Download any TW ROM you want in the Android Developement Section and flash away. Remember to change your kernel to compatible for TW at the Original Android Development Section. If I help , press thank. :good:

Why use back original sammobile ROM when you have modified one at XDA? :x Your phone is already Knox 0x1. Original Sammy rom seems kinda pointless already. For kernel, you can try different kernels base on your liking. Lean Kernel , CivizSnapKat , Custom N3 , Aurora Kernel , etc. They're all flashable via TWRP or CWM.

You have stock kernel ?? Trickster won't give you much options mate ... and my guess is it doesnt even work with stock kernel . You need OTHERS kernels like CIVZ or X-Note Kernel or Omega Kernel.

Maybe, but to be honest I am yet to be convinced as to how much I would benefit from a custom ROM. I scared myself after tripping the KNOX Counter without being aware of it. I currently have it rooted for a few apps only (Titanium and so on).
Plus seems ClockworkMOD Recovery isn't available for my N9005 (thats the message i get when trying to install it). TWERP not working despite ROM Manager stating it is installed. AND therefore....(are you still there?) I can't currently boot into a custom recovery mode anyway.
Phew!

you have to flash the latest recovery through odin , for twrp LINK1 TWRP 2.7.0.0 DOWNLOAD this file and flash it through ODIN 1.85 as that works best for recoverys and rooting .
if that recovery doesnt work try one of its older version
LINK2 TWRP 2.6.3.8

I'll install TWRP later - I preferred that when I had the Note 2
But in terms of ROMS, is it worth it....really? I can't recall being as excited about a custom ROM as I was about Jailbreaking iOS and installing Cydia.

MOST features on TW X-NOTE currently.

How presumptuous...
Far from being lazy, I am actually an extremely busy health care professional with a huge caseload of patients. I am not afforded the time that you might have in your job (presuming that you're working and not peeling stickers off your skateboard that is).
I took a rare lunch-break and thought I would ask a question. If that upset you maybe I should book you in with a colleague for some help?
Anyway, back to work - or your PlayStation maybe(?).
Thanks for your input, it was massively unhelpful, I'd appreciate it if you refrained from commenting on any of my future posts.....including this one. I doubt whether you'll be able to help yourself though....:fingers-crossed:

Yes, there is. You can fin it in the Original Android Development section. The maintainer is AntaresOne. He has 2 versions. One is the official nighlies and the other is an optimized version.
You can go for either one or, you can choose one of the other roms based on CM12 or CM12.1.

It's because this forum is not a helpdesk. It takes 1 second to type "Cyanogenmod I9505" in Google or in the xda searchbar. Most developers don't like these kind of people in their rom threads but it lowers the quality of discussion dramatically.
It's the same for the question you asked in the CM optimized topic. It's not a helpdesk and it has nothing to do with that particularly rom. You can easily test which rom is more stable for you by flashing it.

My first rom was the 5.0.1 GPE rom, then tried CM12 Optimized builds, SaberMod CM12 and 12.1 builds and I am now currently running Resurrection Remix rom.
The most stable from the bunch (for me) was the GPE rom. The fastest and smoothest (for me) seems to be Resurrection Remix.
All of them ran stable for me, with no bugs or serious problems that could not be solved.
CM12 has reached a final version. The developer works on 12.1 now. CM12.1 nighlies is the most updated of the bunch.
Now, for the flashing. Before flashng you might want to backup your stuff. This requires root. You can use CF-Auto-Root to do it. Warning: This will trip knox.
Just google search "root s4 cf auto root" and follow the instructions in the thread. CF-Auto-Root does not work with all s4 variants, so make sure you have the right one.
If you don't want to backup anything, then you can just skip to installing a custom recovery.
There are 3 to choose from: CWM, TWRP or PhilZ Touch recovery.
I use TWRP. You should be able to flash it with Odin. Google on how to flash a custom recovery on the s4. Even if they are for different android versions, it's basically the same process.

