it's really hard to read your text without any formatting! could you post screen shots as well, thanks.
read the text here....it was ripped from the developers website...
http://www.torchmobile.com/products/
thanks will read up on it.
Did anyone try this yet?
I've just installed it, and it seems good. Fairly fast on my Kaiser, and the UI could use a little work, but renders HTML nicely.
Might actually live up to it's claims!
Installed and tested a bit. Works pretty good...still not a fluid as Net Front 3.5, but has some pretty nice animations (especially when changing tabs). I'll keep it for a bit and see if I can't play with some setting and streamline it a little.
It's running pretty quick on my Hermes, but the UI seems a bit laggy. Lets see if this thing can't draw me away from my beloved Net Front for a while.
This browser has been out for a long time. It looks nice once everything has rendered but Pocket Internet Explorer rendered faster than this browser in my opinion.
I still think Opera and Skyfire are way better.
It even takes along time to render over WiFi compared to when I use Opera, PIE, or Skyfire.
I kept playing with it but went back to Net Front. It looks promising but needs some work.
Possibilties
i just downloaded this and was reviewing it. some problems i could find were it was not as easy to navigate when compared to ther products. transitions are smooth. but for me i will wait until development is a little farther along. good potential though. a little slow
Instaled in the SD Card, and running, seems quite fast

side stepping the paid/free differences
The problem with wifi for this is that TCP sucks big time! there is so much redundancy built in for error checking that for anything like this, the slightest hiccup can just make it feel laggy and generally crap compared to using the real thing., ive tried to use similar programs for years and they all just annoy the buggery out of me after a while
Bluetooth offers a better solution but would have limited range and still isn't perfect, also bare in mind that everything under the sun uses 2.4GHz meaning a next door neighbours cordless phone can give you a headache too.
its just food for thought, perhaps you may live in a faraday cage and have no issues with interference, dropped packets and don't mind the slight lag that cant be removed, but not everyone is in such a fortunate position.
a Bluetooth option would be cool and of course a WP version for the grown ups
something's to keep in mind for the masses
Tempting ....
I just gave the Free "try it out app" a whirl.
I have an older laptop with non-multi touch touchpad so I was really excited about this app.
I have to echo the request for a bluetooth version of the app as well, there was definitely some odd lag going on ...
... But I can't be sure the lag wasn't being caused by the cascade of "This feature is only available in the paid version" messages I was getting.
Look, I think this app could be awesome, and I would happily pay for it, if I thought that it would work well enough to use daily. However, the experience on the Free app is really bad due to the restrictions. I understand not wanting to give away your work for free, but I think that the Free app paints a very unflattering picture of what the Full Version might be.
You may want to consider re-vamping the Free version, allowing for fewer restrictions or going to a 30 day trial, or just look at the code for how it displays the nag-message.
I'm not trying to be mean or rude, I think its a great idea, but when I say "cascade" of nag-messages I am being literal. There was a backlog of messages after closing the app so that for the next minute and a half I had "This feature ..." flashing on my home screen even after closing the app.
Good luck and I look forward to trying this again in a month or two!
I just gave the paid version a try and I'm not having any lag. It's very smooth. I haven't had a chance to dig too deeply into it, but so far it's very nice.
Anyway, whatever you do, don't drop the ball on this. Routinely I buy a paid app from a dev here and the development goes stagnant. There's a ton of potential for this app, please keep going!

Flyme OS 6, will we get it? [Request]

Hello. I have recently caught my eye on something called Flyme OS, which... I won't lie, is the best firmware I have seen in my opinion.
Video.
So, the question is, will someone port Flyme OS 6 to our devices?
The phones you'd have to port from are all MEIZU devices.
MEIZU M3S seems very promising for porting.

