Hi, Im placing a bounty to unlock the GSM on the SPH-L720T
My self going to trow $75.00 by paypal.
Additional cash can be add for the developer to unlock the device
First off you would have to give or lend a SPH-L720T to a developer who is capable of unlocking a phone.

Here to help if i can!
I have two SPH-L720T in my shop right now. I have been fairly successful over the years unlocking Samsung devices, but this one has me stumped. I certainly will pull anything that anyone needs from these phones. I have already made the two different sized debrick.img (70 & 128) Unfortunately both of these phones were already updated to 4.4.2 when I received them. (L720TVPUBNC6)
Update: Well so far I had no problem backing up one firmware revision to 4.3 MK5, I did lose sound, and did not seem to gain much control over that modem either. I have been able to register on Iowa Wireless, our T Mobile Subsidiary here in Iowa, and in service mode it shows that I am connected to their 1900 MHz PCS, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 2G. I have been rather lazy in posting so I do not have enough posts yet to link screenshots. I do have though.
here is a s4 that is basically a paperweight with dead on sprint.. and no gsm unlock.. it is a 'paperweight' or cheap mp3 player/tablet
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAMSUNG-GAL...1343408429?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item2590d1092d
I'm pledging $50. Any news on the unlock solution?
Edit wrong thread
Pledge 50 dollars via PayPal. Paper weight also!!!
Dais Flaque a guy on here said he was working on it but needed 90 dollars to pay off his Sprint bill. I sent him a pm over a week ago and no reply, he also hasn't been active on the forums so I don't know. Wish he would let us know and we could at least help him pay the bill first off. Only takes 10 dollars from 9 people.
I'm very surprised no one else is working on this. Is there anything we could learn from comparing modem file from Sph-720 before and after unlock?
I willl Give $50 paypal too for the unlock i have one i buy on ebay and now stuck.
Not sure we will ever get an unlock, there does not seem to be many developers working on this phone.
l720t. My solution to the problem
Tired of searching for ways to unlock l720t just bought on Ebay m919 (can i337) with a broken screen for $ 50. Just replaced the main board, usb charge and the back cover with speaker (purchase only the main board you can not do. Need three components for a successful replacement).in l720t middle frame of i9505. Remove a little of plastic and everything is fine. Free method to unlock m919 and i337, you can find on this forum. Transferring your data is solved by setting Root access and special programs for backup. Good luck

okay. I have been in the hospital for a serious health concern. I am back and in action actively trying to unlock. as of right now my bill is going up. so I may just switch carriers myself. (more reason to get this done.) I do have a few friends working with me on this. but not able to communicate with him very easily. if anyone has input, ideas or wants to contribute to this please request with your email in pm that I add you to l720t development hangout. We have made a few breakthroughs on nc6. Hopefully we can do this soon.

Thanks Daisflaque, hope your getting better. I have been reading the S5 community sim unlock thread and looks like they are getting very close you should take a read a lot of what they are talking about should work for us. They have found a way to read and write access denied nvram areas.

WARNING to others trying to fit a different S4 model motherboard into SPH-L720T: SPH-L720 (Sprint S4 without the "T") motherboard will NOT work in SPH-L720T: the softkey/usb flat cable is too short, connecting it will also cause major overheating near the connector. Oh, and you'd need to trim the motherboard to fit into the 720T frame

One good thing: I was able to downgrade the SPH-L720T modem from NC6 to MK5 by removing the modem.bin and flashing it with Odin 3.09 (to the CP section)
I would like to know this process you took.. can you hit me up @ [email protected] dot com. Maybe a mutual hangout for a day.. It could seriously help us all out.
This video has appeared: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nu-rBKZVXO4
It indicates that 720T can be unlocked (not for free though!).
I had just chatted with the support on that site on witch this video points, and they told me that there is still no support on sim unlock on this phone
Meh. :/ Thanks for checking.

