So i went and debloated some apps with Titanium Backup (Backed them up, then uninstalled).. One of them was My Magazine, which just sent my Note3 into a tizzy. I restored it, but now on every reboot it was corrupting it (it seems), and there is no icon for it in the app drawer anymore. When i restore it, (wipe data, restore), it comes back just fine, i can launch it..
I used titaniums option to "integrate Update into Rom".. because it seemed on reboot it would do something and drop it back to an old version..
I dunno, somethin has gone funky and its really annoying me..
Anyone run into anything like this ever?
I just did another wipe, and restore w/ data, and the icon is back, and it seems to be normal, but im going to reboot and see if it remains.. Im skeptical.
Well, the app remained, but the icon is gone from the app drawer, it looks to be working im not getting any "Unfortunatley My Magazine has stopped" errors, but what the hell is nuking the app icon?

Did you try restoring My Magazine - Here and Now as well?
Yeah i wiped them both out and restored them both.. but the goofy thing is they come back just fine and dandy until i reboot.. i at least got them to stay now, but there is no icon in the app drawer.. Its not like i even use the thing, because when i removed it, all hell broke loose with Unfortunatley errors..
Very odd.. I wonder it titanium didn't back them up properly or something.
Yup, restored both, again, rebooted, and its gone again, it starts up and immediatley hits me with "Unfortunatley My Magazine has stopped".. No app icon in the drawer, but titanium says its there (but it doesnt say its UPDATED, like it does when it works).. It does after i restore it, and then it works fine, but on reboot something is nuking it.
Im leaning twords reflashing and starting over again.. What a pain.

I have a rooted Acer Iconia A500. Working pretty well. However, starting this morning I am getting an error whenever I click on the content folders, the message is "The application ApinAp (process com.acer.app) has stopped unexpectedly" and I have to force close. I was able to access it yesterday. In manage applications, the cache for this app is empty, and I tried clearing the data twice and rebooting the tablet. I suppose that I can unroot, and do a factory restore, and re install my apps (I did a full Titanium backup, but unfortunately only after this error started), but does anyone have a simpler suggestion to fix this?
Bill
So no one has suggestions? Does anyone least have a copy of a working version of the app so I could uninstall and reinstall it?
Hmmm...okay no replies here, so I restored re-rooted, and Apinap was working again. Then I restored all my user apps from Titanium backup, and it was not working again. So I knew it was an app, not the rooting that caused the problem. So I batch uninstalled all my user apps, and sure enough it was working again. Then I reinstalled the apps one by one, being very conservative about which ones I pulled data from, and checked the Apinap program after every restore. Well now I have just about every app restored, and it is still working. So I am still not quite sure what the problem was....
I have the same issue launching hero of sparta from the games app that came with the iconia. I did buy hero of sparta direct from gameloft.

Just started happening to me, seems that Juice Defender is the culprit, uninstalled and all working again, reinstalled and apinap forece close so Juice defender removed until an update.
sorry guys for interruption , but i can i ask a question? why do u need this "appinapp" app, is it difficult to just launch needed app without it? ive deleted it soon as ive bought a tablet
Same here. the culprit was juice defender. uninstalled and everything went back to normal.
First post here!
I got my Iconia yesterday. I rooted, I installed Titanium and copied the backup folder from my phone. I installed most apps (apart from some phone specific ones) with their data (hoping to keep things like angry birds scores ) and got the same Apinap error. I removed a few apps but still no improvement. And I haven't installed juice defender or something like that.

a) It looks cool and it's a nice option to have
b) If you delete it, you won't be able to update, apparently.
Ditto. Juice Defender did it to me as well! Uninstalled and everything is back to normal. Funny that it decided to take a dump all of a sudden. I've been using JD since I purchased my A500 a couple weeks ago.
Hello everyone. Im looking for some help for my cousin.
My cousin got a Iconia A501 (AT&T Model) for Christmas. Whenever he opens up the app drawer it force closes and he is kicked to the homescreen. An error message comes up stating that the Market App has stopped responding when this happens. He cleared the Market cache but it made no difference.
Can anyone think why this might happen and how to correct it?
Try doing a factory reset on the device which will reset it back to factory.
That was going to be the next thing I have him do, I just didnt want him to lose all apps and settings he already added/changed. But it looks like it might be the only option.
He's new to android and its not really a good start for him. Hope it doesnt happen again.

Deleting the market app cach doesn't effect anything. Deleting the user cach, should only make him do the login process again. The apps will stay on the system.
Sometimes, the market app need to be replaced. And the only true way to do that, is to root the tablet.
You may want to install a "launcher app" from the market. You can get it via the tablet, or by pc (market.android.com) This may bypass the apps error.
I think launcher ex is free.
As the title says. Random apps are disappearing from my phone, and also appear as uninstalled in the Play Store. Their data and settings remain intact, as re-installing the app restores everything to how it should be.
It seems to happen after the phone is turned off and on again, but not every time.
Anyone seen this happen before, and know what the cause is? I've been using HyperDroid for ages, and haven't changed anything recently.
Okay, before I start, this is the first time I see such a problem.
I know a similar case where the whole phone would factory reset upon each restart, but not apps uninstalling. So please don't flame me if I post some insane
Maybe it's your sd card dying (do they die?) and your apps are on it? You haven't changed ANYTHING recently?

