[Q] Soft bricked SM-N9005...HELP - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

SM-N9005 is soft bricked, owner probably went OTA and interrupted the update now when you turn on the phone it goes to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 logo then loops from there. I tried to flash official stock firmware downloaded from Sammobile (N9005XXUEND6_N9005OLBEND1_XTC) and it passed the flash in ODIN 3.09 then the phone automatically reboots into stock recovery and tries to update package but from I keep getting:
E: Unable to verify whole file signature
E: Signature verification failed
Installation aborted
I have been flashing firmwares on older Samsung via ODIN and as far as I know after flashing via ODIN the firmware is already written in the phone and it doesn't need to reboot into recovery and flash the update again but in NOTE3 it does this and now I'm stuck.
I tried flashing PhilZ custom recovery and disabled signature verification but when I flash the stock firmware via ODIN it overwrites the custom recovery back to stock recovery and then gets stuck again in the verifying signature thing.
Any help and inputs would be greatly appreciated.

If you can get into recovery why not try to do a
"Factory Reset", it may solve your problems.
Good luck!

I tried to do a factory reset in stock recovery, tried wiping the Dalvik cache as well but the problem is still there it just stays on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 screen then turns off then turns back on and loops over and over.

Either nuke the phone via a totally fresh ODIN update or flash Philz recovery, when it loops on you, take out the battery, put it back in then go to recovery mode, wipe the usual dalvik/cache etc then boot up (it should in theory work) (and/or flash a custom ROM just to get it to boot properly)

Thanks for the input, the main issue why I need to flash the stock rom is because the phone doesn't boot and is looping in the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 screen then vibrates as if it turns on again and goes into a loop...
Question is can I flash a custom rom over it for example there's no firnware loaded on the phone or the firmware loaded is corrupted?

You can flash a custom ROM yes, so long as you boot Into your custom recovery, do the wipes. Then installing a custom fw should work OK, once you've done that you can go back to stock or change custom fw without issues
I'm UBER Paranoid

The reason it wants to boot into recovery is to flash the csc. Make sure you get the correct firmware for your device and region from sammobile.com and odin again, let it do its thing. It sounds like the csc wasn't valid.

Stuck and the Samsung GALAXYS4 boot screen

Hi, after flashing some ROMs (Omega) the phone booted normally, installed some apps and rebooted. But after that, the phone stay at Samsung GalaxyS4 screen and no furhter movement... I flashed new Stock ROM via ODIN with NO errors, but again when booting, it stay at Galaxy s4 screen... Tried and flash the PIT file with the stock ROM as well, but the same.. after the flash, it strat rebooting, and stuck on the Samsung GALAXYS4... Any ideas what to do?
Boot into recovery - home/vol up/ power wipe cache, factory reset etc then look for your default firmware from sammmobile and use odin to flash.
Don't mess with pit you will just screw it up doing stuff like that.

firstly flash a new stock rom using odin without pit.. then do a factory reset in recovery
Of course I tried to do this first... But I cannot go into recovery mode. While holding the three keys, the phone vibrated, screen went black... and that is. When release the keys it starts booting but not to go into recovery.. Tried to flash the stock recovery via odin. It flashed, but again - cannot go into trecovery

Try flashing other things with Odin. Like a kernel or CWM recovery. Something might work.
After many tries, I could managed to enter the Recovery mode . It showed no mount of /data... but after Wipe it worked

Phone stuck on Samsung logo after failed ROM flash

Hello everyone, I wanted to flash a ROM to my Galaxy S4 i9505. I first rooted it like described in this tutorial. That went all ok.
After that I downloaded this and tried to flash using Odin Mobile. It rebooted to some sort of recovery, wiped data, cache etc. and then it wrote some error.
After that, I am stuck at the Samsung logo and can't boot into android. I can't also enter recovery, when i hold the buttons, it boots and there is written BOOTING RECOVERY (in the left top corner) but after that it goes to the Samsung logo again.
I can still get into Download mode. If anyone could help with this I would be really grateful.