Detailed information about features:
One Mind, Intelligent Thinking Engine.
One Mind, the independently researched-and-developed intelligent thinking engine, can automatically pick up user habits according to user scenarios and provide efficient solutions.
Without additional settings, One Mind automatically builds up a smarter mobile system for users.
Game Mode
One Mind will automatically identify when a game is running and go into Game Mode to ensure a smoother gaming experience.
Acceleration and intelligent memory resource allocation allows the game to run more smoothly.
The immersive mode shields unimportant heads-up notifications, helps answer phone calls more conveniently and prohibits gesture operations, allowing you to focus on the game without disturbances.
Network Protection senses online gaming and takes measures to prevent disconnection.
Auto-repair at Night
One Mind will detect your work and rest status.
When you are asleep, the system will automatically go to sleep and start self-repair — defragmenting memory, cleaning up system cache, optimizing background applications, reducing standby power consumption, and freeing up more system resources.
A more intelligent system is coming closer to your life.
Process Reaper
Process Reaper can identify application types and behaviors based on user habits.
By mandatorily reaping processes that take up large memory resources or behave abnormally, and retaining necessary processes, Process
Reaper prevents applications from mistakenly closing while reducing resource assumption.
The intelligent process reaping ensures you a smooth experience.
Flash Launch
One Mind picks up your habits quickly to identify regular applications in different periods, and opens up special channels to keep these applications running.
The engine quickly responds whenever you start it.
Powerful Functions
This release of Flyme 6 brings hundreds of new features. From simply meeting to discovering user needs, Flyme is dedicated to improving user experience.
This is a giant leap forward in refining the operating experience of traditional smart phones.
We give you a system with powerful functions, but simple operation allows unprecedented simplicity to busy lives.
Parallel Space
Parallel Space is probably the best privacy management mode ever.
It provides different modes for different scenarios and enables scenario switching.
Users can switch between private and normal modes by using different passwords or fingerprints when unlocking their phones.
Easy switching means easy management.
Kid Space
The innovative Kid Space allows parents to build up an independent mobile phone space for their children.
Anti-addiction and low battery lock shows Flyme’s consideration for children.
The kid Space allows kids to have fun without parents worrying too much.
A Time Machine for Contacts
Restore original data without any loss.
Restore your contacts visually and precisely to a specific date.
Recycle Bin
Everything remains in its original unaltered form.
You can quickly retrieve mistakenly deleted messages and notes on your phone.
Notification Management
The Aesthetic Truth of Management: Do More with Less.
Intelligent Notification Storage;
The degree of importance for application notifications is automatically identified. Notifications of lesser importance are kept in the storage box at the top right corner of the notification bar, leaving you a quiet, uncluttered phone.
Notification Management Shortcut;
Long press notification content, and the management shortcut window, along with setup options will popup for immediate access.
Brand-new Multi-task Management
Horizontal display: A more complete view of running apps
One touch off: Clear all apps with one thumb
Pull down app card: More options such as lock, blur and multi-window
Pull up app card: Quickly end the task
Memory usage: Displayed below each app card, allowing you to manage apps according to the occupied memory.
Powerful 1-from-N Algorithm
We spare no effort to attain the best performance.
The more than 90% recognition accuracy largely reduces the impact of camera shake.
When you press the button, the system automatically takes multiple photos and selects the clearest one based on the algorithm.
Behind every perfect photo lies a powerful function.
Facial Beautification and Makeup
Nice Photos and Assured Beauty.
In cooperation with the well-known facial beautification solution provider Arcsoft, we put forward a new intelligent algorithm with natural effects to enhance your charms.
Advanced Beautification, Real-time Makeup mode, and details adjustments such as whitening, face Slimming or makeup , allow you to perfect your photos any way you desire.
Zero-delay Camera
Great photos with just a tap on the shutter button. Not even one wonderful moment will be missed.
The zero-delay camera allows you to capture excellent pictures with quicker startup, shooting, focusing and imaging.
It has never been so easy to be a good photographer.
Security Innovation
The multi-dimensional safeguard protects your phone from any attack.
Security strategies for browsing, payments, communications, etc., are constantly upgraded based on user scenarios.
The security database is updated in real time to ensure the security of your phone.
Web Page Security Assurance
The up-to-date secure URL database of the browser can automatically identify and label secure websites and give warnings on potential security risks to keep your internet experience safe.
Payment Security
Apps at high security level are set up in the cloud, so that the system can automatically identify when they are running and enable security protection promptly.
Flyme fully protects payments with strategies such as restricting other apps’ access, preventing overlays on the payment screen, prohibiting any third party from reading SMS verification codes, and using the system keyboard only.
Prevention System Against Rogue Base Stations
The chip-based rogue base station identification technology cuts any possible connection between your phone and rogue base stations.
Our ever-evolving big data system for rogue base stations keeps strengthening the security of your phone.
In addition, we will share our self-developed technology with other phone manufacturers and relevant departments.
Joining together, we can eliminate harassment and fraud caused by rogue base stations to benefit all mobile phone users.

Software (ease of use, features, etc)

When you hand your phone to granny to take a photo of you, can she get the job done? Rate this thread to express how you deem the Planet Gemini PDA's camera software. A higher rating indicates that the software is easy to use, fast, uncluttered, and inclusive of advanced features for when you need them.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Basic android. No extras, as expected.
yes, quite basic. That is not bad, but it would not help granny
Until now the software is not ultimately polished. The gemini keyboard app for instance is buggy, the NOTES app is not very nice, but functional. Time will show if that gets better. Until now this is beta...
A lot of the software is pretty buggy. I think it's mostly usable for my needs, but I'm waiting for the lineage OS port to work better (RIL) and then I will be switching and running mostly emacs for all my needs in termux.
The SMS app is too full of trivial options. An Android smart phone problem apparently."Android apps for Ludddites" would be a good idea, everything in capitalis quadrata black and white , no bubble options.
I like to handle one sms at a time, not to have a whole past library open. the Google chrome browser risks getting a list of search finds instead of a website if one is not precise enough. More so than the same browser on a laptop. The planet ribbon of options does not show in its entirety, and there is no specific setting for phone volume, only for riingtones while for those, it claims that an aac format is unreadable. Integration with filehandling on a laptop works fine while a simple usbto usbc adapter + mouse makes it possible to avoid the imprecision of a touch screen. On the positive side, net connection is easy & stable.

I discovered that when entered at another point in the menu, an aac soundfile was not rejected, but succesfully decoded.. My previous criticism, however, still stands. Usage as phone is severely hampered in noisy envionments; yes background noise is suppressed when transmitting, but received audio cannot be increased. Not in the general sound settings, not under accesibility, not even in the "about phone" menu. In contrast, the subroutines ("Apps" to initiates), are still too full of options of dubious utilitythat cannot be disabled. Otherwise it still can imitate my old psion 5 except for the lack of precision by having to use a touch screeen. (Arrow keys inoperative on the display).

I found that receive- end volume can be adjusted when on the phone. Well hidden feature.
I am struggling with the file handler which seeems to have delete and print as its main features. perhaps the google store has an MC - like file handler? The gemini hardware is stable and androids subroutines disappoints equally stably. SMSs do not appear in order, but new ones are announced and the first line is visible but otherwise need searching to discover. Most inconvenient.
p.
addendum:
Most unusual (since men are presumed to never read instructions), but I have now bothered to seek info on how to use the inconvenient touch-screen and discovered how to deleta all extraneous junk info. One prsistent gripe is that the presumtive capacitive sensing is not sensitive enough to always react in the same way, and for tiny script, babyfingers seem to be necessary. Otherwise, the machine works well enough to replace my previous phone. One final gripe: Googles insistence on spying on pictures . diary etc. even if I will only ever transmit texts.