The SD-Card is ok, and some apps are on it. It's not just SD-apps disappearing either - some that have been on the internal storage too. I have not changed anything since this started.
I mentioned this to my wife after I posted this thread, and she's been getting the exact same problem. However, she uses a STOCK HTC Rhyme! So it's not just me or the HyperDroid ROM or my HD2.
I'm not sure the apps are really being removed, but any sign of them in the app draw and Google Play is being removed. I didn't check to see if the apk was still present, as the last app to disappear was GO SMS, and I needed it back ASAP.
If/when it happens again, I will check for the apk and data files - I suspect they will still be there, as evidenced by the app settings being unchanged after re-installing the app.

don't forget that depending on your google account backup settings, the app data may be automatically being restored from their backup when you reinstall the app.
Im not saying it IS being restored, and you are probably right, the data probably is still there, just pointing out that that's not a certainty.
Ive seen apps vanish, but only a month or two ago, on the beta/pre beta JB roms, and the apk was still there, just suddenly not installed.
After flashing a ROM, I tried installing Titanium Backup and restore my app+app data on a game I got a lot of progress. The only problem is (and this has happened after restoring with other ROMs too), is that when I restore with Titanium backup, that specific app that I restore no longer receives notifications. I tried clearing the cache, but that doesn't work. I tried removing game, and installing directly from play store, and notification receive just fine. But if I install the APP DATA from titanium backup, the notifications stop working.
I don't want to have to start all over again and beat hours of levels just for notifications.
Any fix on this?
any update, please?
Sounds pretty buggy to me. My guess is that the game might have been storing data somewhere it shouldn't have been (and therefore TiBu missed it?).
To be clear, after installing from the market, you're only restoring the Data part (not app & data)? Your post seemed pretty clear, but just checking.
Further, I suggest, looking through all the settings in the game itself and see if something got reset within the game. Otherwise, I'm out of ideas, sorry.

I've tried both. I've tried restoring App+Data via TiBu. I've also tried installing from the market and only restoring the data portion.

I've tried switching off/on the notification setting in game. Still doesn't notify me unless I manually open the game. The game is called "Super StickMan Golf 2". I've gotten so far and I don't' want to have to do it all over again. Especially since it's multiplayer and the skills you've earned carry with you into multiplayer sessions.
TB messed my textplus notification as well.

It's weird because some apps work that TB restored. For example, I also restored SnapChat with TB, and those notifications work perfect. Except other applications don't (like SuperStickManGolf 2) unless they are installed fresh from the market.

You'll find that tibu is far from perfect. It takes longer, but I almost always restore apps from the store after flashing. There are a few I know tibu will restore and I selectively restore those and get the rest from the store. Also, don't restore system data.

It almost makes TiBu worthless if you can't (or preferably shouldn't) restore the app's data from it. It's too bad they don't have a fix for this. Again, all my other apps (+notifications) work from TiBu's restore (app+data), except Super Stickman Golf 2. ARGH...
If someone finds a fix for this, I'll marry them.... forever
This just happened to me as well but to all restored apps that have notifications. I tried restoring with helium and the same thing happened. Reinstalling the app fixes it. Pretty odd.
Anybody ever find a solution to the SSG2 notifications?
Not willing to lose my single player progress but would love to get those multiplayer notifications working again...
@kalmoa Notifications on this game are jacked in general it seems like. I've started over from scratch and still receive no notifications anymore. Every now and then I'll get one with no rhyme or reason. Sooo annoying.
I have no idea if this could even be answered in these forums, but here goes.
I use Vaulty to hide pictures on my phone with a password. Restoring data and app has always worked from TB, from phone to phone or ROM to ROM. Today I flashed a custom OOS ROM and it didn't go so well.
Behavior: Hangs/ freezes during any kind of gallery search or media loading. This eventually results in a force close. The settings work, but if you try to switch accounts, it will hang on the screen where it's trying to find old vaults.
Things I have done: Force close the app, clear data, clear cache. Uninstall and reinstall from Play Store. Uninstall and restore only app from TB. Froze 3rd party gallery apps. Set the default gallery app. I even installed another vault program - Vault. This app won't even load up AT ALL. It goes black immediately upon trying to open it. This led me to think something else might be going on.
Has anyone seen anything like this? Anything I could try?

I actually managed to recover the pictures, saved them of the phone and switched to keepsafe, it works better. I found that adding the app manually and logging in, trying to restore just data from TB, and a bunch of other combinations finally allowed me to recover the pictures. This was a while back so I don't remember exactly but eventually I got it.

Thanks for the response. My problem is, I have old vaulty backup on my phone and no app installed. Today I tried to install app to recover my backup. But it went blank screen as soon as I open my app. Tried different apks of different versions from net. But it won't go beyond black screen. Tried all cleanup, cache removal from twrp and from app settings. But same. Aldo tried to install different vault app to check what happen and surprisingly it also freeze at app startup screen and won't go beyond black screen. I think it's ROM problem and some file would be corrupted which belongs to vault apps working. Last resort is to flash fresh ROM and try. (I even didn't restore app backup from tb as I didn't have one. Always installed fresh app from play store)

I went as far as to try to find out how to convert those proprietary .vaulty files back to pictures with some kind of file converter online. I didn't get very far with that method but that might be the last resort. I think I ended up flashing another ROM at the time too and maybe it was dumb luck that I was able to get it back.
