Three questions about settings - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi guys, brand new XT1642 here.
At the moment I'm very happy with it, but there are three settings I can't change and I find it very strange:
1) In status bar no possibility to show battery percentage in the battery icon or on the side?!
2) Ringtones, alarms and notifications have incremental volume, no possibility to disable it to have immediately 100% volume?!
3) When phone is locked, shortcuts on the bottom are camera and vocal search, no possibility to change them?
Thanks!

In the status bar hold your finger on the little gear until it starts to spin.when you remove your finger you'll see a new setting added. You can add a % to the icon then but it is really tiny. You can also add, subtract, or rearrange the pull down quick menu.
The incremental volume is a safety feature that you can only change if the phone is rooted.

[REQ] Mod v.30b lollipop

Hi,
anyone has a mod with circular battery and small navbar for 30b version? I have a funcionally mod but this was for 30a and I have problem in the lockscreen. I need a mod made starting by 30b.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Free mobile app
Install xposed and g3 tweakbox. You will be able to mod these things easily on the fly.
hi, just wait few days and i'll release a huge update of mods based on 30b. there will be several battery typed
s -circular, htc style, ios style etc. currently i'm struggling to add some other things like remaining time until full charge on lock screen and direct battery access through the expanded notification bar. if you need only circular battery and can't wait drop me a message and i'll send you the file with only circular battery mod.

G3 tweakbox for g2 device? Is it fully compatible?
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Free mobile app
yes, most of mod are compatible
I've installed xposed and g3 tweak box. Enabled. I'd like to change the nav bar height, but nothing happen even after reboot. Also when I try to go to the Settings -> Display -> home touch buttons -> button combination menu, the settings crashes with the error : "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped". Could anyone help me, please?

Mods/Tweaks Wish List

I love rooting my devices, but I try to keep them stock as long as possible when they are new because modding and tweaking start to become addictive. Now the bug has bitten me again and my device is rooted with more XPOSED modules than I can count. I've reached the point where I think I've found all the mods and tweaks that are available to me, so now I'd like to see if anyone else has a personal wish list of mods/tweaks they'd like to see for our devices. Here's my list (keep in mind, I'm running KitKat for the better battery performance):
View home screen and app drawer in landscape mode (yes - I know 3rd party launchers and Lollipop can do this, but I want it for stock KK launcher)
Truly separate navigation volume from media volume. Currently, Maps only lets you lower the navigation volume as compared to media, but sometimes, I want to turn the music down without also lowering the navigation voice.
I would like the notification pull-down menu to show quick settings automatically if no notifications are present. Gravity box has this tweak, but it doesn't seem to work.
If I was still running Lollipop, I'd want the ability to show the old power management graph. The new one uses too much screen real estate to show the useless portion of the graph (time remaining). We all would rather see more of the past history side of the graph that shows what has been draining the battery so we can stop it.
What's your wish list for mods/tweaks?
Double tap to wake that always works consistently in every situation... The earliest Firmware with which the phone was initially released had that. But since the first update it's hit or miss, when the phone was just laying around for some time.

Oh, and here's two more requests:
- The ability to take higher resolution panoramic photos (I think they're only 4mp by default)
- The ability to take horizontally scrolling panoramic photos while the phone is in the portrait orientation.

Show battery percentage

Is there any way to show battery percentage instead of just the battery icon without having to root or do all kinds of things? Is that option build into the system?
Sendt fra min Nexus 6P med Tapatalk
Yes if you press and hold the settings icon you will unlock the System UI Tuner. From there go into settings and it will be under System UI Tuner
Lovely trick! Didn't know that one.

Yep, it's a Marshmallow benefit! Cool
I've been using the chronus widget which also has the percentage. I like it better because I find it hard to read the percentage sometimes when it is displayed in the battery icon. Also, if you pull down the settings / notifications menu on the lock screen, the percentage is also displayed (on stock setup).

Any way to show battery % in the battery bar on new stock Nougat?

Just wondering if there is Any way to show battery percentage inside the battery bar on new stock Nougat?
The only thing I am missing on this new firmware. I used to use the app Battery Percent Enabler but it does not work anymore... I also tried to long press the gear icon on the notification pull down to unlock the new settings but that does not work on ATT.
Thanks!

Thanks, but I am asking to add the percentage inside the battery icon so it does not take up all they room in the notification bar.

How much room does two(sometimes three) digits and a percentage symbol really take up?

More than I would like or I would not have posted this thread in the first place ?
I don't think there is an option for that, maybe in the future a rom will integrate it

Missing toggles in notification bar (Android 7.1.1)?

Hi y'all !
I just bought Nokia 6 last night and notice that there are some toggles missing in the notification bar which are available in my other phone running Android 7.0.
Such as the screenshot toggle, Volume toggle, sound profile toggle and so more, they are obviously not in the "Drag to add tiles". I hope Nokia didn't remove them.
Also, how i can make the battery percentage indicator appear next to the battery icon instead of inside the battery icon?
If you enabled System UI Tuner you can enable battery percentage.
To turn on Sytem UI Tuner, you need to press the little cog symbol in the corner of the toggle window until ut rotates. After that you find the system ui tuner menu in the bottom of the settings menu. And there under status bar you can enable battery percentage. As far as the other tiles are concerned, I don't know uf they are part of the rom.

Yeah, I know, sorry. But until some devs come along and actually start developing ROMs and stuff for this thing that's all we can get for now I assume.
By the way, the Gallery app is also missing from Nokia 6, Google photo is standard default photo viewing app now?

missing a lot of tiles bother me too, but there are apps out there that can add tiles, so it's not much a big problem.

the more i look at it, the more missing features i find. I just came across a review about this phone on YouTube, strangely enough there are some settings from the video are not available on my phone.

The missing settings i was talking about are at 3:03 and at 3:42 in the video.
Yup no Gallery app in this one. I don't like google fotos either, so I disabled it and installed Quick Pic instead. It's a good app.
Hello! Help with the decision, please!
I bought a Nokia 6 in China, the version was 7.0, and the function updated the update 7.1.1 and tried to install it via Recovery from the SD card, at the last stage received an error message. Now the phone is downloaded only in Recovery, and then the download is not. What can you recommend? How to restore the phone? What is the version of the firmware?
Well, adb sideload works on the phone. But I don't know any place to download Roms or OTA files.

the one in the video is the first release version (TA-1000, china exclusive i think). the launcher app is different from the Taiwan release version(TA-1003).
TA-1003's launcher app is a modified version of launcher3, while TA-1000's looks like it's called launcher+(at 3:08 in the video you linked.)