So I lost my Inspire 4g and was deeply saddened about it. Couldn't find it with Plan B or any tracking app by downloading from android market; because I changed my password out of caution first, I don't think the apps downloaded to the phone and since Google won't let me change my password to a previous one, I can't do a single thing. :/
Anyway, I'm thinking about buying the Atrix off of craigslist, but I've never used it. Is there anything I should worry about? Like, if it's stolen or he does some shady stuff and I put in my SIM card, will it just leave me with a brick? I'm still planning on using AT&T and if the phone isn't rooted, I plan to root it.
I traded an iPhone 3G for Samsung Focus with some dude on Craigslist. He had the box, USB cable, power adapter and showed me the thing working on his SIM before he handed it to me. Let me fiddle with it before I left. I've also sold some stuff on Craigslist too, just use your brain when dealing with people you don't know. Ask to see it working, and stick your SIM in it (or use theirs) and make a call before you walk away with it.
I always like to meet in a public area with a lot of cameras. I usually do Starbucks or a Bank of America ATM. No one will think of pulling a fast one on you in an BoA room.
Well I was reading about and was wondering about IMEI blocking and stuff like that (don't really know what it means). I remember suspending my phone online through AT&T. Does that only block the sim card or the actual phone? Can the person block the IMEI later if he decides to be a douche or do you need more information?

Good advice, use what's around ya. Oh, no personal checks. I won't take one, nor will I give one to someone I don't know. Most people won't mess with you, anyway, because they're afraid you'll do something to them. Just make sure the product works the way you would expect it to before you walk away.

IMEI blocking also cancels the SIM. He'd have to be a real douche to go out of his way to go pick up a new SIM just to screw with you.
I bought my 2nd Atrix off of craigslist.
I met the guy at a well lit truck stop. I asked for him to walk inside to meet me. (Lots of cameras and people). We then walked outside and I called ATT to check the IMEI and make sure he owned the phone he was selling. ATT also told me who the phone was registered to and that the phone was purchased in June... I then confirmed the sellers name.
I checked out every thing that I could to make sure that the phone was fully functional, it was.
Couple days later I noticed that I couldn't get HDMI out to work. After further investigation, I noticed that there was a single pin broken off in the HDMI. I called ATT up and they replaced the phone via warranty. Of course I played dumb and just said HDMI out didn't work, not mentioning anything being "broken." The likelihood that they can pin a broken pin on me is very rare. (no pun intended) They shipped me a phone that arrived 2 days after I called, I sent them my "broken" phone back.
I bought a greatly discounted phone off of craigslist and ended up getting a refurbed phone that looked brand spanking new from ATT.
*Oh, and the guy paid with cash.*
My transaction went better than expected, despite the inconvenience of not having HDMI right away.

Damn... so I can be screwed over even way later? I'm still confused, so let me get this straight.
I suspended my lost phone online. Does that make the sim card unusable, the phone unusable (i.e. even after putting in their sim card), or both?
Is the IMEI number linked to a person's phone number/account? I know that on the AT&T website, it shows what type of smartphone I had. Does it automatically change to whatever phone I have? Also, is there a penalty for using another smartphone? I'm really insecure about buying a used phone if i can get ****ed later.
Once you put your SIM in it reports the IMEI to your account. Believe it or not, the risk is low. Most people just want the money and don't want the trouble, because you could technically call customer service right there and say you bought the phone from the original owner right there on the spot and tie the IMEI to your account and you're good to go.
Yes, the IMEI reports to AT&T's network within the first few seconds of the SIM being in the phone.
And if you say it's stolen, they lock both the IMEI and the SIM as well as the account. If someone tried this on you, they would be unable to get a new SIM until they unlock the account, which also unlocks the IMEI and invalidates their old SIM since they get a new one. If he screws you, he can't keep it up for long if he wants to keep his contract.
I used to work for AT&T, not on the mobile side but I've made enough contacts to know how it works.

Well, I already know he's using a different phone. He says that the phone he's selling is his wife.
If both he and his "wife" (obviously, I'll call at&t and double check this) are using different phones, then the IMEI number shouldn't be linked to anyone and I'd be okay to use it afterwards? I'm just trying to find the scenario where I can't get BS'd.

You'll be fine, for sure, then. The Atrix has been removed from the network, it's yours for the taking.
I have been with Sprint with their version of the GS2 for years (HTC EVO 4G & PHOTON 4G) but their data speeds even on 4G have been deteriorating steadily over the years so I was ready and waiting for something to jump ship with.
The short version:
I ordered the GT-i9300 16GB (blue) from Expansys.com.
Also a micro sim cutter from Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004FQUWKS/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
Within 48 hrs I had both items.
I went to AT&T and had my number ported over and bought the cheapest $12.99 crappy phone and had them activate it.
Using the sim cutter I cut the sim card to micro size and inserted into my GT-i9300 and got the "NO SIM" error.
I thought I messed up the sim while cutting it but when I put it back into the crappy phone it worked.
Did some research and found some scary stuff mentioning bent pins in the sim slot of the phone...blah blah.
Luckily I found a thread somewhere mentioning a user from Denmark having the same issue - he said that some "older & outdated" sim cards will not be recognized by the GT-i9300.
Went back to the AT&T store....told them the buttons where too small on the crappy phone and that I bought a chinese off-brand phone with BIG buttons but the
store clerk told me I would need a micro sim card for it and that I should come back with one.
I got a micro sim right away and was told I would have to activate it when its in the actual phone.
2 minutes later I was in my car - micro sim in the GT-I9300 - no errors whatsoever - calling AT&T - activated the sim's serial number - was never asked about IMEI numbers or phone brands since my account was already active with zeee crappy phone.
The phone is working perfectly, I am getting HSDPA+ speeds and KIES updated it to whatever firmware was available automatically. (see screenshot)
That is pretty much it, I'd like to thank all the XDA users who took the time to figure out this method and posted it for all of us to benefit from.
Thank you again.

