KK OTA gsm unlock for t-mobile - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Am I correct in guessing that this OTA upgrade will necessitate using DFS or Radiocomm to redo that NV edit?
Anyone had any problems?

Yes, that is correct. Anytime the baseband is updated the edit must be reapplied.

Rogers baseband versions

Does anyone have the Rogers baseband before the update was released?
Want to test out if that baseband is better than the one included in the update.
Thanks
there are only 2, so logically if the current is post OTA, the other is pre-OTA

Update 98.30.1 with GSM unlocked?

I have recently did the procedure to unlock the GSM capability on my Razr M. Today I received a message regarding update 98.30.1 is ready to be installed. Is this something that will affect what I did with the GSM? I am not using Verizon service so not sure if this update will affect what I did. If I should not update, how can I get the update request to not ask, as I have postponed it for 12 hours by choosing install later. Thanks in advance your any help you can provide.
Yes, you will have to re-unlock if you take the update.
You can freeze the updater using Titanium Backup to get rid of the update nag.

updates

Hey, I'm using cricket wireless(aio) with the unlocked firmware. I flashed the unlocked firmware then flashed the aio/att user data. I'm able to get all the cricket/att options(like volte) but now I'm not able to receive ota. I was under the assumption that if I flashed the att user data I would be able to get ota updates cuz I'm on the att user data. Is this not correct? And if not how would I go about getting ota if I can? Anytime I do the update system I get this(in the picture) and I know there are updates available after that.
Anyone??

Trying to update to Latest Firmware

I just bought a refurbished AT&T Galaxy S7 Edge and is on the May security update build G930AUCU4BQD4. I looked online and the latest build for the August security update is G930AUCU4BQG1. I go to check for updates and it tells me its up to date. Does anyone know how can I force the cell to download the update. I tried looking for an OTA file to use and flash from recovery, but no luck.
Thank you.
My first question is did you buy an Edge which is a 935 or the S7(Flat) which is the 930. Depending on that the next question is who is your carrier. If it is ATT then you should be able to OTA with no needed tinkering. If it is not ATT then you would have to sideload the ota zips via recovery. Plenty of links and descriptions on XDA for how to do that, but we need to know which phone it is first.

It's the 935 edge att, but not getting ota's. I did find the files to update, but I am not sure if it will delete restore the phone to factory.

Sideloading WILL wipe the phone. I still am not clear on whether this is a 935a or a 935v with a fw. Also is your provider att. The only reason I am aware you would not get it's is of you flashed a leaked or beta fw that has no upgrade path. Try to Odin the full fw.

Flashing U Firmware

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to go from the P Sprint firmware to U firmware. I want to be able to root my device on QL1. The guide on the forum is for U firmware, but I attempted with my stock Sprint firmware and the only thing I couldn't get to work was mobile data, as APN settings are not adjustable on stock firmware. Is there a way to flash U firmware if I am on stock P?
Thanks,
csmyka

It is possible if your bootloader version is lower than 5, firmware for unlocked version have latest bootloader revision 4. Sprint updates bootloader just to remove this possibility of crossflashing. You are on QL1 version so is not possible at the moment

I have upgraded to RA1 since I posted. Does this still make it impossible?

RA1 is still on 4. If you look at past firmware info, this should be sorted out when Oreo drops.
