Google Now Launcher - forced to use as BT voice dialer - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Brand new S5.
I have dragon mobile assistant on my phone and want to use it as my default device.
I had previously used S-Voice as my default, so I installed dragon mobile assistant, went into default applications and cleared S-Voice, and lo and behold when I hit the button on my BT headset it popped up a prompt for which program I want to use. I chose dragon and set it to use always.
At this point everything is working perfectly.
Google search updates(including the new google now launcher), and suddenly every time I hit the button on my BT headset it opens the google app instead of Dragon.
I check the default applications and Dragon is still listed as the default.
I went into Apps and cleared all the data and cache from the google search(defaults was greyed out), and went through all the other google apps as well and I cannot find any way to get it to allow me to set my default application. The new google search app overtakes all others and does not give me the option to get stop it. The only thing I can do is disable the google search app, and that disables all of the google now functionality, etc.
How do I set my default application for the voice dial and BT trigger?

Google Voice - disabling it

Does anyone know how to disable the Google Voice integration?
Right now the phone is set on using Google Voice by default and I cannot access the Google Voice icon nor change the settings when placing a call.
Thanks.
What do you mean you can't access the Google Voice Icon? If you mean that you can't find it, just type voice into the search box and it will bring it up.
Once you are in the app, press the menu button at the bottom of the screen and choose settings. Then choose the Making Calls option to change it.
Google voice icon and restoration
I mean exactly what I meant: the Google voice icon disappeared and there was no way to either launch it or reinstall it.
This is what I did to fix it: I did a clean phone from the bootloader and then I set Google Voice differently. I can now see the icon.
Just an FYI I think you can also change all of these settings by logging onto to https://www.google.com/voice

I'm guessing English is not your first language because you first appear to be asking how to disable Google Voice, then say you cannot find the icon, and your fix is even more confusing, saying you cleaned the phone from bootloader and set GVoice differently. Vague. And this whole thread is pointless.

[Q] Google Voice Actions Problem

Having a problem with Google Voice Actions that I've already worked on for a long time. Need some "Special Heads" to help me!
Have Nexus 4 with Stock 4.3. I run an app called Sliding Messenger that I use as my SMS App (check it out if you haven't tried it; it's GREAT!).
The first time I sent a text from my Contact List, I was asked (as I should be) if I want to complete the Task using Stock Messaging, Google Voice, Skype, or Sliding Messaging (the 4 messaging apps I have on my phone). I selected Sliding Messaging, and all has been well since. Now, if I send an SMS directly from my Contact List, it will automatically go to Sliding Messenger as the default without asking (as it should). In addition, if I use a third party App to check the App Defaults, Sliding Messenger IS listed as the default SMS Program. All seems well!
BUT! If I try to send an SMS using Google Voice Actions, it AGAIN asks me my choice of Apps to complete the task with. BUT it only gives me TWO choices, either the Stock Messaging App or Google Voice. No choice for either Skype or Sliding Messaging (which is ALREADY my default).
1. Why is Google Voice Actions not recognizing my default SMS App?
2. Why is Google Voice Actions not giving me a choice of all my installed Messaging Apps (as I got when I first clicked from my Contact List?
I've done all the "usual things (uninstalled/reinstalled all my Messaging Apps, and Reset App Preferences from settings. It still doesn't give me the choice. I've spoken with the developer of Sliding Messaging (great guy!), and it DOES work on his N4 running 4.3.
As a last resort, I went back to factory settings, reinstalled my Apps, and still no joy.
Any ideas from the ones out there with bigger/more "Special" Heads than me is GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Google NOW tries calling certain contacts via google voice and can never connect.

I have a Nexus 6P running the latest version Android 6.0.1. However, it is very odd that I never had this issue with my Nexus 6.
I have a car that just has a simple phone button (Bluetooth) to press which makes a sound and at that point I can simply say something like "Call Tom Brady". The phone usually uses my Verizon network to call the contact without any problems. I have been noticing that for a lot of my contacts 'Google Now' is trying to call them via Google Voice. The phone literally says calling so and so via Google Voice and then never connects. I don't know if this is because these contacts have a Gmail account or what, but it is very annoying and it never ends up connecting.
I bet if I uninstall the Google Voice app everything would work, but I need it for my visual voice mail.
One thing I have already tried is in the Google Voice App settings change it to 'Do NOT use Google Voice for any calls'.
This did not fix the issue.
Is there any Google Now settings or Google Voice settings that anyone can think of that might help me here?

disable "ok google" from the google app

Hi.
first of all sorry for my english, i'm from italy and i didn't use it for long time.
What's the question? on my galaxy s8 i don't understand how to disable "ok google" in app. The always listening is successfully disabled, so (for example) if i'm on facebook and i say "ok google".. nothing happen. But if i'm on the homescreen with the searchbar widget and i say "ok google" the voice search is activated. The same happen when i'm in the application of google.
I disabled all, the guide of google itself is different by my menu of the google application: it says go on settings>voice>Ok google detection> disable "from the google app" but on my phone i don't have the setting "from the google app"! how can i do? i Want to disable it. Help.
Thanks you
Same here, i don't know how to disable it

I am not using "Ok Google". Have you tried to disable Google app? Swipe up from the homescreen, find google app, tap and hold the shortcut and then when context menu appears, tap "disable". If you don't want to disable, then you can clear data of google app.
on the S8 you can go to settings -> General Management -> Language and input -> on screen keyboard -> google voice typing -> Voice Match -> turn of "ok google"
Still not disabling it in the widget on the main screen. Still activates when I say it.

Think I figured it. I don't have the Google widget but mine device would still respond to me saying Ok Google on the home screen , even if I turned off Google voice assistant.
I had to turn off / pause voice control.
Google assistant settings then phone then top right corner Google activity control. Then pause voice and audio activity. Once I rebooted after that I received a notification that I had unenrolled in the service.

Redmi Note 7 - Microphone issues (PIE 10 rom)

Hello to everyone!
After installing the latest available official version of PIE 10 rom on Redmi note 7 i discovered that in messaging application s such as Telegram, Facebook messenger, Viber - main microphone is not working. Person cannot hear me but in normal calls everything is working fine.
On 4PDA was found a temporary solution which is useful but it doesn't help me to fix the issue.
Workaround is - turn off the access to microphone for Google application and reboot device.
Maybe anyone already facing the same issue and know another solution how to fix microphone issue ?
Solution founded.
I tried to play with Google application setting but before changing settings I remove (disable) application from Google play store, clean cache, reboot. Install application with last updates, turn on Google assistant and voice matching. (Google app - Settings - Google assistant - Assistant - My device (on the bottom of screen), Voice match - on.
I have the same issue.

Try to check if the Google assistant and voice match is turned on. If it's turned off - turn on this function, reboot phone and check if the mic starts working in messangers

Where is the option to turn them on? When i tap Voice match in assistant settings, it tells me to add a device like Google home or something.
