Hello,
My S5 is SM-G900H from Ukraine.
I am trying to enter Settings menu, but I can't...
I am long pressing on left touch button, but it turns on the: "Wallpapers\Widgets\Home screen settings"
How can I enter settings menu page then ? (besides entering the settings app directly)
Thank you
Please help
Pull down the notification menu from the top. There is a configuration menu icon on the upper right corner (wheel-shaped icon).
I am trying to get in to the settings menu via the left touch button
You can't access it that way. It has changed from the S4. Swipe from the top

only way is to root your device and install gravity box (xposed) and reassign the key
I also hate the new button change, that's why I rooted my phone
What rooting will add my phone ?

I have flashed the Dorimanx's new ROM and seen the soft key at the left top conner.
Link to Dorimanx's new ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166948
How can I accomplish this for other ROMs? An App? or some Setting?
Thanks in advance.
You can try Button Savior, you can find it in the Android Market but you have to be rooted to use it. The app puts a icon on your screen that stays on top of everything. You touch the icon and it opens up more buttons on your screen that will stay for the amount of time you select or permenently if you choose. It gives you a exit button a plus button ( this expands to more buttons being a phone, camera, and search buttons), a menu button, a home button, and a lock screen button. I used it all the time as it really saves wear and tear on your external hardware buttons and it is so easy to use and always available on your screen.
thanks for the quick reply. i ll give it a try
If the "other" rom is based on CM7, you can simply enable a setting in (Settings > CM7 Settings > Tablet Tweeks > Enable Soft Keys & set your own)
Otherwise, follow the post above yours
thats exactly i am looking for
As stated, i have just installed leedroid's 4.0 ROM and somehow when i long press the top left hard key, the power boot option wont come out. (The key is still usable as i can lock and unlock the screen). This shouldnt be one of the bugs of the new ROM right? Anyone can help me with this problem?
PS: i cant post in the development sections so i thought i could seek some help here
Try "use secure credentials" from menu ---> settings ---> privacy
This fixes this issue on ARHD 6.1.0

Almost right. Try menu ---> settings ---> security. You'll find an option in there called 'Use secure credentials'. Tick the box and input a password of your choosing. You should then have access to the power menu.
Note that your ROM may support screenshots, where the holding the power button and tapping home takes a screenshot. If it does, then you'll need to hold down the power button for longer for the menu to appear. (Basically, the phone is waiting to see if you're going to press the home button before it initiates the power menu.)
Hope that helps

Hi everyone, I'm running the current version of the ARHD rom and I'm having the same problem as this. I attempted the solutions above but the power menu does not seem to come on. Any suggestions?

Maybe there is no this func, but I saw on the demo in youtube that there should be a possibility to customize hardware buttons behavior. Also should be possible to enable swipe on Home button.
If you type in search box in General Settings keyword "camera" it will show you that there should be some settings in Buttons, to set behavior. But if you press on context link - it shows button menu but very limited.
Do you have one?
Thanks

If I'm not wrong swipe on Home is available on ZUI home, not Cyanogen OS.
On Buttons menu you can set home long press action, home doube tap action (doesn't work on latest update).
I personally use "All In One Gestures" app to configure buttons

Thanks a lot. I will try!
The reason is I would like to set a camera on double tap action and cannot find how to do it by default.

In Settings -> About Phone turn on Advanced mode. Then you can configure buttons. I have it set up just as you'd like it, double tap for camera, works perfectly for me with latest update.