Use it with KT Kernel. It gives you lots of customizability. You may have a green tinting at first, but this can be easily fixed. Settings > Display > LiveDisplay > Color Calibration and set all values there to 50% and hit Ok. Then just change the brightness so the changes take effect. Otherwise you will have to reboot.
Or you can use it with the default kernel.

Plz guys help to find good Rom for my S4 without more problems
you should say more about what you're looking for in a rom. do you want Samsung features and touchwiz or a pure Android AOSP or something more modified like cyanogenmod ?
only a Samsung based rom will give you full features in the camera or MHL support. AOSP and CM will be usually faster and give more free internal space. no rom is going to be perfect though as that is also a measure of personal preference and custom roms often have tiny bugs in them.
usually talk of which rom is the best is discouraged here, we are urged to try some for ourselves and make our own choice...

Lol. Seriously?
What harm does root access and debloated roms do?
It is like blaming the gun and not the person who pulled the trigger when someone is killed. :/
And FYI due to the heavy amounts of bloatware and other unwanted stuff, the performance is slow in stock roms and also not all of them are stable.

i have bad experience on that ROM on Note3 Unlike Note1 work just fine.
I really like rayman95 light version of ROMs but the issue is the device never recognize my language at all , I have no problems with English but many important emails and messages I can't read it at all and so far I don't know anyway to flash language pack "ARABIC".
Any updates on this? I have the same device, recently got it, want to see if there's a good rom to run to get rid of all the non-sense bloatware from the branded ROM that I have.

edit: or this 5.1.1 android - https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/slim-kiss-t3091848
LE: i've came to the conclusion after flashing 5 custom roms that original firmware is the best, unrooted... and you wanna get rid of the bloatware (like all of us do), just disable the unwanted apps
GL ALL!
I'd like to use CM12.1 (marshmallow) but I realize there still are no stable release? Why? Is it not good enough yet?
I've had a pretty bad experience with CM on my old Galaxy S4 so I'm a little afraid to remove the stock recovery and ROM from my Moto X Play. I want to make sure that it's bug free (or as buggy as stock) and suitable for day use. In other words I want to flash it and know it's fully reliable. Given the fact that there are only nightly releases, are they reliable enough for this?
Thanks

I can't vouch for the latest releases, as my xplay has been broken for like 3 months now, but being a nightly doesn't inherently make it unstable. Stable builds are usually relabeled nightlies. I say give it a shot. You can always go back to stock if you don't like it, unless you're speaking about voiding warranty

Oh! I thought nightlies were unstable releases. So before yours broke, you had a good experience? No problem with camera or other stuff?
It's not really a question of warranty but rather just not having any issues when I need it to work. For instance, with my Galaxy S4, the camera kept crashing while I was out with my kids so I lost time trying to make it work when I wanted to take a picture. That's the kind of thing I wouldn't want happening just because I got another ROM.
Indeed I did (have a good experience). If you're every unsure of a nightly, head to the thread. You'll usually find one or several people commenting if it's no good.

Yeah I had a look (I just realized I was talking about CM13 not 12.1) but given there are now 205 pages I thought I'd ask about the nightly situation in a different thread.
I think I may try it and restore it from the ROM available in the forum.
Oh and I keep wondering, given Motorola never actually released the ROM, how can someone make it available?
I m using nightly for like 3 months ......and I can say nightly is far better than stock if you are looking for customization and speed. I recently tried to go back to stock 6.0.1 but that experience is so "LAGGY" that I again return back to CM.I can say that CM nightly build working best for me with my requirements(like gaming and also photography and editing and HEAVY Customization and many more ) . and about custom recovery,it's a must have tool I suggest as with that I can return back to my previous builds. SO i recommend to go for NEW CM build, but in the end it's upto you.
and if u r still fearing about NIGHTLIES then flash the custom recovery(twrp) and then make backup of whole stock system and then do whatever U want to.
Btw this is the wrong forum to discuss things