I don't know what the "medianet" plan is.
This post was to inform / confirm that the "unlimited non-smartphone" data plan can be had with the international GT-i9300 using the method that was posted here on XDA and that I have followed.
Medianet is the non smart phone data plan. I went and asked for a micro sim, telling them I was getting a sgs3 but I didn't want to activate the smart phone plan until I received the phone phone in the mail. They said okay, gave me the micro sim and an adaptor for free from one of their old micro sims and went on my way.

The person that sold you the phone got your cash then after some days reported the phone lost/stolen. This way your phone gets blacklisted and the seller gets a replacement phone since he had insurance which covers lost/stolen cases. Seller ends up with couple of hunders profit.
<MOD EDIT>
There's no need for that sort of language here thanks...
It could just be they are refarming your GSM tower for PCS HSPA+21 service.
Otherwise, you can check your phones IMEI number with T-Mobile here:

Any ideas???
True "micro SIM" or a cut down "mini SIM"? Lots of posted issues with cut down SIM cards.
Hey, wasn't sure where to post this, but anyway....
I had a ST account with 2 AT&T sims on it. Before they AT&T dropped ST I kind of saw the writing on the wall with that 2GB limit, and since I tend to go over and the other person does too I just switched to T-Mobile.
I'm wondering if I can try and profit off this a little? Could I sell someone the rights to the account/sims? or better yet is there a way to remove the sims from the account, still have them work, and sell them stand alone?
NOTE: If you have a problem with my attempt to try and profit off still having two of these, I don't care, move along, thanks.
Are they used? If so, how old are they? I think straight talk sims "expire", so to speak, after being used... I think it's between 1-3 months...
Edit: OK upon further research, service cards expire a year from date of purchase but sims do not... Again, idk if it matters whether or not they were previously activated or not...
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
They are used. One was last used about 3-6 months ago. The other we just stopped using this past weekend. The numbers associated with them were ported off.
They stay in the account ready to be activated again. I think I'd have to sell the "account" with the 2 sims, change the password, and let them activate them how they want.

One thing is for certain you can't sell the sims and activate them on another account and I think they can only be reactivated using the number associated with them when you first activated them. When I first used StraightTalk I didn't port my number over and used one they assigned to me, when I finally wanted to port my number over they said I had to use a new sim as you couldn't change the number on the existing sim card, it was permanently associated with the first number assigned to it or so it was explained to me. I think the sim can only be written to once after that its read only so any account info on it can't be changed.

You can discus phone plans here no problem, there are plenty of them already and it has everything to do with the Nexus 4 as its carrier unlocked. And since it was a question it does belong in Q&A. You could have posted it in the other StraightTalk thread in the General Section but who really cares (except it seems one person).

I think I'ma just abandon this idea. It's too complicated lol. I was trying to see if I could keep some ST AT&T sims in circulation and make a little coin on top, but with them activated already it doesn't make sense. Plus you can still get activation kits around $50 if you really want.

Like you originally said you would have to sell the account and I don't think that is allowed in the TOS. They might let you transfer it to a family member but that would be the extent of it. IMO It would be a huge pain in the butt to try and sell it as who really wants to go through that huge a hassle to try and save a couple bucks at best. And you would also have to give any buyer the phone number associated with the sim card which is the one you ported. I've got all kinds of used sims from carriers laying around too I just put them in a box to grow dust.
I would be most appreciative if you could help me please.
I have a SIM blocked Note 3 that I bought and used while in Southern Europe. I wish to unblock the phone. I have tried two internet companies one that refunded my money saying the IMEI was not in their data base the other company took the cash via Paypal and never even replied. :crying:
I understand that in the UK there are high street shops that can unlock a SIM locked phone for a fee? Would any of you know of such a shop around the area of Birmingham in the West Midlands of the UK. I will be there for four days next month.
Many thanks for your kind attention and help.

