[Q]Something blocking FF Camera problem - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I woke up this morning, looked at my phone and saw something was wrong with the ff camera. If I try to take a selfie (I don't but sometimes it calls for it with friends) half the screen is blacked out because you can clearly see that this object is blocking it. I don't know what happened but can someone shed some light on this? I've never dropped it before...

Op updated. Bump and all.

Sms / Text Issues

Has anyone running stock firmware ever notice their messages being repeatedly sent, my other half recieved 13 of the same message within an hour.
This has been driving me crazy since I got the phone.
Apparently there is a software problem, which has since been fixed.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, I went through this entire thread and couldnt find a similar post.
Just thought I would give a quick heads up to anyone else having the same issue.
Not an issue currently with the Sprint Snap S511, but I have experienced this before on my Old MotorolaQ9c/Samsung ACE... I thought it was a service thing, i'll keep a look out for this on my Snap.
Thanks!

Time Change for Weather

Hello all,
I have not been able to locate a fix for this.
I am running Dutty HDWM6.5LeoR7 and am pleased for the most part but I have an annoying issue. (At least to me it is)
The Weather updates fine but the sun and the moon are out of sink of sorts. The Sun will still be showing until say 8:30pm even though it gets dark around 6:30 or 7pm. Then the moon will still be displayed until 8:30 or 9am even thought the sun shines at 6.?????
Any help on changing these time settings?
Thnx

Weather

Do not know if anyone facing this issue but my hd2 shows wrong forecast. It shows sunny during night time. I have done soft reset and also changed roms but same results. Even in android Rom it's doing something. Does anybody know any fix for that?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Also happened for me.
after trying to update a couple of times, all of a sudden i saw the sun!
Maybe HTC didn't feel like waking up this morning.
Hi,
same to me this morning (Germany). It looks like a bug from accuweather.com.
Same here in Atlanta. It's been like this all night. It's almost 7am here. I work at night and noticed it later into the evening.
In Italy too. It was night "all day" until now. I think accuwather didn't want to wake up even if, with today's weather, night icon was correct for the light we have outside. Autumn has come

G2 Locking up and strange cursor behavior

I got my G2 today, and I'm pretty happy with it. I haven't messed too much with the hinge, but it seems pretty solid and I'm not very worried about it.
However, this evening, after a few hours of usage, I noticed the phone locked up hard, twice, within 30 minutes of each other. Within another 30 minutes, it rebooted itself spontaneously. This has me pretty worried, but I was in an area of the house where I only get edge, and reception goes in and out frequently. So its possible some type of radio reset thing was going on causing it to crash.
If that is the problem, I can probably deal with it. Hopefully its not a sign of a larger problem.
Another annoying thing happened to me later in the evening when I was trying to write an email. The cursor kept moving to different widgets on the screen or moving the text cursor up and down and left and right while I was writing the email, almost as if an invisible person was playing with the arrow keys. I realized I was sitting in such a way that the optical mouse was pointed directly at my ceiling light, so I'm guessing that was the problem, when I moved, I think the problem went away.
Anyway, just a word of caution to be on the lookout for similar behavior.
Let me know if you've seen anything like this with your G2.
Im having the same problem. I guess its just the way it senses "touch" (or light).
See my thread in this section (G2 Light Sensor Trackpad Issue), I can't post links yet. But there is a video in there showing why.
I think I can live with the cursor sensitivity, now that I know what it is and that other people have the same problem, I can just move the phone a bit and it will go away.
Its also something that can be tweaked or fixed in software hopefully.
The locking up / crashing worries me. If its just a bug with going in and out of radio signal, they can fix that in software too, but if it is a hardware problem, I'll be pretty pissed.

1/3 of display acting up

As of yesterday about 1/3 of my screen is acting up randomly. It may flicker, it may be brighter or darker than the rest, or it may be fine. These states can change at any time but most of the time it is still fine. The area that is misbehaving, is above the PK when the slider is closed. Slider open/close has no effect on the screens behavior.
I have a STV100-1 (Nov2015) unlocked from BlackBerry on the AT&T network. It isn't rooted and is current on it's updates. I use a stock launcher and the PK. I have keyboard gestures turned off. My screen does not auto-dim. Although I can't shut off BatterySaver, I have set it so that it does nothing if it starts. I haven't dropped it recently and it does live in a case.
I have shut off advanced interactions and run VBE. I have rebooted as well as shuttting down and restarting.
I don't have any dead pixels and my screen is mostly crisp and clear. My Pre showed similar problems after water had gotten into my keyboard but my Priv has not had anything of the sort happen.
Any help would be appreciated.
Just an update.
Over several days the problem got worse. It got to where part of the screen was brighter and flickering all of the time.
Then suddenly, the other morning my Priv was fine and has been since.
I don't understand it. I can't find any updates or changes to coincide with the problem beginning or ending.
The only thing I can think of was the problem began when I tried to cancel my warranty/repair coverage and ended when I charged and set up my old phone expecting to loose my Priv. Conspiracy theories anyone?
Considering the timing of this to occur, I would assume that it was a terribly timed April Fools prank on you.
Same issue
I've got the same issue. Seems that it might be triggered for some after an OTA update. Resetting did not help. It comes and goes, but of late occupies all of the screen. Have you found a workaround?

amaan6999,
I'm sorry I never found an answer. My screen varies from perfectly fine to solid green. I tried tracking different factors and taking different actions but nothing is consistent.
When the screen is warmer it behaves better, so don't leave it in the cooler. (That's the only advice I have.)
I had a chance to buy a new unlocked STV100-1 on clearance, so that was my solution. I figure I have bought myself time before this one goes bad.
Good luck.
