Hey folks, I created this thread just to separate this version of 4.4.4 which can't update to Lollipop using the current OTA file outhere. So I ask if someone which have this version receive the update to try to capture and share with the people.
Currently the only way to downgrade as I understand is downgrade the firmware to the KXB21.85.23 but for this you need to unlock bootloader, which will make you loose your warranty. So for people like me stuck with this version please you this thread to don't generate more doubts in the other threads. If you have other ways to downgrade without unlocking bootloader please share!
Best regards!:good:
same here stuck at .27
Is there any overview which software Version Runs on which xt106x hardwareversion and on which Country Variant?
There were that much discussions of Different version combinations that i am probably not the only one who has lost the overview..?
This KitKat version was never an official OTA. So you can't upgrade from this version. Officialy you can't have it. Downgrade to .23 and you'll be fine!
Edit:
About loosing your warranty: you've installed the .27 update with een unlocked bootloader. So your warranty was already void. Relocking your bootloader brought it to 'Status 2' meaning you had it unlocked in the past. Never unlocked is 'status 0'. You never will get your warranty back by relocking it.
I tried it not working

That's what I said! It was impossible to instal .27 without a locked bootloader, downgrading with a locked bootloader is also impossible!

OK, possible... Where did you buy your phone and, more important, what is the bootloader status? If the bootloader status is 0, then you're right and I am wrong. If it's 2, then your bootloader has been unlocked in the past!

Bought new from Fnac in Portugal on Dec. the 16th. How do I check the bootloader status?
Please note that i'm not a devoloper, so I don't know this things deeply, but I do know what is an OTA, factory images, root...etc, meaning I Know that I haven't unlocked or rooted the smartphone.... that's why I'm telling that .27 is official, probably came preinstaled in the latest batch for EMEA region.

Okay, my bad then! I was wrongly informed! So just wait and the lollipop OTA should be released in a while!
Send from my XT1068 using Tapatalk.
The main difference in this version is coming with more languages support, as I said we are stuck in this version and of course I'm not thinking in unlocking the bootloader because in case of something goes wrong in the phone I could have the luck of Amazon trade for another new or sent to Motorola and there I'am screwed ...
If someone Find anyway possible without have to unlock the bootloader fire it out!
same here...i guess we have to wait.
Actually 27 is an incremental update. Motorola has updated Moto G 2014 software page with the details.
Google launcher was update and some minor improvements.
My one was bought 2 weeks ago in Poland.
And 27 was preinstalled.
well, im in the same boat,
was using the xt 1063 version lollipop then migrated back to 4.4 stock
stuck on .24 titan retbr ds retbr en br oi br
So with the news of today saying will roll out the new update for lollipop any one if have this version and bootloader unlocked can make a favor of post here the file for this Version?

Humm... i think the official OVA that was released today it's only for version .23 (Brazil, India and US) and probably the same version of soak tests, but we will see
24/01 and still no OTA update for my xt1068 in France (phone bought on amazon, having a reteu firmware)

Hello all! I know that on NK2 and lower there's been the ability to downgrade and upgrade firmware using Odin. However, with the Lollipop update coming soon is it possible that that could be fixed and the bootloader could be updated to fix that? Also, is it possible that (if it is a bootloader update that would fix that) that there would be an exploit left in there for the bootloader to be unlocked, and if there is what are the odds of someone finding the exploit?
With every update has come tighter and harder to crack security. Right now the chances of the bootloader being unlocked are slim to none. With the lollipop update, I would think those chances would fall to below zero and into the negative probability.

With Lollipop any phones that are in proximity to your Samsung device will have their boot loaders locked as well.

being able to downgrade firmware isnt asomething they might "fix" since it is not something broken, it was meant to be that way.. now them making L to where it is not downgradeable is very likely since it will be a whole new OS/Firmware than 4.4.x with a slightly new file structure/runtime.
I think its time to realise that the S5 will NOT have an unlocked bootloader and if it does it will not happen until weve most likely moved on to other devices. The only hope for an unlock is if a dev working on the Note 4 or another ddvice find an exploit that also works on our S5 since I havent heard any devs still working on it with our device.
I believe root will be possible on L if you are patient and dont take the OTA and wait for a dev to push a L rom.zip and odin firmware. (Theres no reason I can think of as to why this would not work as it always has)
I have bought verison Droid razor m already on kitkat 183.46.15 and now I want to unlock its bootloader.
I have searched a lot but didnt find any thing but bricked it three times. please help me with complete process My phone is rooted.
Thanx
any developer here can't wait now
See this post.
"If your kernel date is June 3rd or later, you cannot unlock your bootloader."
There's a link in that post that will tell you how to determine the date of the kernel.
See the first post in the first Sticky in the General section: If you have firmware 182/183.46.15, there is currently no way to unlock your bootloader.

Annoying my kernal build date is july 29th with a locke bootloader my phone is usless Developers please do something find a way
You don't need developers, you need security professionals.
Motorola has had the hardest bootloaders to exploit. In fact, Dan Rosenberg was the first to unlock moto bootloaders starting with the Droid Razr M/HD & Atrix HD.
The exploit he used was quickly patched by Motorola on the 2nd Jellybean firmware. So the users that were unlucky and missed the Motopocalypse exploit were S.O.L. for a very long time.
When KitKat finally came out, it was discovered that Motorola forgot to include the TZ patch (with the first .10 firmware) which allowed for Motopocalypse to work again . When discovered, Moto quickly patched and pushed the second build of .10 and finally closing it off with the last .15 firmware.
At this point Razr M users are really lucky to even have root, and I doubt anybody is working on, or planning to work on, a bootloader unlock exploit for this aging device.

There was one root process that changed the kernel date to may something for a couple days. I never thought about it. But seems how I'll be unbrick in my phone and rerooting with the same method I'll be giving it a go this time to double check if it's possible by any means and will post the results for everyone later today
Like I promised. I used hydrogen to root. Re ran it after it rebooted the first time it changed the kernel back to July 29th and this time since I was rooted I didn't reboot. Now trying to figure out how to keep the kernel this time

There's no need for crossposting, I gave you an answer in the relock bootloader thread.
And opening a new thread didn't help either.
Your on January security patch and you need that firmware to flash or relock your bootloader.
This firmware isn't uploaded anywhere, only the indian build. So stop asking the same question over and over again, YOU CAN'T DOWNGRADE YOUR BOOTLOADER, IT WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE.
So you have to live with an unlocked bl and as I posted to you, there's no need to relock it as you never get the status of 'this device has never been unlocked'. Btw, you never posted the reason why you want to do that.
Anyway, you have to wait until someone uploads your firmware or a newer one.

Wondering if it will work fine using the local upgrade feature.
MIUI 12 China Beta ROM? I don't think so...
I think it requires unlocked bootloader. (maybe I'm wrong...)

Okay, thanks for the info
You can't. The current beta release is only intended for use in China and as such you cant flash it through the System Updater. The only way to flash it outside china is through TWRP for which you'll need to unlock the bootloader.
Also I'll suggest never to try flashing anything apart from the official OTAs if your bootloader is locked. Because if something gets messed up with a locked bootloader, you'll end up with a hard brick which can be a real pain to fix. Might even end up having to go through all the EDL and Authorized Accounts mess. Once you unlock the bootloader, its fine.
