720T - MSL how-to - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Got my MSL today. Only affter much searching, reading many discouraging posts and sadly thinking a call to the big yellow company was the only way to get it.
1 - copy attachment to device
2 - install .apk
3 - have an active internet connection
4 - hack away
This ought to work with many other devices.

Meaning running the app did give you the MSL or the running app did not give you the MSL?
.

Gave me the msl
Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk

It's giving me an MSL, but it is incorrect and my phone reboots after 3 failed MSL attempts

Has anyone been able to change the MSL on this phone?

Change it manually in Phone settings.
Check this thread. I posted about it a few days ago. Long story short, setting it up through the website worked for me.

Unlock play store for nexus 7?

I've searched google and it keeps taking me to market enabler which is only for gsm. I'm trying to get a sprint specific app. I've tried the spring codes, don't work. Is there another way of doing this?

Yea tried that.. like I said. That's only for gsm carriers does not work for sprint. I tried several custom codes and none of them work. The app is an NBA app only available through sprint. My friend has it for his phone but wants it for his tablet

It isn't possible to side load it via Titanium Backup? Or is the tablet version different from the phone version?

Unless its an app that updates all the time side loading isn't a bad way to do it. In your case that seems like the least headache solution for now.

Guess you missed this part of the article
" To protect your SIM card with a PIN, go to Settings > Security > SIM Card Lock > Set Up SIM Card Lock. Tick the checkbox for the “Lock SIM Card” option. You’ll be asked for the default SIM PIN, which should have been provided to you by your network operator. Do not input the wrong PIN more than thrice, or else you could lock yourself out of your SIM and will need to input the PUK code. "

Straight Talk AT&T

I ordered a AT&T Straight Talk SIM card off of eBay. It was adversitied as brand new and the pictures showed the package as if it was in any store. It was shipped through the mail taped to a letter with instructions of activating it on an iPhone. It had the SIM card # and a Straight Talk "dummy" serial # to use. I figured I'd use it since it was there instead of my Nexus' serial #.
I went through the activation online and everything went smoothly. I did a factory reset on my phone, inserted the SIM card and went through the setup.
It's been about 4 hours now and I'm still getting no signal. I have tried different APN settings found on Google and forum search results on here and other tech forums. Still nothing? I even tried to set the settings in *#*#INFO#*#* to GSM only and LTE/GSM Auto but it will always reset to WCDMA preferred after resetting trying different APNs.
I called customer support twice. The first guy just did the "I need to gather your information" process for first callers then told me they're busy and to call back in 2-4 hours. The second time, a woman asked me to remove the battery while its still on. It took me about 15 minutes to explain to her that I have a Nexus 4 and not the "dummy" phone I activated with. She then told me there's nothing she can do because nothing problems show up on my account.
What do I do? You guys told me AT&T SIM cards still work, they're just not sold in stores. ;_;
I just activated another ST att Sim this morning..
Did you use the APN settings from the straight talk n4 thread ?
Also why would you use a dummy phone/ I have never did that.

What are your APN settings? From reading, a lot say att.mvno or whatever no longer works.
Did you get the unlimited plan?

I saved them. I input your settings. When I restart, it still says "NO SERVICE" then goes to "EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY"
I know it's not that I don't have service because I'm not even connected to the network and I still have no phone number in my phone details. But my account on the website shows my phone number and everything.
I guess I can buy another card and activate it again?
Sounds like a sim issue.

My iPhone is through Ntelos which is CDMA. I got the Nexus to get out of contract carriers. T-Mobile only has Edge/2G in my region so I ordered an ATT SIM off eBay.

Don't need MSL for this method if my memory serves me right.
