I have a htc hd 2 and I have some questions. I was able to install 4.4.2 kitkat via recovery, but i will install slimkat, beacuse the version of the rom I currently have is really bad. If I run on kitkat which kernel is fastest and overclocks the hd 2 to like 1,5 or 1,8 ghz? Second question is which rom is the best and fastest kitkat rom maybe slimkat? Third qeuestion if I am running on kitkat can i overclock the gpu too?
OC ? ... How about hand grenade instead ? ( it's cheaper )

Dear friend ... As I read , You want to install a ROM for OC .... But I don't recommend you to Do it because it may Make HD2 Switch into HC2 ( which as you know is a High Powered explosive ... ) But anyway I can't tell you what to do Or what Not to do ,But I'll give my recommendations here :
1- Well about the Kernel I should say that if your not a Dev , don't play with kernels and try to use the ROM's own kernel but if you can't , you can try Tytung or Marc's Kernel , especially Marc's kernel because aazzam16661 overclocked his one to 1.5GHz as he said
2- About the ROM I should say that it's a bad Questions and maybe the Mods Delete my post but I recommend you to try this On CLK ( The best of these ) also This and This work well ... But always Remember that KK isn't Fully Compatible with HD2 and GB works Best On LEO For example This is one of the Bests ...
3-The answer is yes ... You can OC your GPU chipset
OC recommendations :
1- Don't play too much with the CPU clock because it harms CPU
2- If you felt your Phone is getting a bit warm , Reset the CPU clock into default to avid CPU chipset's blow !!!
3- Don't play Heavy games on the phone because it makes the ROM burn the CPU chip ( if want to play heavy games , try the GB ROM I gave you ... it can Run almost all games ... MC4 - Gangstar Vegas - NOVA 3 - Dead trigger ,... )
4- If you OC , Your ROM may don't boot after a reboot , means your CPU doesn't have the ability to handle the Clock so to get back your data , make a full backup of the ROM in Recovery , then make a full wipe then re flash the ROM and finally go to "advanced Restore " and restore the data partition ...
5- try to enjoy   ... Good luck
With Best Wishes

I know... Another noob thread opening up, but I'm confused about something.
Questions :
1.- Can you root the HTC Buzz(Wildfire) while still retaining the Stock ROM (with Sense) ?
2.- Can you overclock the stock & rooted rom ?
2.1- (If so) What's the min & max overclock settings on the stock&rooted rom with SetCPU (is it the same as custom roms?)?
3.- Will you lose data, installed apps when you root your wildfire ?
What I want is a normal HTC Wildfire with Stock ROM (at least for now) that is Overclocked for better, faster performance.
Thanks for all your answers and please forgive me for flooding with another noob thread.
1. Yes
2. Yes, if you flash the OC kernel
2.1. Max is 768 mhz, min is 19mhz
3. No
Good luck and have fun
Hi there!
My GTI 5800 is with the froyo 2.2 update from the Samsung Kies.
I like very much how it looks.. colorful icons, colorful settings, everything..
Today i decide to overclock it, but im not sure about some things, and i would like to ask you guys.
1.Should I use custom kernel ? and is it a safe for my phone, also is he will affect my battery consumation?
2. How much i can overclock it ( In MHZ) ?
if you have some experience with that guys please share
And if i overclock it succsessfully, what will be battery lasting difference (if you have already try of course).

1. Yes you can use custom rom i prefer to use G3Mod and it is quite safe and as for battery consumption it depends on how old your battery is i suppose
2. the max i think is 1260Mhz but you can adjust it using setcpu
I think first you'll need to root your phone using 'superoneclick root' (search it in google). Then flash a custom kernel. The guy above says G3MOD but the new G3MOD kernels have horrendous battery drain so for overclocking you should use fugumod ultra (which overclocks to 1366MHz) or fugumod 800MHz (which obviously overclocks to 800MHz).
You can control how high you want the MHz to be using pimp my cpu app (free on play store) or setcpu (paid app on play store).
Your battery life will be about 2 days if you use the 800MHz and 1 or 2 days if you use the 1366MHz one. Whichever overclocked kernel you use, it WILL decrase your battery life.
Click thanks if I helped
first root your device using superoneclick.. fellow instruction in below link..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011555
then flash OC .tar file of G3Mod kernel using odin from there..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26082562#post26082562
after flashing the OC kernel install setcpu to control overclocking frequencies...
if u r new to the flashing then follow the below step..
1) Start Odin (if using windows 7 or vista right click Odin and use run as administrator)
2) Check "One Package" checkbox
3) Check “Reboot” checkbox
4) Check protect ops checkbox (Don’t check this if you are flashing I5801 with I5800 firmware for the first time.)
5) Check reset time checkbox, keep the default value as it is i.e. 300 don’t select any other options.
6) Hit reset files button once.
7) Click ops button and select OPS file for I5800
8) Click one package and select the firmware you want to flash. The file must a .tar file.
9) Now connect your phone to pc.
10) Odin will show yellow color and com port no. in the first box on top in Odin.
11) Click Start and watch the progress bar and timer, wait until PASS message appear on Message box.
12) wait until rebooting phone.
FIRST REBOOT WILL TAKE TIME SO BE PATIENT...
if it helps hit thanks button..

