i have a problem with my note 3 and i cant find any solution.
when i put pdf files in my phone its seems that a indexservice drains all my battery very quickly.
is there any solution? because having pdf files in my note 3 is important for me.
i tried to create a .nomedia file in the folder that i have my pdfs but it was not effective
i tried to uncheck all search category from s finder and still nothing.
also when i delete all the pdfs from my phone the indexservice dissapears
please tell me a possible solution
thanks you

Indexservice should stop after read all new PDFs.
Nomedia file can't work, PDF is not a media file [emoji16]

we are talking about 20 pdf with 200-300 pages each
can i stop indexservice before reading all pdfs?
Why you not let it run once?
Indexservice should stop after scanned all new files.

hey,
just a quick question: is here a possibility to set the dropbox app that it automaticly downloads a folder to my n7? because i need access to the folder and don't always have a wifi connection.
or is there an app which does exactly that?
thanks!

Do you have tethering on your phone? This is the way I always connect my N7 and have access to my drop box. I use the thetering app on my rooted HTC EVO3D and I'm able to do what ever I want online on my N7.
I have, yes. But some files are 20+ MB, which is quite a lot to download...

You will definately will need wifi to download that big file. Sometimes on thetering will take you long for some big files. I would look into getting an OTG plug and pretty much have that file on a flash drive and just browse as you may like.

Dropsync from the play store is what u need.
There are other alternatives but this works best.

Thanks! Works like a charm!

Titanium Media Sync would also be a good alternative
and once we are here: is there such a thing for google drive as well?

foldersync
heard it works well
I'd imagine using automateit or tasker to hook up to dropbox when on Wi-Fi automatically but not sure if u can go further and automatic ally pull folder.
Don't forget about Bluetooth...it's awesome if not better than Wi-Fi for both tethering and transferring files.
Titanium media sync can also do it over lan.
Yes there are many ways now that i think of it

As title, whenever i open a youtube link in facebook it will not give me the option to open with the youtube app, just my browsers firefox, dolphin, interent.
I've updated youtube to latest version.
Anyone else have this issue? fix?

I'm experiencing the same problem as you. Clearing defaults didn't help.
Take a look at the exact link adress. Often YouTube links are posted with url shorteners like youtu.be/XXXXX. The youtube app only reacts on links to www.youtube.com, so for the system this looks like a normal url, and it only shows the browsers.

Man I've been trying to fix this for a week now. Glad in stumbled upon this thread. Thanks for the insight. Makes sense but is obviously pretty stupid!!!
Is there a workaround for this? Anyway to get the youtube app to recognize the different url form? Or do we need to wait for a new youtube app version to come out?
same problem here waiting for fix

Hi all.
I have something strange going on with a phone.
It does not hold on to the default settings i set for apps for apps to open.
Chrome, YouTube app, launcher and some other apps are set to be used as default to be used when needed.
So for instance if i open a YouTube link in chrome, it opens YouTube app because the first time it asked, i set it as default app to open.
Or the launcher. I set Nova launcher as my default launcher. So the device does not ask what launcher to use anymore. Touchwiz or Nova.
The S4 holds on to the settings until the device is reboots.
After reboot all settings are gone and i again have to choose what app i would like to use as default.
I have had different Omega roms installed (about six), switched recoveries but the problem is still current.
I installed the same roms on three S4 phones and two of them always work nicely.
Only the one S4 phone does not hold on the apps i set to open as default. So i dont think its rom related.
The battery of that phone is new. So i don't think it is the battery.
Also the reboot is done normally. So i don't pull the battery.
What could it be why the phone does not hold on to the settings??
Is there some battery on the phone that has to hold on memory when power is off??
I hope to hear from you guys.
Thanks
To bad. No tips or tricks for this problem

Hi Folks,
When i take pictures with the Google Camera in Portrait-Mode the pictures saved with 90° on the Leftside. The Gallery, Sammy and Google, show them correct. But when i share them or look into it with ES-Explorer they are turned.
Normally no Problem but wgen i share it e.g. with Hangouts its annoing.
Could it be a Problem with Xposed?
Listening to your answers.
Thanks

You need to be rooted for it to work
Sent from my SM-N910C using Tapatalk
Greenify works for non rooted phones as well. Just not automatically, you have to manually hibernate each app, also rehibernate after opening an app. There's a setting on the phone to choose and make it easier to do.
EDIT:.. Settings >accessories >greenify

You don't need root.
You can also use automatic hibernate!!!
With root, you will have more options.
But....
Installing will mute voice feedback in s-voice and your calculator will talk to you on every input
It's a bug.

you can use automatic configuration without using passcode or finger scanner for your lockscreen, once you close your phone it will automatically click the apps you configure without pressing the app.
Thanks. I jave a lockscreen pin because of the exchange email.
Got greenify on my new note 4 rooted but the apps dont show up at greenify to hibernate.. have a s4 and the apps like facebook and so on are there to choose hibernate or not.. but in the note 4 this doesnt happen , can you guys help?
I used greenifly ..but found no difference in battery life .
In fact, I tried it twice as the reviews are excellent.
There's many debates as to whether or not these apps help battery or not.. Some forums claim that it constantly has to work to close and stop apps running ? therefor does more harm than good ..my phone ? is not rooted
In my s4 it does a good work at the battery...but now in my note 4 it doesnt shiw all the apps like facebook and other social battery leechers.. don't know why because there are users that claim that they are using fine and working good with greenify.
