Hi, this might be a stupid question but I've searched and haven't found an answer. Would my Droid Razr M recieve the 4.4.2 ota since I flashed it to use US gsm using radiocomm? thanks

Yes. But you'll have to go through the process again to enable domestic GSM usage.
Or use cdma workshop

just so I'm sure i understand it correctly...I'll just have to flash the radio with radiocomm using the same method as before..or will 4.4.2 need a different method then 4.1.2? thanks in advance

Thanks, and sorry if this qualifies as a "use the search function" question - for the record I tried that route.
Okay, 96 views and no responses, so it must be a stupid question... I just don't know if that's a yes or no, and I've been Googling, but no one talks in terms of Moto firmware when talking about the bootloader...
Looks like that's the older firmware, so you should be able to. Try rooting it first. If that works, you ought to be able to unlock the boot loader as well.

Thanks, I eventually came to that conclusion as well, since the update everyone says to avoid is a higher number than what I'm getting.

I was using original stock 4.1.1 version + http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2166542&highlight=98+18+94 to use xt907 on t-mobile.
Yesterday, I used RSD to restore the 4.1.1 version and OTAed to the latest 98.30.1.XT907.Verizon ROM. Then the t-mobile sim does not work any more, and the original method does not work.
Then I tried to downgrade 4.1.1 version using RSD, and failed. Then I'm stuck in the fastboot mode...
My question is:
1. Is there a way that I can get out of fastboot mode? Which rom should I use in RSD to restore?
2. Is there a way that I can downgrade to earlier version?
3. Is there a way that I can still use t-mobile sim card?
Thanks
You might be able to use the droid razr m utility but I'm no expert in it. I've just dabbled around in all of this. Wait for some insight from Rikrong or someone of the sort.

Poppers, you're on point. However, there's no Razr M utility for the latest update. You can use House of Moto from DroidRzr or flash the latest OTA with RSD.
Daniel, since you updated to .1, you can't downgrade. Just grab the last FXZ from SBF or use House of Moto to clear the fastboot fail. If your battery is low, you need to make sure it's charged before fastbooting.

Link to FXZ's for restore, use the last one on the list:

Thanks RikRong! I managed to use house of moto to reset the system to the latest VRZ_XT907_9.8.1Q-94-1. Now the phone works. But I still cannot use t-mobile sim card. And the original method described in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2166542&highlight=98+18+94 does not work on the latest ROM.
Any idea if there is a way that I can use t-mobile on it? Or my best bet is to sell it on craigslist?
Thanks,

That method should work, though I don't know much about it. You might want to post in the thread. You should be able to get the phone to work on T-Mobile.
I'm on 98.30.1 and on T-Mobile. I used that tutorial also.

I am from India. I am using xt926 with MTS omh with evdo data n voice. I want to to know if i update my handset to KitKat officially with stock ota firmware will i get the evdo data n voice with mts omh as earlier?
I am with locked bootloader n rooted(with system version 9.16.6). I am really a noob in matter related to flashing. N i don't want to unlock bootloader. I want to use the official firmware through ota method just like i updated my phone with 4.1.2 from 4.1.1 earlier.
So is it safe for me upgrade because hsd data n voice through Indian cdma operator's omh is my primary requirement(i need this) n i don't want to mess my phone with complicated process?

I'm also using CDMA and I can confirm u that my Evdo data works fine without glitches. Voice and text is normal just like on JB. Signal strength is much better and battery life on cdma is a lot better. I'm glad that I flash KitKat official on my Maxx HD coz it performs smooth and fast.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Btw which Indian cdma operator u r using with maxx hd? Omh based or programming based?
N how you got kitkat? Directly download the ota by phone(normal updates process) or by following any flashing tutorial? If you followed any tutorial can you pls share the link! Thanks in advance.

Nope..I'm from Indonesia. My operator is Smartfren with RUIM.
I downloaded the OTA directly on PC and copied it to my sdcard and follow instructions here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2749157
Been using Kitkat for a week and I'm really satisfied with it. The only drawback I think is the blur launcher which is not transparency anymore. I replace it with Nova launcher prime.
Do you already had unlocked bootloader before upgrading to KitKat or you have locked bl till now?
So you are able to use both evdo n voice with ruim with your xt926 now like earlier! Hope i will able to do so.

I have a locked one. It works just like used to be. And I notice my CDMA operator can be displayed correctly after flashing KitKat. It used to be displayed as unknown text.
I want to root my Razr M and need assistance as I've never rooted a phone before. Could someone link me a safe guide that I can use? My phone is that "Not for sale. Motorola Mobility Confidential Restricted Property" version and it apparently can't seem to detect any kitkat update(even though razr m has the update). So I'm going to root it and update it to kitkat. I'm not a noob per say, just that I haven't ever rooted a phone and have least bit knowledge about cellphones.

Everything has the potential to go bad. So, if you're not willing to accept that, modifying is not for you. With that being said, Sam's update is easy to use if you follow the directions. Once updated, root and unlocking the bootloader are also easy.

Is there any hope on rooting 183.46.15. is it Verizon that locks bootloaders and patches kernels because i have also have a verizon note 2 with locked bootloader and patched kernel. But some people were able to make root scripts for this phone running on JB and KK although their bootloaders were locked and kernels patched. I have rooted my phone running KK but cant flash custom recoveries/ROMs.
Right now, there are no exploits. Making another post about it isn't going to speed things along, either.

Asking about root/unlock again isn't going to change the outcome. There is nothing right now.
