I have a strange problem using Outlook e-mail to check my exchange mail. I believe I have it set up correctly and I am able to send and receive messages using Active Sync. However, the send/receive option is grayed out in my exchange mail folder. If I want to receive an attachment or send a message I have to go into Active Sync and press sync. I also have a Gmail account on there and the send/receive option works fine. I have a TyTN and I am using AKU 3.3 on Cingular. Any suggestions?
are you sure you're on Outlook e-mail when you're on the e-mail section? I have exchange 2007 and mine functions fine
I'm using Outlook e-mail. I setup the exchange mail under Active Sync -> Configure Server. When I go into Outlook e-mail, my exchange mail appears there with an asterisk as it always has.
I think that Exchange 2007 has the Send/Receive option, but previous versions do not. I think you have to either sync or set it to sync every xx minutes. Push may accomplish this, but I don't use push.
It works properly if I do a hard reset. The send/receive option works. But I don't have the time to reinstall all my software right now so I restored a backup and if I don't find a solution I will hard reset and start from scratch at a later time.
Still, I wonder if it is a compatibility issue with any software I installed recently. The two new programs I installed are SPB Mobile Shell and an upgrade to iGuidance 3.01.
Silly question, is Exchange 2007 a program for WM5 or are you referring to the desktop software? I have an exchange account through my job and I simply set my exchange account in Active Sync. Thanks for your suggestions.
Exchange 2007 is the latest Exchange server software running in your office.
Hi as in Title can you have two outlook accounts on device?
I have my private one and work one and would like to have bought.
When I start outlook on my PC it asks me which profile to use, when I sync for first time I get the same question so I select one of them. After sync is done and I try to sync again with second one I get an error. Also as work one is exchange I tried to setup exchange account that does not work to well any help on that (it does not even have half of PC exchange account setup options).
Is there a way to setup exchange account on PC and sync those settings?
No, you cannot "sync" two Outlook (Exchange) accounts via ActiveSync at the same time. However I assume you are not using exchange on your private mail, but rather POP3 og IMAP. If so, you can set up additional email accounts on your phone. I recommend that you add an IMAP account (if your private email supports that) and set it to check for new emails regularly.

Hi at the moment I have my POP3 private account synced with outlook 2007. To be exact e-mails, notes and contacts. I want to sync my calendar and task manager with my company Exchange server. I have all details needed to setup outlook on my pc and for exchange web access.
Any ideas?
When i click on messaging i used to have set up outlook email there. For some reason it is gone. Is there anyway to get this back so i can sync with my exchange server??
Thanks in advance
If you go into active sync, you should be able to resetup the intial exchange connection again.
Created a corporate exchange account to sync with my work account. While the contacts and email sync over successfully, no calendar entries were synced over. Anyone knows why?
hmm... intersting, i've yet to try to sync it to an Exchange server.
but my stuff on Google Calendar syncs perfectly fine.
because Gmails server = my Exchange server
too lazy to install MS Exchange just to test this out.
but as far as i recall... Exchange doesn't really have a calendar service, the calendar invites and alerts are from Outlook
if you use Exhange without Outlook, it's just a plain mail server, no calendar no memopad
But that works on my wife's iphone 3gs. Her phone is able to sync the calendar entries directly from exchange
have you tried the TouchDown App?
that should do the trick
supposedly Froyo will come with better Exhange support out of the box
So I was planning on using K9 in place of the stock email client but low and behold it appears that K9 and hotmail don't play nice together. I can only seem to get hotmail connected as a POP3 account. Does anyone know if there is any way to get K9 connected to hotmail as either IMAP or exchange?
I've tried manually setting it up as IMAP and Exchange with m.hotmail.com and m.live.com as the server with the default ports but nothing seems to be working.
Suggestions along the lines of forward mail to gmail, gmail is better, etc etc that don't involve K9 connecting to hotmail directly are not necessary. I know all of the other "options" but I need to either connect K9 to hotmail directly or not use k9 and stick with the stock email client (which I'm hoping I can switch to k9).
Well it appears that NO ONE has figured it out because K9 (and the paid Kaiten) don't support Exchange ActiveSync which newer versions of exchange and apparently Hotmail Exchange uses.
So anyone have another email replacement client that is as good as K9 that I could consider to replace the stock mail app? Requirements are the ability to connect directly to hotmail, a couple IMAP servers and a corporate Exchange server all at the same time with a unified inbox.
