You can change the status bar and add the percentage. You can also use Xposed modules to get that. Or you can even downgrade the phone to get the percentage icon. Anything that pleases you.

[Q] How to get current battery level?

Hi,
Do you guys know if battery icon next to the clock can show current battery level in %? I was wondering if that is possible, it was it in windows mobile.
Regards,
ncc74656
I use Battery Indicator Pro for that. Adds another icon in notification area showing %. Remember that MS will not report anything other than 10% increments.
motocharge app can show you the exact percentage

it doesn't give the percent in the battery icon but in the status bar...
To get battery percentage in the battery icon, you have to edit the framework. I don't know how that works, but I do know it's related to the framework.
Specific themes have the percentage in the battery icon.

yes I know that, I've tried to do it with uot kitchen but after restart, I've got closing apps errors. Even with argent2stone rom
I think it's because ms2 give ranges by 10% and uot gives all percents.
sorry for my english
Motocharge is quite nice. Is it possible to disable original battery indicator?

How to display battery percentage in notifications bar?

Just curious, is there an option to display battery percentage in the notifications bar when running stock software and unrooted? I was unable to locate such an option in the settings, but maybe I'm just missing it. Thanks!

lol, I don't even have the phone and I would have known that.

Three questions about settings

Hi guys, brand new XT1642 here.
At the moment I'm very happy with it, but there are three settings I can't change and I find it very strange:
1) In status bar no possibility to show battery percentage in the battery icon or on the side?!
2) Ringtones, alarms and notifications have incremental volume, no possibility to disable it to have immediately 100% volume?!
3) When phone is locked, shortcuts on the bottom are camera and vocal search, no possibility to change them?
Thanks!

In the status bar hold your finger on the little gear until it starts to spin.when you remove your finger you'll see a new setting added. You can add a % to the icon then but it is really tiny. You can also add, subtract, or rearrange the pull down quick menu.
The incremental volume is a safety feature that you can only change if the phone is rooted.

Any way to show battery % in the battery bar on new stock Nougat?

Just wondering if there is Any way to show battery percentage inside the battery bar on new stock Nougat?
The only thing I am missing on this new firmware. I used to use the app Battery Percent Enabler but it does not work anymore... I also tried to long press the gear icon on the notification pull down to unlock the new settings but that does not work on ATT.
Thanks!

Thanks, but I am asking to add the percentage inside the battery icon so it does not take up all they room in the notification bar.

How much room does two(sometimes three) digits and a percentage symbol really take up?

More than I would like or I would not have posted this thread in the first place ?
I don't think there is an option for that, maybe in the future a rom will integrate it

battery percentage in status bar?

Are my blind or does the phone not have that option?
Hold the settings icon in the notification shade for 5 seconds. When you release, you'll have a new option at the bottom of the settings menu!
Nice! Thanks man! Any other secret stuff?
Can't get that to work on my device. Had the same problem on the Axon 7. Other devices have worked fine.

Search "Battery percent enabler" on the Play Store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.kroegerama.android4batpercent
Figured it out. You have to have developer options turned off to activate. Then you can turn them back on.

On mine if had to be off. Worked right away once I turned it off. Someone mentioned it had to do with animations also.
Can anyone actually read the percentage in the battery icon? It's pretty small...

I seriously can't read it. Is there a way to enlarge all the icons up top a tiny bit?
Oreo beta has percentage built-in. And it's nice and big beside the battery icon. So going forward we should be good to go.

Oreo or custom roms will have battery % showing. There are also apps in the playstore as well as other development posted on XDA essential phone this thread comes to mind
https://forum.xda-developers.com/essential-phone/themes/3minit-battery-mod-oreo-t3711365
If you have rooted and installed Xposed, Gravity Box lets you customize the status bar even more, things like text/icon colors, circle battery meter, or MIUI-style battery bar, or just percentage text with stock battery, etc.
And Gravity Box works with System UI Tuner (just turn off the battery in one of them, or you'll have two in the status bar).
Stock Nougat allows small battery percentage inside the battery icon.
Stock Oreo allows large battery percentage beside the battery icon.
I appreciate a minimal setup (including the status bar), so I prefer the small percentage inside the icon. But it's certainly harder to read than on Oreo.