I would be a little suspicious of ANY form of unlocking done without codes - as far as I know for the moment all the "cable-unlocking' methods are very buggy and at the very least will result in knox 0x1.

Most phone shops around the UK will use codes now rather than the old fashioned cable method. Hence them charging 30-40quid as opposed to the fiver they used to charge for a cable unlock.

Just sent them the cash! I checked the IMEI number first and it identified it so should be no problems, fingers crossed!
Just waiting now for the codes.
Thanks to all those who were kind enough to reply. I appreciate your support and information. Great community.
Best wishes,
Ryland
Okay...........Four codes have been sent. Network, provider, sub-provider and defreeze.
I followed the instructions on the Youtube video and BINGO, the first code unlocked the phone for other chips from different providers to be used. Fantastic. Should I be doing something with the other three codes?
I do have a problem though. When the phone is turned on I still get the initial screen of the original server PLUS all their applications showing on the screens. I have deleted the applications BUT still cannot find a way to remove the original screen that shows the old server every time I power the phone on plus when I start to use the phone with the new SIM card the applications for the old server start to download again?
Rather a puzzle? It is painfully obvious I am well out of my league with this and ponder if I may again request further support? I hope not to push my luck with you guys and gals.
Many thanks,
Ryland

I truly appreciate the reply. I don't really understand it though. What is "Odin 3.09" . My phone is not rooted, I don't root my phones. If I did that I would negate my two year warranty.
I would imagine your kind instructions apply to rooted mobiles?
Software is by far my strongest point, as you can see
Don't give up on me yet. I am a very willing learner. :good:

ODIN///Odin is developed by Samsung to help its android smartphone users to update its firmwares. It is an alternative to the Samsung Kies mini and is a very handy tool to update your phone. It is a free to use software that runs on the Windows operating system. Simply download ODIN and install is the best available option for flashing a custom ROM. Flashing is a term that is part of the ever-growing mobile lingo dictionary and it means updating or modifying your firmware; stored in the flash memory or the ROM of your smartphone.
The step by OP is too long and not necessarily.
Simple step to install Official Poland 4.4.2 KitKat ROM:
Download Official Poland Single file KitKat 4.4.2 ROM.
Download and install Odin3 v3.09
Extract once the downloaded KitKat ROM.
Open Odin and load the firmware at AP.
Tick Phone Bootloader Update.
Click start and wait until it finish.
1. Download the firmware here and extart/// http://rapidgator.net/file/32c9439c4023fe52b8db1a1e4b432456
2. Unzip the zip file, and you will get two files with the extension .tar.md5 and a file with the extension .tar
3. Download Odin 3.09 and extart/// https://mega.co.nz/#!UdRRyCAT!H4FyVxYynNWvXqRNmnpMGQRCP-dG3uykgP2pT4rh8Ek
4. Launch Odin.
5. Reboot your Galaxy Note 3 in download mode (Volume Down + Power + Home button).
6. Connect your Galaxy Note 3 via USB cable to your computer and wait for Odin to recognize it. A blue box should then appear (in the program).
7. Add:in odin click AP get your firmware
also look at the picture and you can get videos on youtube

Hellooooo.
Started the process last evening and finally got to bed like 12 hours latter at 09.00 this morning.
Some how I ended up with malware? AWSOMEHP! Dear me it took me hours and hours to get rid of that crap. I am hopeless with this software.
It took nearly 4 hours to download the firmware, it then went to WinRAR and I cant open it?
I downloaded the Odin programme but it would not allow me to click the 'phone bootloader update'.
I gave it my best shot but dare not brick my phone so didn't touch that.
One thing. When KitKat comes naturally to my Note 3 will that update automatically remove the old servers files? IF this process can be done naturally' upon update to KitKat in my case it would be better to wait.
You see what happens is you guys and gals take what you do with this technology as easy as ridding a bike. Jargon is used that is absolutely above my head. I have looked at the video clip kindly referenced above so many times yet the speed that guy wizzes through stuff. I pause try to find do what he is doing BUT his PC is NOT running Windows 8.2. I have no idea what he runs but its not the same OS I have.
Some things in life need to be performed by people with the knowledge. I did not give up lightly but after seeing that clip and the possibilities of bricking the phone then having to do this and do that? No way Jose! Each to their own and this is not my profession so I am snookered.
Thank you for the time you ave taken in helping and supporting me. I sincerely appreciate your time. :good:
