Stuck and the Samsung GALAXYS4 boot screen - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, after flashing some ROMs (Omega) the phone booted normally, installed some apps and rebooted. But after that, the phone stay at Samsung GalaxyS4 screen and no furhter movement... I flashed new Stock ROM via ODIN with NO errors, but again when booting, it stay at Galaxy s4 screen... Tried and flash the PIT file with the stock ROM as well, but the same.. after the flash, it strat rebooting, and stuck on the Samsung GALAXYS4... Any ideas what to do?

Boot into recovery - home/vol up/ power wipe cache, factory reset etc then look for your default firmware from sammmobile and use odin to flash.
Don't mess with pit you will just screw it up doing stuff like that.

firstly flash a new stock rom using odin without pit.. then do a factory reset in recovery

Of course I tried to do this first... But I cannot go into recovery mode. While holding the three keys, the phone vibrated, screen went black... and that is. When release the keys it starts booting but not to go into recovery.. Tried to flash the stock recovery via odin. It flashed, but again - cannot go into trecovery

Try flashing other things with Odin. Like a kernel or CWM recovery. Something might work.

After many tries, I could managed to enter the Recovery mode . It showed no mount of /data... but after Wipe it worked

[Q] Galaxy S4 MF3 can't enter recovery.

So the problem here is that my phone won't enter recovery mode. I think it's because it's deleted. I installed safestrap and did a factory wipe but it gave me errors(something about datamedia/media) so i just deiced it's best to deal with it in the morning, so i rebooted. The phone stayed on my boot logo(Samsung Custom) and then things started to get worse. I hold the 3 buttons and it reboots. Only problem is that the blue "entering recovery mode" text shows up for a split second and then gives me the android figure you would see if you were in download mode for another split second and then reboots.
I know that MF3 is having some flash problems so i can't flash the stock rom because i already tried with 2 different stocks rom. I also already tried to use the custom pit files that were used to fix the bootlop issue with kies or whatever (adonis.pit, MF3_BTL_FIX and SGS_I337_16GB), which came out with no luck.
Is there a way to flash the stock rom on MF3?
Is there a way to get my recovery back so i can wipe everything?
Or is my only option to got to best buy have them flash the stock rom...

Stock MJ5 kernel

Hi, need a stock MJ5 kernel flashable with odin to save my GT-I9505, stuck at splash screen with no recovery. Been flashing with odin and Kies for the last 4 days without any luck. I ve downloaded one which says MJ5 stock kernel but when i unzip it its MJ3. Thanks
Why not just flash a rom with MJ5 in it?
Or just flash a recovery and do a wipe. Then flash the rom you want.

If I were in this situation I would flash a custom recovery (Philz) and if you can boot into that recovery, I would format System, Data, Cache and SD card.
Now you have a totally clean slate to flash Stock ROM in Odin. The thing is Odin flashing is a no wipe procedure, so if you have something corrupt or causing issues on your phone it'll still be there after Odin flash regardless of firmware.
You can find the .Tar file of Philz recovery in his thread, flash that in PDA of Odin and try to boot to recovery again. Make sure auto reboot is NOT ticked and your phone is totally powered off. Then using Volume up+Power try again to boot to recovery, as soon as you see the blue writing "recovery booting" release power button but keep holding down Volume UP.
So what you are saying:
- You can't boot, it stays at the Samsung logo.
- You can't enter recovery, it just boots again.
- You can enter download mode.
- Flashing is succesfull.
Am I correct? Then my first guess would be that you have a faulty battery. Look if its more swollen than normal.

My phone is only 2 months also tried different battery, I ve 2 original. When i plug into wall charger only shows grey battery icon with static circle, but the funny thing is i suspect the battery is being charged.
When i boot into recovery it just stays at "recovery booting"ve left it for 30mins and when i turn on normally it stays on the splash screen.

Phone stuck on Samsung logo after failed ROM flash

Hello everyone, I wanted to flash a ROM to my Galaxy S4 i9505. I first rooted it like described in this tutorial. That went all ok.
After that I downloaded this and tried to flash using Odin Mobile. It rebooted to some sort of recovery, wiped data, cache etc. and then it wrote some error.
After that, I am stuck at the Samsung logo and can't boot into android. I can't also enter recovery, when i hold the buttons, it boots and there is written BOOTING RECOVERY (in the left top corner) but after that it goes to the Samsung logo again.
I can still get into Download mode. If anyone could help with this I would be really grateful.

Hi mate,
Why you flashed a custom rom with Odin mobile???
Go into recovery and do a factory reset try to reboot and see if it works if not....
Go to recovery do a factory reset ...and flash rom from there ( did you installed a custom recovery?)
If no working ..go to recovery do a factory reset ...download a stock rom ( sammobile) download Odin ( not odin mobile) flash stock rom...
Then you can root , install custom recovery and flash custom rom from there...
I did try to install the recovery using odin (this one), but when i rebooted there was the default recovery So after that i decided to flash the rom using odin mobile (and that got me here).
Can i install custom recovery with firmware ending with GNG8? I had 4.4.2 stock before this.

Thanks for the tip, I installed it through Odin 3.09, first I got stuck on booting into recovery, but on the second try I kept holding the volume up only after phone logo appeared and now I am in the TWRP.
Reseting the phone now and I will install the rom after that. Thanks again, hope it will succeed now.

S4 not booting into recovery or anything after a factory reset

Hi guys,
I was running cyanogenmod 12 on my s4 i9505 sucessfully. Today I decided to encrypt my device, and I went ahead with it and it was sucessful except for the fact my apps got deleted. I set the phone to factory reset as I didn't it anymore and it went ahead and restarted. However now it boots up with the blue text at the top left saying booting into the recovery, The Twrp screen (the blue one) comes up but it then disappears and reappears. Im not too sure on what to do. Also removing the battery and reinserting it doesn't make a difference, as when i switch my phone on again it comes up with the blue recovery boot text.
I would just like for my phone to work, I dont need any data back.
Thank you
Have you tried flashing a stock ROM from sammobile.com with Odin?

I found some firmware, but Im not sure which one Im meant to use. I bought my phone from amazon.
What is the baseband and bootloader on the phone? These two items will hep identify the stock ROM for the phone.
I would flash the recovery with Odin. See if you can get into download mode by holding power, volume up and home button simultaneously. If so you can download Odin to a PC and flash CWM or TWRP. Google the tar file for your specific device and you can find what you need. . Once set up on PC you can then connect phone to PC while in download mode and reinstall a recovery. Suggest you reinstall CM ROM if you have zip file and gapps file on an SD card. Good luck

Samsung GT i9505 Boot loop

Hello,
trying to help a pal bring his phone back to life.
Used the latest version of odin to flash an official rom. Odin showed that it had passed and flung up no errors. Boot loop remained.
Eventually tracked down the correct carrier via sammobile and downloading it.
If this doesn't work then I am out of idea's.
Anything else I could do to fix it or could it be hardware?
Before flashing, uncheck everything in Odin. Flash rom and, when you see the word "reset" in the status window, remove the USB cable, remove battery, replace battery, use button combination to boot into recovery, factory wipe, reboot.
Thanks ..... The only thing I didn't try there was factory wipe when in recovery
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
flashed the official carrier rom and unfortunately it still boot loops.
Odin is showing pass every time i flash a rom and no errors

thinking its hardware
