Go system settings>more>application manager and then scroll through every app. Open the applications and delete their cache - especially gmail/email, facebook, internet, google play services, playstore, gallery etc then reboot and see if things work.
Sometimes you'll have to delete not only the Cache but the 'Data' too in Google Playstore and services (both). If you do this you'll be required to login next time you open playstore, that is all.
Also you could could, if you have a custom recovery, boot into recovery mode and delete the cache there too.

That worked for me thanks. I cleared the cache for the suggested apps and rebooted email immediately worked and could install apps again.

A faster way to clear cache is settings > more > storage > cache

I screwed up. My impatience to get my tablet setup again after wiping and putting cm on got the best of me. I typically just use titanium backup for game saves and launcher settings, the rest I do manually from the play store. Today I got impatient, half way through setting up I said screw it, restored everything that wasn't in red. And somehow, I permanently broke swiftkey tablet. It wouldn't load language packs anymore, so I uninstalled and reinstalled. Now it says network error constantly and refuses to download the app. Do I need to wipe and start over or is this fixable? Thanks

Fix for the SwiftKey problem
Hi,
Try to uninstall the software the manual way.
Delete every folder of SwiftKey.
After that go to System properties / keyboard/kanguage and activate standard keyboard. (android default)
Reboot your device.
Install Swiftkey the usual way (via Playstore)
Ok will do. Btw my original post is wrong, I came from cm, now on stock 4.3.

May not be you.
Had the same problem with SwiftKey when I flashed 4.3.
Fresh install, or restored from TiBu, same problem downloading English package.
Due to other issues I went back to 4.2.2 for now.
Nah it was me, I had swiftkey working fine but being impatient I said screw it, restored everything not highlighted in red.
I just reinstalled the rom and did a factory reset, it's for the best, gotta be careful with tb, I know this from experience

Ok so you might be right. I was able to set up SwiftKey to work fine once but now even a full wipe of system didn't fix the issue. Something is messed up on their servers

Well I've tried it all now except wiping the sd partition. Sigh. Guess I gotta use terrible google keyboard

Hey guys. I tried searching about but can't seem to find anyone with a similar problem. After updating my phone to 4.3, the stock Gallery app has been misbehaving. All the thumbnails show up as grey and full image viewing also shows grey. I know the pictures aren't corrupted because other apps can view the images fine. Even when taking new photos, the new pictures also show up grey in the Gallery (also in the stock camera app since it's tied to the stock Gallery app). I've tried wiping cache and data for the Gallery app to no avail. Anyone has any idea?
Here is a screenshot of the problem.

Delete everything in /sdcard/Android/data/com.google.android.gallery3d.
Wipe data for Gallery app.
Profit.
Edit:
Right, if it comes up need permission error, read this: https://plus.google.com/app/basic/stream/z130i1nx3qzrc12ey23wcdp55terwvove
the last part "Fixing internal storage issues" is what you need to do.
Thank you! Turned out the permission really was the problem. Clearing cache wasn't working since I didn't even have permission to edit the cache.

Just thought I'd add a little to this, I flashed my father's Galaxy Nexus with the 4.3 yakju image, except for the user data partition, keeping his 4.2.2 one from a nandroid backup. (The phone was back from warranty with a new screen, on an outdated yakjuux ROM i.e. the factory authorized repair centre didn't even bother writing the current yakjuux build. Plus I found the whole 4.3 image first, so didn't bother with the OTA.)
He encountered the missing pictures issue, new images and video not even saving. The busybox chown -R 1023.1023 /data/media/* Chainfire suggests fixed it.
I thought there might have been something in the OTA script taking care of this, but can't find it after checking... I'll assume the 4.3 blank user data partition does too. Strange.
Hi I ran into this issue before but I forget how I fixed it. I thought it was from not having enough free space on internal/external SD cards but I cleaned it up a little and it didn't seem to fix it. I also tried force closing, clearing data/cache for app, uninstalling, reinstalled it, and activated as a device administrator successfully but it doesn't open/work with Tasker.

I had problems with SS when I was using the helper app. But after using Helper Alternative under the SS Helper Tab everything works as it should. I believe it installed SS as a system app so you don't need the Helper app.

Thanks for the response! It's fixed now by using ROM Toolbox Pro's app manager to convert it to a system app and then had to restart the phone
Had to do it before after restoring from a backup and it just slipped my mind
No need to use Ron Toolbox. Just go to the SS app, go to the helper tab and click Alternative Helper. SS will do the rest.

Yeah but Secure Settings couldn't even launch...when selecting it via app drawer it just flashed/disappeared right back to the home screen with the crash notification

Oh! Missed that part. Let us know if installing it as system app works then.
Edit: See that it solved it. Good
I tried all the above solutions and still not fixed, Secure Settings keeps crashing before start.
Running LG G3 d855 32GB on cm 12.1 , any idea?
Hello
It was suggested on another forum to alleviate audio video sync issues across multiple apps you should wipe your system cache. I am running lollipop 5.0.2 rooted.
Anyways I did the system cache clear through recovery and when I rebooted my phone the sprint screen hung for a minute then a black screen appeared followed by numerous prompts stating that various services were stopped.
I keep pressing okay to each prompt and another one follows. It seems like the service / app is trying to start but cannot. I am left with a black screen that continues to pop up these dead services.
Has anyone experienced this? I thought a system cache clear was harmless. What can I do so I do not lose my data.
Please help I need this stupid thing for work.
Thank you

Have you tried doing it again? Was it in stock recovery? What option did you press? Video lag fix is in my OD2 mods thread in Themes & Apps.

Hi
This problem happened to me with Android N Resurrection Remix and it is happening now with Stock Oreo.
I download files, like podcasts using podcast addict, or other files in the download folder, and some of them just dissappear. I can't find them with my browser 7z neither with my players. Sometimes, using a different browser they appear again, other times not. If I reboot they are there again.
I don't know if it is related, but the system generates 2 download folders, both with the same files, but not duplicating the used space.

What is your default download app... Chrome? If another app, maybe that is the culprit. You may have at one time (in Podcast Addict) defined the download folder. Maybe you can change this setting within the app to the Google Default. You may have to reset your default browser app under Settings >>Apps & notifications>>Advanced>>Default Apps. You may also want to try wiping the cache partition from Recovery.

Thank you. I am trying that. I had on podcast addict and tubemate "download" folder. And the default folder in Chrome, etc seems to be "Download". I have change podcast addict, etc, to "Download".
By now it's working