Hi mate,
Why you flashed a custom rom with Odin mobile???
Go into recovery and do a factory reset try to reboot and see if it works if not....
Go to recovery do a factory reset ...and flash rom from there ( did you installed a custom recovery?)
If no working ..go to recovery do a factory reset ...download a stock rom ( sammobile) download Odin ( not odin mobile) flash stock rom...
Then you can root , install custom recovery and flash custom rom from there...
I did try to install the recovery using odin (this one), but when i rebooted there was the default recovery So after that i decided to flash the rom using odin mobile (and that got me here).
Can i install custom recovery with firmware ending with GNG8? I had 4.4.2 stock before this.

Thanks for the tip, I installed it through Odin 3.09, first I got stuck on booting into recovery, but on the second try I kept holding the volume up only after phone logo appeared and now I am in the TWRP.
Reseting the phone now and I will install the rom after that. Thanks again, hope it will succeed now.

Great mate!
Let us know how it goes

N910C Bootloop AFTER flashing Stock ROM and reseting everything.

So...I was using CM13 for my N910C and decided to go back to stock.
First I simply tried to flash the stock rom on Odin, but I got the FAIL message every time, so I did some research and figured it could be some problem with the PIT file. Download one for the N910C, flashed it with the stock rom and Odin did the process normally.
After that, I got in a boot loop, so I entered the recovery mod, did a factory reset and wipe cache and the boot loop continues.
It just shows the first Galaxy Note 4 logo for like 2s, then screen goes black and it repeats over and over again.
I tried to flash the rom again, tried to flash the pit file again, tried a different pit file (obviously for n910c) and no luck.
Any ideas?
Thanks! And sorry for the poor english!
You have to backup your imei, then format efs partition and flash with odin.

Samsung S4 Stuck In Bootloop PLZ HELP Me

So my galaxy s4 decided not to turn on anymore and is stuck in bootloop. It is really weird the phone either gets stuck at the samsung logo or gets stuck trying to boot into recovery but just doesnt make it in. I tried installing twrp but the same result where it is stuck trying to boot into recovery but never makes it. I also tried installing stock lollipop but it still doesn't boot up. PLZ help my nexus 5 just broke and now this phone isnt working either
You're using Odin to install a stock rom? Any errors when flashing with Odin? If Odin flash was successful, did you perform a factory reset before booting the phone for the first time with the newly-flashed stock rom?Did the stock rom come from sammobile.com?

So i got the stock firmware for my s4 from sammobile and used odin to install it( downloaded fine) but after it just restarted and tried to boot into recovery mode unsuccessfully. I would have tried to do a factory reset but i cant since i cant actually get into recovery mode.
Open Odin, uncheck everything except f.reset time. Flash the rom. When you see the word reset in the status window, remove the USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, replace the battery, use the button combination to boot into recovery, factory wipe, and reboot.

OMG I LOVE YOU. I dont know how unplugging the micro usb and taking the battery out made a difference(i had flashed via odin many times unsuccessfully) but i cannot thank you enough
Glad it worked for you.
We're all here to help each other out.
Cheers.
If you wnat to install twrp and you don't like Odin too much I recomend you the app TWRP manager, you just need root, it's a very simple app
I prefer flashing TWRP via Odin as it has never failed for me.

Samsung GT i9505 Boot loop

Hello,
trying to help a pal bring his phone back to life.
Used the latest version of odin to flash an official rom. Odin showed that it had passed and flung up no errors. Boot loop remained.
Eventually tracked down the correct carrier via sammobile and downloading it.
If this doesn't work then I am out of idea's.
Anything else I could do to fix it or could it be hardware?
Before flashing, uncheck everything in Odin. Flash rom and, when you see the word "reset" in the status window, remove the USB cable, remove battery, replace battery, use button combination to boot into recovery, factory wipe, reboot.
Thanks ..... The only thing I didn't try there was factory wipe when in recovery

flashed the official carrier rom and unfortunately it still boot loops.
Odin is showing pass every time i flash a rom and no errors

Also it only boots into doing mode not recovery
thinking its hardware
now when i try to flash any roms at all its failing, even roms that previously passed.
