[App] MIUI Camera for Desire (19.Jan.2011)

I found this Camera in this thread
I've tested it on tiny-ICS.
It's nice, small and has a lot more Options than stock Camera.

Flash the zip file from recovery.
Consider, that the MIUI-Camera removes your stock Camera.
Download the Original_ICS_Camera too, to flas the stock one again if you don't like MIUI-Camera.
If you're not on ICS, extract the Camera.apk from your Rom and replace it with the one in the Original_ICS_Camera.zip.
Don't extract and repack this zip file!
Just open it, go to /system/app and use drag and drop.
Enjoy!

tried it but it makes my device reboot when I close the app and sometimes also with app running.

i kinda missed the coloreffect(negative etc) from my old sonyericsson cam phones
but now i got em all on my droid!

thank you. I will try with wildmild 2.9.5 (hope it's working!)

This camera app is faster than stock aosp camera, but dont have a white balance settings. Shame.

Clicking on Settings made my phone Reboot. And the "Silence" option does not work.

I try this camera - I don't like. So delete. I prefer stock Camera. And I think, the best is sense camera.

Can this cam be installed on sense rom? (runny rom 5.1) Just to try it in work...

Flashed it on Sandvold's latest release. I don't see any difference. Weird. :/
Cleared cache and dalvik, too. No use. The camera interface hasn't changed.

Weird coz ui is total différent. Lit should be in /system/app do chown and chmod if adb push
Chown root.root
Chmod 644
I m using lit with sandvold rom, gives Nice features.

Thanks, mate. I reflashed the rom. Went on to flash this camera.
I see it as a separate camera app. It doesn't replace the stock camera application.
It works. But it does tend to force close the odd while.
Also, I noticed that the auto focus doesn't work despite enabling it under the settings menu.
I guess full/wide screen snaps aren't available for all resolutions either.
Have you faced anything similar, if I may ask?

Hi,
There is no need to reflash whole rom for this app.
Used root explorer like Root browser or ghost commander.
I m using only this app in /system/app . Note sure it s good advice to have both app with same name/intent_action.
So advice only one to get Best result. I tested what you wrote and didn t crashed.
When copied into right folder don't Forget to set right permission as described previous post.

Enabling DNG Raw Capture for all sony devices [for kernel & platform devs]

I would like to place a request for aid in getting Sony devices to enable Bayer raw stream that's standard in Qualcomm SOC
I am one of the freedcam developer and we use this raw stream to encode it as a raw dng file but we have only had luck with one Sony device the Sony Xperia L it had the raw listed in picture format it was working on stock rom but something changed in cm12 where it stopped working .
regarding xperial l cm12 it seem issue maybe platform side rather than kernel.
regarding msm8974 devices

line 1056 seems to be missing the Bayer format as can be seen in the basic driver in this case imx 135 .

Seems raw is broken with adding bionz. That affects z1-z3. For the z itself and bevor it should work

if you can build the aosp ROM from source try patching kernel camera driver . the .code line as per op then build then we can take it from there if bionz is really broken in aosp that's a good thing

I saw that and spoke to the sony dev about it based on what he said i think raw might just work but unfortunatly i do no not have a sony device to test . If yo do indeed have have a z1 z2 z3 .. running aosp with experimental camera stack try the following
Goto Playstore
Search for Freedcam
Run Freedcam
Settings > Picture Format see if you see bayer-mipi or bayer-qcom
Scroll Down tap on Save Camera Param click close
Tap on Format button and press raw then capture test raw
in DCIM/FreeDCam/ you should find a .txt file and .raw file
there should be multiple bayer formats try all till you land on one that works.
if you do indeed have .raw file then converting to dng should be a breeze:good:

I don't know if is any useful but I'm running marshmallow with unlocked bootloader in a z3 and I tried freedcam, the camera is not capturing anything (screen all black) and in the API settings only appear 'camera1" and "playmemories", oh btw, there is nothing with "format settings" like you say in your previous post..

Hmmm good thing you mention it sony devices could only return jpeg only with apk below should return whatever the camera supports.
The marshmallow rom does it contain the experimental framework if not i doubt it will show anything else other than jpeg.
from the screenshot seems freedcam dies while setting up cam this results in black preview and missing menu options
in DCIM/ Create a folder named FreeDCam and inside another named DEBUG what debug will do is start logging why freedcam dies then in FreeDCam you should find a txt file with logs
anyway apk below does not filter sony devices

With the Debug apk the camera works and I can take two or three photos and then crash.. Here is the log if you want it ! :good:
oh, btw.. now with the debug apk, I can see the "format" option, but like you say it.. Only JPEG support.

My build has no working camera.
However FXP build ( http://uploaded.net/file/4gqdsyq5/from/ub0dtu courtesy of freexperia ) gives working camera.
API2 and raw format work ... !
But my touchscreen doesn't !

Dunno what NX ROM is based of but the Libs are from stock 6.0 stock ROM.
It's possible to achieve it on CM ROMs but requires patched stagefright lib

If you just need 60fps then upload libstagefright.so from your ROM

Here you go you also need to modify camera.vendor.****.so you can rename camera.msm8974.so to camera.vemdor.****.so then you can use SnapCamera/FreeDcam/ for HFR Video

Replacing particularly this one adds few more fps (equals to author statements), but can be boot loop issue. The cause is unknown for me (
Sometimes it boots, and sometimes not, stuck in boot loop, or hangs. Had to do backup before system modification for easy recovery.

you use a root explorer and move it manually to System>priv-app>SemcCameraUI-xxhdpi-release folder...
some roms the folder name is different , its SemcCameraUI-xhdpi-release (with one X) so you can rename the folder and delete the inside files and folders and put the file from this thread inside and give it correct permission.

Thanks for the guide, but I managed to fix it with installing the APK again. The installation steps should've been more clear!

I get an error - "other app is using camera, please close the other app" when I use this mod. I've replaced the .apk files in priv-app

did you give the right permissions? the file permission after replacing is rw-r--r-- (or in numbers 0644) , you should be able to set the permission using the same app that copied it...
also clear data and cache on setting >apps > camera , and Camera common... then reboot.
it works perfectly on z3.

Tried to make a video. I didn't still found other features like live lockscreen

Picture in picture is also not working i have tried but won't worked on YouTube.... Statusbar is also same as earlier...should have changed as pixel2 but didn't ?

I think I've read that you need YouTube Reb for picture in picture. You could try the YouTube vanced app here on xda.

It's working. But you need Youtube red. I tried it in chrome browser. I'm giving the link for screenshot below
