You must use a computer for root, ioroot is an easy way to root any g2 firmware but you need a computer

I'm not sure myself.. I've seen the question asked about flashing a ROM using a stock recovery but never about flashing a recovery. I would go buy a computer and take it back after rooting.

Could you elaborate or post a link to a thread that describes how to either unroot or flash stock mk2 back?
I've heard that kies works for other carriers but AT&T hasn't sent any firmware to Samsung since MDL. I haven't found any mk2 files to flash via Odin to get back to stock either.
Mind explaining how please

Yup it totally works, especially KDZ method. I soft bricked phone 3 times (messing with settings) and this has always been my trump card.

The TOT method for my D800 worked as well...flawlessly. Only caveat is that you should use the original usb cable that came with your phone; I tried an old Samsung cable once and for some reason didn't work.
