I don't know what you are thinking...Your company is not gonna give you TWRP/CWM installed for you, nor they are going to unlock bootloader for you. Developers have to make CWM/TWRP to be compatible with this phone (which is not rocket-science). And you have to unlock bootloader by yourself per given instructions, but in many cases, Samsung doesn't need to unlock bootloader differently. All that matter's is the developer's will and determination

Brother I am saying the same thing that the developers have not yet been able to get cwm or twrp for this

[Q] Installing Another country on my note 4 and few questions!

Hi, im tired of waiting for Lollipop on my note 4, i have N910HXXU1ANK5 and i was thinking about flashing the other country's firmware, how much is the risk of bricking my device? i pad 800$ for this and im extremely scared! its so much compared to my previous nexus 4 on my old nexus 4 is was like fastboot unlock and tada! its a bit harder in here and i bricked my old n7000 so i rather be careful this time!
Generally how much is the risk of bricking a note 4! what could cause it! i know in general its wrong firmware but like the old n7000 factory reset on ics would kill it and which it did is there anything special like that with the note 4? just be sure too check rom versions?
and what should i do to install 910C on my 910H? what happens if i do something wrong?(soft or hardbrick?)
sorry if this thread sounds stupid, but im going to be 100% sure before i do this as i paid my whole life savings on this
thanks!
From my understanding of the 910h, it is a 3g unlocked note 4. What service are you currently running it through? I just got the lollipop update from verizon a couple of days ago. Before the update came out I got a taste of what lollipop would be like by switching my runtime in the developer options. After the update there isn't too much of a difference. Just color scheme of messaging and some animated pointer click detection and top and bottom wave animation on screen when fully at the top or bottom while scrolling. If you want to get the same performance with your apps as lollipop is running right now, simply go to developer options in your settings, then select runtime, then change from dalvik to ART. Then you won't have to worry about bricking your phone at all.

Root for my phone isn't available yet. Comes stock with knox. There's actually a bounty for a verizon and at&t root method right now, so I'm going to have to hook mine up to my Linux based computer and see what I can do. The biggest risk is of course bricking your device by installing another country. I've been rooting devices since froyo was being developed. I've bricked and unbricked a few of my own devices. Unbricking is usually not easy. Because your partition is more than likely specifically for 910h you'd have to repartition it for the 910c that you would want to install. Make sure to make a copy of the 910h partition before you start. Also copy all of the .rar, .tar, .md5 files that are on the device currently. Haven't done it for about a year myself, but if I remember correctly there are 5-7 of them. One for the modem, etc.

Lets start, its too hard on todays day to brick a device, there are a lot more work around, its not 2011 anymore, the only thing u need to be able to do right is READING, without insulting nobody if you can read then your fine, reading and following all steps on this forum is a key. You can flash anything u want on ur phone WHILE ITS MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUR N910x MODEL, if ur not rooted yet, go and root it, it takes 2 minutes, remember the key READING, then you can make ur own research by reading the Development section, after u have done rooting and flashing a custom recovery, most people use TWPR, then ur good to go. If you just want a stock experience, then go to sammobile website, search ur model number, and download the stock rom, this you will have to flash it using ODIN, but like a said, by READING, you have NOTHING to worry. Remember if something happens to ur device, this is just to have it in mind,
WHILE U CAN ACCESS DOWNLOAD MODE VIA VOLUME DOWN+HOME+POWER, YOU ARE SAFE MY FRIEND, GOOD LUCK

I think technically, we could see customized stock based ROMs. In fact, if you go to the download page for the pre-rooted firmware, there is a de-bloated version in there already. I think most people aren't super excited by that though. I'm happy to do my own stuff through GravityBox until AOSP is available.

Now that the LG G4 root has been made available, what about the ROMs and such?

Hi, the G4 root was made available today and without asking for ETAs (I know ya'll hate that), I'm curious as to how many ROMs and Kernels you think will be made available for it over time? Do you think that there will be as many available as there were for the G3? I do understand that these things take time and a lot of hard work, and I'll be patient, but I'm still super excited to get mine on stock lollipop and improve the battery life (maybe?).
I'm sure enough will be out soon. Wait a day or three.

I had almost given up hope on my G4, but now. I see the light at the end of that glorious 16MP OIS camera which I have grown to love, roll on the roms and amazing dev support we all saw for the G3.
I just want to know what apps or widgets can I remove from the T-Mobile g4 that will help the phone have a better battery life or have better performance

You cant install roms without a custom recovery, and in order to get cutom recovery you need the bootloader unlocked. Only model currently able to unlock the bootloader is the EU model.

You can unlock the T-Mobile version by checking enable oem unlock under developer options. Once rooted you can use flashify to flash twrp. Its under original android development under the tmobile g4 forums if any other t mobile users need it. I've already used it to create a backup and it's working fine.

