this as happen to me twice now itook avideo from my hunting trip i go to my phone and the f******* video is not there iand i know it recorded because the first one i played and the record ing was working because it showed 10 minutes anybody this was a once in a lifetime video.i wonder about this phone now.helllllp
Have you tried using a computer to watch that video?
How are you trying to access the video? Have you looked in the gallery?
Also you can try downloading a file explorer app. I use root explorer but if you are not rooted look for file explorer in the app store.
You will want to navigate to storage/emulated/0/dcim to find video files recorded with the camera app that came with the phone.

Has anyone found a good download manager for the Xoom? I'm looking for an app that will allow me to download from sites like Hotfile, Fileserve, etc and open the video, PDF, music files in different apps on the Xoom.
I use DownloadPro on my iPhone and I am looking for something similar.
Any suggestions?
Thanks ahead of time!

I download from fileserve, hotfile & rapidshare to my Xoom.
Install Astro File Manager.
Hit menu> more> preferences> check off "enable web browser downloads".
Files save to the "download" folder in the Xoom file system.
Really? Are you usung the stock browser? For me it just saves as an HTML file or a JPEG of the link button picture.

Blozout,
Will Astro File Manager give you the option to open files (for instance an AVI) in the stock video player or a different player? For example, if you click on a file in the downloads folder does it gives you several options of how to open the file?
Thanks for your help!
I use rockplayer universal to play the movies and download via the stock browser. Try enabling "unkown sources" selection in the main honeycomb settings under "applications" as well.
I download avi files via this method and play them without a problem. Mkv files no luck, but that's a codec issue...I've never used filesonic, but from the 3 file sharing sites above that I mentioned, I've had no problems whatsoever. Give it a try, astro file manager is a free app, no harm, no foul.

So I finally got Kies to work on my mac, but when i send movies to the tablet it puts them in the DCIM folder.....is there any way to change the location so I don't have to keep copy/pasting them into the Movies folder?
How did you get it to work?

hey thanks for taking your time and reading this.I was wondering if there is a way to choose the images and videos that show up int he gallery without using any apps.or atleast is there a way to prevent them from showing up in gallery?
There are many apps to hide files shown in gallery. Search in the play store. Or like me, download any file manager from market, es file explorer or xplore, they have options to hide any file - whether it's an image, video, mp3, anything.
I don't think you can hide the files of your gallery without the help of any external app.

Look through your files with a file managing app and move it to a mother music folder. I don't know if you'll even find it because I haven't tried. But I'd like to know a 100 percent legit option too

you need to be rooted and need a file browser that can access root folders
got to data/data/com.google.android.music/files/music
they don't have proper names or date accessed info so if you have lots of files like me... good luck

You can download google music manager on your pc and download your library. Then copy and paste to your s4. If you look for the songs in root explorer they show up as numbers if I remember right.

Find the song in your music player and click the pin button beside it.
That saves it to your phone. Done.
If you want use an app to make it a ringtone make sure you have root and use root explorer or anything root capable file explorer and navigate to data -> data -> com.google.android.music -> files -> music -> (artist/album)
Copy that file to your default Music folder that doesn't require root and wella any ringtone app should be able to find it.
OR
do as someone else suggested and download it to to your computer from Google Play Music then manually copy it over
I'm having a horrible time trying to figure out how to do this on my tablet.
On my computer, I simply use a video downloader extension with Firefox.
I have the Flash Video Downloader app for Firefox Beta.
When I click for it to download something, a new window pops up of the file and the size of it.
When I click on that, it brings up my Antek File Explorer app but it won't allow me to save the file as is.
I've tried almost every app at the Google Play Store, websites and Web extension add ons.
What is the easiest way to do this?

Easiest way is to download on your CPU and move to your tablet or use a video downloader app though they don't work all the time and it looks as if you had trouble with them already by your post
