Best Battery life on Stock based ROM? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys! I'm using CloudyStock 2.1 ROM. I was wondering which ROM gave the best battery life, should be based on Stock 4.4.2. I tried using some but they don't compare as that of Stock 4.4.2.
Thanks!
Edit: I have the D802 (International Version).

It seems reasonable enough that stock would provide the overall more stable experience. I think cloudy roms have a custom kernel so technically it's not completely stock. But I believe it would provide substantially better battery as it has all the right parts in the right places. Maybe not... That's just IMHO...
By the way thanks for posting this question. I have been looking for a stock rom to replace the one I am on now and have only been looking in the T-Mobile dev section. I did not realize there were (every variant) roms in the general section. That's great. Have you tried the cloudy pro rom? I wonder how it works since it is a G PRO port...

[Q] Best stock GB with overclocking?

Ok i keep getting nagged to update my g2 I am permrooted using the no adb gfree method. So i have s-off supercid and all that. I want to manually flash a pre-rooted GB rom but I'm hoping for a stock rom with minimal changes. The one exception is I want to be able to overclock, I've been looking everywhere but there are too many options without the specific changes and builds outlined. Just a little confused and looking for advice on a rom that will fit what I'm looking for. I'm happy with the stock feel just want to overclock basically. Any ideas?
BOO! no one has any recommendations?
Xboarder56's stock 2.3 + enhancements can be overclocked and is pretty much just stock AOSP.

Sorry I'm new to some of this lol, but its that off the new ota build? Also does it make a difference? I have a stock rooted rom dvds it works great but I want the option of over clocking just because I can't help myself plus its awesome. I have pretty much every thing I own overclocked lol. free power is epic

CM7 and xboarder56's are both based on AOSP 2.3.5, the latest android release. There's no need for them to be based off of the OTA build because they've been compiled from AOSP source (and been around before the OTA was even a thought). For this reason we've had things like CM7 2.3 ROMs since January on the G2. Nearly every ROM in the dev section will have custom kernels that allow overclocking, though (except the bone stock pre-rooted OTA Builds, they're pretty much stuck atm).

Find the radio thread in the dev section. I recommend flashing the radio intended for the T-mobile 2.3 OTA.
is that radio Vision_Radio_12.52. 60.25_26.08.04.30 ? Also, I flashed the bone stock pre rooted. My thing was I wanted to keep the stock look for now. Just to keep it simple, plus I like it. I will probably flash virtuous when they come out with a new update.

Yes thats the T-Mo US OTA radio.
ROMs like CM7 and other AOSP ones are very close to stock. The G2 ships (and OTAs) with an almost stock ROM, so anything built from AOSP will be very similar.
Something like CM7 will be much quicker and efficient with tons of extra improvements, but look very similar.

[Q] G2 Untouched stock Android

I am in dilemma between Nexus 5 and LG G2. Their price is same in my country. But I really love the stock Android experience, but I don't like Roms like CM.
So is there any ROM which is untouched stock Android, just like Nexus 5?
Thanks.
EDIT: Wow, I am actually surprised that there is no, untouched vanilla stock android Rom for such phones.
Is it not possible to do or ...?

Well if you want an untouched ROM, I'm assuming what you want is root access. What you can do is just root your G2 and then you'll have an untouched stock ROM but still have root access.

Yea, but I don't want LG ui, I want the Rom to be just like Nexus 5 and untouched. Is there any such thing?
So can I somehow use one of the ROMs from here (untouched, but just modified for G2)?:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
Absolutly not I would also like stock vanilla android on my G2, but as of now I can't find a stock rom without annoying bugs(horrible stock camera, random reboots, bad sound quality) i ran mahdi-rom for a couple of days, but reverted to a lg stock based rom because of battery life and stability. My goal is to get a pure vanilla bugfree stock rom, but I guess I just have to wait.. :/ FYI: N5 and G2 cost the same here as well, but i chose G2 because of better lense and bigger battery. I figured that I could change the software on my G2, harder to change the hardware of the N5

Not true. @houstonn has an awesome ASOPA Rom that runs beautifully on my G2. Plain vanilla for the taking...:victory:

But it's still touched right? Not exactly N5 ROM I guess?
Untouched aosp is the base upon which PA and aokp and cm etc are built. If you are looking for something akin to the nexus 4 conversion that was available for the Optimus g, it doesn't exist. The nexus 5 and the g2 are similar, but not as alike as the n4 and Optimus g are.

[Q] LG MiniView on stock?

Cloudyfa's CloudyStock 1.3 contains a feature I really like ported from the G2 pro, MiniView. But since I don't have time to flash custom roms and play around with backups, has anyone taken this feature out of the rom and turned it into a flashable feature (such as the Xdabbeb's enhanced camera or multiwindow)? If it has not been done yet, can anyone tell me if it is feasable and/or how to do it?

Even I have the same question?

I'm petty sure it could be made into a mod that can be flashed and best way to do is to ask cloudyfa what are the needed files and what needs to be modified or ask cloudy if he plans on doing so in the near future

[Q] what is the best custom rom based on stock kitkat for LS980?

i'm a veteran HTC user, and i'm looking for a rom for my wife's sprint g2. I'd like it to be fast and clean (rather than overly customized with a zillion options ala CM), de-bloated and better battery life if possible. there seems to be a lot of different roms for the different variants, but its all confusing, and the sprint g2 seems to get the least amount of roms of all the g2 variants.
i have flashed twrp 2.7, done a fresh nandroid backup, and i'm currently rooted on ZVC running stock 4.4.2.
thanks in advance!
in before the lock. I can honestly say Mahdi and Omnirom are my favourite.
now check if your nandroid has efs backup and put on computer also grab a copy of the rom the backup was made on.
oh and dont ota on custom recovery, softbrick guarantee doing that
best ls980 rom
The best rom i have flashed and used with no issues is SuperG2 preview
I'm using PARDUS 7.4. Very satisfied.

Note 5 debloated ported rom vs stock debloated rom

Hi, i remember reading somewhere that note 5 ported custom rom have worst battery life than stock debloated rom.
Is it true and why?
Sent from my SM-A710f using XDA-Developers mobile app
Ported ROMs are generally more buggy, with less battery backup, that is true, cause they are ports, where stock ROM will be better in everything except number of features, that's a normal thing, but if some dev is really smart then a port could actually be as good as stock, or maybe even better, but I don't know any such ROM.
