I am not a fan of the hardware buttons sich as home, back etc with which note 3 comes, and am wondering whethear i can use the note 3 (with a custom rom of course) mich like a nexus 5 with on screen Software buttons, not having to press the built in buttons. Is this possible? I am Currently in LG g2 and i am loving it but also want the bigger screen. Thanks in advance
Once you have the Note 3, Google is your friend.
There are stand alone mods to do it, and some custom roms include it too.

Thank you guys both! Seems like the combination custom Rom to get rid oft touch wiz and the gravity box will do the job.. I habe seen a YouTube Video on the gravity box, it seems to have a lot of smart and usefull tweaks.
Try X-note ROM. On app X tranformer, it have option for exactly you want. Sry for bad Eng

Does everyone understand ?
LMT Launcher is an awesome tool for sure!
Yup
I understand. But the questions still remains, What does the fox say?
Or use xposed + gravitybox and have both

XDA is a sad state of affairs these days
LMT is much smoother than Pie Control that Gravity uses, which is basically the PA/CM version.
This is for people who are looking for a simple solution without the bells and whistles of Xposed mods like Gravity.
People using the ROMs mentioned by users in this thread obviously don't need this. But those on stock or CM11 can benefit from it.
Well seriously... when I was on KRT16M stock I decided to not apply this method because if LMT stops we can't browse any longer. (there isn't any real reason why LMT should stop but I think it's always better to have 2 options to do one thing).
IMO it's not handy to have Back & Home buttons in a hidden menu but this solution should serve to other people.
Edit:- I'm a douche
So I have a flip case for the S4, and it has this little cut out of glass that gives me a black screen with some basic information in it.
I have no idea what to call that screen but is there a way to say change the black to an image, and maybe change the color of the text ?
Think it's not allowed because of the hit in battery. It's black and has limited info because of the oled screen. But there may be a way to customize.
The s view is what it is called. It can be changed with 3minit on sacs ROM.

Thanks, I have not got around to flashing a custom ROM after I rooted it. but I will check out that ROM or see if there is a way I can flash the 3minit framework to the stock rom.
It helps knowing what I am wanting to change. I was searching things like "close cover screen" and got nothing.

I do have xposed installed , and that has made it so I dont feel the need to flash a custom ROM so far. The only real things I want to change is the s-view and remove a TON of bloat from the phone.
Here is a link to the 3minit framework if anyone else sees this and wants to try.

I am going to read more about it latter on, and see if it will work with a Stock ROM - Even if not, I guess its time to flash a custom ROM anyway.

I recommend Sacs Custom Rom, Its constantly being updated fast and good battery life, all bloatware has been removed and its 3Minit certified. Check it out.
Just make sure when you modify the S-View settings you don't pick anything to bright. The phones that utilize the s-view case usually suffer from severe screen burn in after awhile.
Hey guys,
Assuming I buy a Note 3, can I uninstall TouchWiz and install stock Android look (like the Nexus 5), will I still be able to use the S-Pen? Like being able to click the button to have the menu pop up?
I don't want TouchWiz, but I still want to use the stylus pen.
Thanks

Use an AOSP ROM -you won't be able to use Samsung's SPen features, you'll have to use an alternative which can be found in the PlayStore.
Hello guys,
Lets say that I'm a basic user on my phone.. Camera, social apps, gps, browser.. that's it.
But something that I really miss from my previous phone (running CM), was double tap to wake and Greenify (Pro edition).
Greenify without root is a pain in the ass.. And those apps from Playstore to DTW are horrible. So my questions:
1 - Is worth it to root my phone because of those two features?
2 - Is there any custom rom or custom kernel that can provide me the DTW ?
Thank you very much.

Double tap to wake is not a feature or option in
any of the current custom roms for S7/S7 Edge.
There is no custom kernel or any mod which has
the double tap to wake feature for the S7/S7 edge.
Good luck, have a great day!

Just curious now.. Is there any technical reason for this?

If it's only.those two features , I would say just stay on stock . I don't think yon need greenify as well. The native doze is doing quite good I think. And theres no way for dt2w .

Hi,
Is there any way to reverse the Back and Recent hardware buttons on the S4 mini (i9195)?
I'm currently using Lineage 17.1, so I know it's possible to enable on-screen navigation (with the back button on the left and the recent on the right) but I don't want to use on-screen buttons.
I've seen there are some apps that claim they can reverse these buttons, but it seems like overkill to install an always-on app (possibly containing ads and/or spyware) just to have these buttons reversed.
Is there no simple hack that can do this? (preferably without needing root)
Thanks for any help.

Although not an immediate solution, it may be of interest to know that your wish is possible on my S4mini Value Edition (i9195i) using an amazingly wonderful ROM call'd ColtOS. (I also have a regular original S4mini (i9195) using Lineage 17.1, but would prefer to use ColtOS if only somebody would build it.)
Interesting to know that very option is included in ColtOS! Shame the ROM is not available for the i9195, although I think I'd prefer to stick with Lineage for now anyway, just wish there was a simple solution to this buttons issue...
You can use button remaper, i used it with the stock rom and its work great!