I cannot follow you here...g3mod 2.5 gives you high stability and more battery live than stock. dunno how a custom kernel does things differently, but my last cycle was 4 days. (low usage of course)
IMHO Fugumod kernels are more stable.
667 mhz is the perfect
there is a kernel 1400 mhz but is only for i5801 "g3mod v1.9 extreme"
for i5800 there is a kernel 1336 mhz kernel "g3mod v2.1 oc+"
when the of overclocked to 700 mhz and up the phone finishes the battery very (one or two hours)
at 667mhz overclocked you can surf on the internet play games and more other
for more then 9 hours and have left to you another 50% battery to do with
THE BEST KERNEL IS G3MOD NON-OC V2.4

No offence but you don't have a clue what you're saying. Any kernel on this forum will work on i5800, i5800L and i5801. Also, 667MHz is the normal frequency. It is not overclocked. Anything over 667MHz is overclocked.
The best OC kernel would have to be fugumod 2.4 800MHz in my opinion but some users prefer G3MOD but it causes crazy battery drain for me. Fugumod is overclocked and it also has good battery life and stability.
Press the thanks button if I helped
I changed my opinion and installed Kyrllos 9.6 ROM. I like it. it`s a fast and without any problems.
I use it with G3MOD 2.5 NON-OC kernel and i have good speed and about 2 days battery life.
Now i will try fugumod 2.4 beta3-OC-800mhz kernel. I tested standart version but phone lags. otherwise the battery life i s amazing with it.
P.S
fugumod 2.4 beta3-OC-800mhz causes lag too. I will back to G3Mod 2.5 non-oc
I want to know if exists a kernel with good performance and reliability with overclock possibilities and DT2W on the "market" did anyone found a good one? i want a good kernel specially for gaming and reliability and DT2W if is possible , thank you very much !
EDIT: I tried a benchmark tool but i forgot to close ~6 Apps lol ,bellow is the result , good or not for 5.1 Stock W/ Stock kernel?
No one know a good kernel? come on guys , i trought you guys are specialists .. :silly:
Tried some kernels like AK kernel & franco kernel but both of them are unstable , at least on stock 5.1 ... can anyone please reccomend me a good , stable one ?
I'd suggest you Quanta kernel

Thanks for the reply bud , i want to use a stable one with overclock possibilities , did you use/used it? could you overclock the device with the kernel installed? what about the battery life , i preffer to ask before installing one wich possibly could not be good for the device needs ..
Yeah I'm currently using it with chroma rom.. You can overclock up to 1728mhz but personally I prefer underclocking for great battery life (more than 5h SOT)
Ok , so i flashed the Quanta V3 then tuned with Kernel Adiutor , runned a AnTuTu benchmark , low score ( about 26.600 ) then Quadrant Standard ( 5.713 max ) then Vellamo ( 794 on multicore ) 891 on metal ... i don't know what's wrong .. i overclocked it , changed the governor to performance , locked the frequency , upvolting , nothing , maybe a bit higher score than previsourious ... the best performance i got was with the AK kernel ( see the pic below ) that's the highest score i ever got i don't know what's wrong , maybe because i'm using stock rom? i don't like custom roms not on this phone , at least ... should i use a stock based modified kernel for 5.1.0 ?
Just scored 29999 on antutu by only changing max frequency to 1728mhz and governor to interactive. If I remember correctly AK has higher overclock frequencies so that could be the reason for higher scores

Yes , on AK you can overclock up to 1.944 ghz but it drains much more battery than Quanta , i think it doesen't exist a good kernel a reliable one ... for this momment i preffer stock kernel with stock rom , i don't like custom roms because them are so slow and unstable , the kernels eat to much battery , that's why stock is better here ...
Hi people ...
Buy this model 2 weeks a go ...
I try all the roms on this forum ...
No, go back to stock rom and put again Android MM 6.0
Today, after install Antutu 6.0.1 and Geekbench i run this 2 apps and now i'm posting the results ...
Wath you think about?
stock kernel ? I get around 60.000 on Antutu with the interactive governors. 80.000 with bluActive
Yes ...
Stock kernel without any trick or cheat ...
I think this it's very good and give us potencial to think on some type of overclock with some good sense ...
But why this type of value in Antutu when all the papers give us some less points ?
Diference in hardware in EU version ?
I don't believe ...

I would google each as it sounds like you do not know what you are doing.Inform yourself first before bricking your device
