Maybe there is no this func, but I saw on the demo in youtube that there should be a possibility to customize hardware buttons behavior. Also should be possible to enable swipe on Home button.
If you type in search box in General Settings keyword "camera" it will show you that there should be some settings in Buttons, to set behavior. But if you press on context link - it shows button menu but very limited.
Do you have one?
Thanks

If I'm not wrong swipe on Home is available on ZUI home, not Cyanogen OS.
On Buttons menu you can set home long press action, home doube tap action (doesn't work on latest update).
I personally use "All In One Gestures" app to configure buttons

Thanks a lot. I will try!
The reason is I would like to set a camera on double tap action and cannot find how to do it by default.

In Settings -> About Phone turn on Advanced mode. Then you can configure buttons. I have it set up just as you'd like it, double tap for camera, works perfectly for me with latest update.

Hello everyone!
Saw the S5 announcement few days ago and noticed the changes made to the button layout. I'd like to know if there's a way to remap the menu button to work as a recent apps button. And better yet if it's possible to assign the "menu" function to a long press. I've searched Google but all the alternatives I see are for HTC phones or for onscreen buttons.
Thanks in advance!

Look for an app called 'Xposed Additions'. It will do both the things you want.
Installed it. Tried to configure the remapping but it's not doing anything. I hit the "remap" and a window pops up that says key code and it appears that it's waiting for some input, I hit a button but nothing happens.

Forget it, just nailed it. Reinstalled, rebooted and all is working as I want to. Thank you!

Xposed Addition doesnt support KK.
Is there another way for this other than Gravity Box for TW Kitkat?

How about MenuBeGone, I'm running this on my 4.4.2 SM-N9005
And it got option to select apps that you don't want to have overflow button on them (like on Action Memo that 3-dot menu replaces delete -button, so you can't delete any memos.. but where do you need menu at all on Action Memo, so just uncheck it on MBC and you're good)
Edit: And it also can remap long press on menu button to show menu (while menu button is remapped to open recent apps)

Which build are you on? (also towelrooted?)
So you remapped menu button=recent and long press=menu. (like on the S5?)
I dont get what you mean with the Action memo though. But from the Description of the App I can tell that youre talking about the Whitelisting?
Thanks.

Yes, some apps get "broken" look when 3-dot menu is enabled on them (like contacts) and yes, long press on "settings" button opens menu, while short opens recent tasks.
About Action Memo see screenshot: menu button "hides" detelete if not whitelisted from MBC
Edit: to make it clear, that module enables "3-dot menu button" on all applications by default. From module settings you can disable that button on selected apps. That module also sets devices settings button to open recent tasks and long press to open settings (so by long pressing you can reach menu also on apps you have disabled to use 3-dot menu)

I got it, thanks. Tried out and its working fine. In Nova launcher the Menu button blinks a lot though - on long press.
There is a certain delay. But I think i will try xposed additions some time later but for now its fine i guess
Thank you!
Does anyone have any good recommendations for apps that can limit the number of notification sounds that your phone can create within a certain time-frame? There was a great Xposed module [less frequent notifications] that could do this on a rooted device and I find myself missing that feature a lot on my un-rootable S7 .
Also looking for an app that will let me customize what the home, back, and recent buttons can do.

Thanks for the suggestion. It has quite a few options, but it looks like it is missing the ability to customize a 'double tap' press on any of the buttons. I wasn't able to find a 'last app' action either. My ideal set-up would be:
Home
single press - home
double press - camera
long press - google Now on tap
Recents
single press - recents
double press - do nothing
long press - google search
Back
single press - back
double press - last app
long press - kill app
edit: realize I can do without the double press and could move the 'last app' action, if available, to the recent apps long press.
bump
I have an old app that I really like but it doesn't have the hamburger (three lines) menu button. The Axon 7 doesn't have a menu button. I've tried long pressing the recent apps and the back buttons but it doesn't work. Is there any way to emulate the old android menu button on the Axon 7?
thanks,
just use mi-pop buttons for this

NICE! Excellent work around. Is there an easier way of turning mi-pop on/off other than going into the phone settings?
Thanks

There is a MI-POP Toggle in the notification pull down.
imo the context menu should be the default action instead of recent apps, while recent apps should be a long-press action on the context menu button :/

in the notifications when you swipe down from the top? I only see "wifi, data 1, data 2, silent, gps" there is a settings button that i can tap, then tap "all settings" and get into the phone settings. were you able to add mi-pop to those notifications?

Swipe down again after you see the notification shade. First swipe down only shows the first row of quick setting toggles. Second swipe brings the rest (and where you can edit the order)

Except that would be against Android standards. And any app that's been updated in the past 3-4 years to modern standards wouldn't have the problem. Some OEMs use a long press on the recent apps to do the old menu, but with Nougat, that's used for multiwindow now. I'm just glad there is still a way to access it, as I need an app that is old enough to need it.
Hi guys, all i want is that i wanna single tap to menu button and get recent apps and most importantly i wanna get the menu when i longpress the menu button. How can i do that? I mean normally
Hardware menu button's functions on galaxy s4 is
SINGLE PRESS ---> MENU
LONG PRESS ----> GOOGLE SEARCH
i wanna change it to
SINGLE PRESS ----> RECENT APPS
LONG PRESS -----> MENU
i've checked the possible solutions on forum even downloaded "all in one gestures" app though it did just change single press to recent apps but couldn't change long press to menu because there is no such option called "menu" on the list to assign to long press, i can send screenshots if need to and the app is up to date is downloaded from play store
So i need your help, thanks by now

There is, you didn't see it or you have a different app.
The menu action requires root.

I can't find a "Menu" option.
I use "Buttons remapper". It's definitely able to assign menu to long press.

Okay, the problem is solved, thanks!! :good:
What does "Menu button" option do if check or uncheck the box?
Settled in Settings-->Phone-->Display, gestures & buttons-->Buttons-->"Menu button (check box)"
TNX
When checked it adds an on screen floating menu button in legacy apps that don't already provide an on screen menu button.
It is essentially an option for backwards compatibility with apps designed for the era of Android devices they had physical menu buttons.
Tnx a lot!
Just one more question:
- How to lock one (or many) apps in Recent Apps? When i click Clear All that app not to clear and stay always active?
I need that but i dont know a sollution