Pretty much this.
Root simply means we have access to system files to manage them according to our own liking.
In order to flash ROM's, your bootloader needs to be unlocked. The reason why root was so easily available on the H815 EUR model is because the bootloader was unlockable officially through LG, which meant simply flashing a custom recovery, in this case TWRP, then flashing SuperSU.zip gives you full root access. H815 EUR users have had it good for a while now, I sure envy them! But once a method to unlock the bootloader becomes available, we'll be able to flash custom ROM's and the whole lot. As with anything else - it's just a matter of time.
Just going to hop in here to state that I'll be working to bring AICP to the G4 ASAP.

I honestly do not know why OEM's don't let us do that already. It's so utterly bizarre. In this day and age, we really shouldn't have to go to such extents for slightly more convenient/better looking icons in the status bar.
At least Sony lets its users customise the status bar a bit. My Xperia Z3+ lets me customise what icons are shown, but won't let me move the clock or change the battery icon.
The G4 will be a speed demon if it gets CM12.1 My only worry being the camera and if it'll still produce amazing shots. I know that the physical camera itself with its f1.8 aperture lens is the reason why low light shots are amazing, but I wonder how much of it is down to the software's post processing. Time will tell, I hope.

Why shouldn't we cont on developers to work on this ROM? I see that the Redmi 2 has plenty of custom ROMs available right here on XDA forum.
Sent from my Redmi 3 using Tapatalk
They locked the bootloader for a reason. There has already been reports of Xiaomi refusing to provide an unlock code to users.
Most roms for Xiaomi devices are ports at best with the one exception being the one CM supports. Development teams know this, and on top of their constant gpl violations leave a bad taste.
Don't get me wrong. I hope things work out but in ref to aosp based development there won't really be much
Can anyone tell me what is bootloader for?, why is it important to unlock it?

Nope, rooting the device has nothing to do with the locked bootloader. But I am not entirely sure if there is a way to root the redmi 3 just yet.
Unlocked bootloader is needed for:
- Custom roms that don't use the stock kernel
- Custom kernels
- Non stock-based roms (CM for example)

I am a bit confused about this locking. On most phones i had i initially booted them into fastboot then flashed TWRP then via TWRP flashed custom roms (zips). So which part did they lock ? Fastboot so you cannot flash TWRP or the bootloader itself(TWRP,CWM,etc) (theoretically you could flash it but not access) ? Thanks for clarifying for me.

You can't flash anything at will with it locked. Even in Fastboot it won't work unless signed by Xiaomi. And they are not giving everyone unlock codes. Mainly if you mention you want to remove miui. Also if you are not active in their forums they won't do it.

Nonsense. You can flash (unofficial) full roms using fastboot in download mode, no problem at all...
Only flashing in fastboot mode (recoverys, xposed, custom kernels) wouldn't work with locked bl.
I also don't like the idea of locked bootloaders but, well... you do it once, use unlocked roms and are happy with it. not big of a deal, so stop whining...
Had it on my Razr i, now on the Redmi 3. Got my approval for it after not even 2 weeks at the beginning of february, now waiting for the suitable dev rom to unlock.
Just let it all settle a bit, the device by now is just too fresh out...

Well, I'm sorry to say that it's impossible to work, since the variant degaslte (which contains connectivity, 4G aka LTE) has another processor, so it will not work, you will not be able to install it, the processor of the T230 variant is the Marvell PXA1088, while the T235 (LTE VERSION) has the processor exynos. That is why the development of roms takes a long time for this variant

Hey,
I got some questions , T230nu stock , I have been readin all the threads on twrp and root threads for t230nu pa1, as this stock rom is only good for vids, so i am totally confused how to best load y8ur latest creation 4.4.4 too make this paperweight usable
So ya i am new to droid but really these threads are totally miffed, like whats the deals with twrp? From what i can tell i have to load 2.7.8.4 or under then i can upgrade to 3.1.1.1degaswifi, or do i have to unlock bootloader first, these dang threads just do not explain properly, i have wasted we3k read7ng them, i swear i feel l am dealing with the government circlejrkm one thread says root first ,when i get to end it reveals if you already have twrp, so i goto twrp and read and those threads lead back if you have root and/or prior twrp install ! what gives even the twrp main website is jqcked with the prior install gunk.
Oh and i just love the thread that starts with " I am going too assume you have abd bootloader unlocked allready" REALLY
So can you maybe point me to a proper guide so i can get this paperweight too qctually work because it is my only inet access rite know and the stock rom is horrible

FYI, paperweight in Android terms, means, it is a hard bricked device. The Tab 4 don't have a locked bootloader. Any TWRP for SM-T230 / NU, will work to install my Android 4.4.4 ROM, https://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/development/sm-t230-nu-unofficial-cm-11-based-t3648887.
Secretwolf,
Thanks for the fast reply, for me any device thats basically useless is a paperweight, but i"ll keep in mind that ya"ll use the term meaning for bricked.
So i am going togo buddies today and try to load the lastest twrp, d3gaswifi1100.img . I just cant afford major issues as i dont have easy access to pc to fix it. Seems you and others have been using the eur version is that because the usa doesnt work ?As i am in usa and planned on using that version, i take the eur with incase,
Well gotta give up today as just tryin to type with thing is horr7ble , and i have todo a restore once a week just so the browser will load inet. This keyboard is horrid
