known to be very easily hacked into!!!!

Maybe its just me, but I would be very skeptical of any generic "banking" app, especially one that has now been pulled from the market. I would not touch it with a 100 ft pole...

common APK files for sideloading

I know people are always looking for apk files to sideload on their KF specially Google apps. I've started a page where I have posted those common files. I'm also willing to add more upon request. Just leave a comment on the blog post page. This is for free apps only and is not meant to get around paid apps in anyway. http://androidcowboy.com/android-apk-files-download/
This is awesome!

I've downloaded and installed the Play store. When I open it, it gives me a popup informing me an account needs to be connected in order to use it. I click yes to set up my account, and the app shuts down. Any ideas?

You probably don't have Google framework installed. Use KFU (Kindle fire utility) to do that. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889 Questions welcome.
Thanks Cowboy - useful stuff
I use Android Drawer since it has mostly All Free Apps, that are essential for Android Users. Its got over 50,000+ apps, only free though, no warez. I use it all the time for sideloading when I am at Stock, and most are update as soon as updates roll up.

Hi, great thread. My daughter is getting a Kindle Fire for Christmas and I will be setting it up before the big day (well Santa obviously does that). I specifically want to add Google Play Music as I have just signed up for All Access, what additional APKs will I need to be able to sign in?

I think you'll need Google Play Services, and Google Play Framework if you're aren't rooting. Also, I am not sure but I think All Access is for Android 4.0+, but I am not sure though.

I think adaway or some other ad blocker worked without root for ads over WiFi. For some reason though none of the adblockers I've tried work over mobile data for me which is incredibly annoying since I haven't had an ad (on my phone or PC) in years pretty much.

i don't think you are familiar with installing apk's to your phone. I just want to mention that google would have solved your problem much faster . And there would be less haters around
I will explain it to you, as simple as possible.
1. Go to google and search for ad away . apk file. For example i found this link for german users: http://www.chip.de/downloads/AdAway-Android-App_56011287.html
2. Connect your Phone to your PC and move the .apk file to your phone(sdcard). Other options are using a Cloud like Dropbox etc.
3. Go to your settings -> security -> and select the option unknown source or whatever it is called in english. ( Installing from unknown source or something)
4. Go into PlayStore and load a file manager like Astro-Filemanager
5. after installing a filemanager, open it and go to the path you have moved your .apk file to... and select it
6. Press install and have fun with it
Hope i could help.

You misunderstood, Adaway was free anyway but was removed from the Play Store for some reason. It's not piracy at all.

Sorry, YOU misunderstood. Ads equals revenue for the developer, it's the tradeoff you get for free apps.

That's bs. It's our free choice, if we want to look at ads or not. Maybe we should also remove the "channel change" button from our TV remotes, so we cann not switch the channel during ads?!

The choice is watch ads on a free app, and or buy the paid version of it. Blocking ads means eventually there won't be any free apps, since the devs will be forced to charge for them all.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Not if you don't click on them, which the vast majority of people don't anyway.

Untrue. Some Devs make only one app with ads. And I'd gladly purchase a full version but there isn't one. So I have the choice of looking at stupid annoying ads or blocking them... If a Dev wants payment, offer ad free version. Which most devs do...with additional features. This is the way to do it.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
What is with the sudden hate towards ad blockers now that Google has said something about them? There is a way to block people using ad blockers from launching an app and I've only seen one Dev do it, so obviously they don't care enough about that precious 0.02 a user to take actions to stop ad blockers
