Apologies if this question has been asked before. Can I update cm11 m3 to cm11 m6 from the settings or do I have to update it manually from the recovery? And if I do update it from the settings, are there any drawbacks?

I always use recovery, just seems easier. There was a problem with updater a while back, may be resolved by now. This is on EMMC, SD installs update differently.

I have galaxy s4 with stock room from sprint. I had rooted it and installed twrp custom recovery. I was trying to update the phone with OTA update but it rebooted to twrp and that is it. I tried looking for update/zip to install but nothing, update check says it was updated.
Did the update still install somehow?
If not, Where is it downloaded to update or recommend an update method?
I am also concerned about losing root. How can I avoid that in the future?

Oh, I did not know. thanks.
Noob Here. I have a CM 10.2 Nightly flashed (last weeks version) and I wish to update as it contains some fixes. Have I got to factory reset, wipe cache..etc? or do i simply flash the new nightly? also will I lose all my apps?
Thanks

If you just flash the new nightly (and I'd reflash the gapps too) you don't need to wipe anything and you won't loose ant data
Sent from my Nexus 4 running Android 4.3

Ok cool. I have couple of questions if you don't mind.
What do I flash first? ROM or GAPPS?
I heared some nightlies have issues, is there somewhere I can look to find them?
Will I need to reflash Franco Kernel?
thanks

Hi All,
First post ever on xda Hope this thread is where it should and nobody posted something similar (I checked)
I'm running 4.3 JWR66Y and everytime I try to install Paranoid Android 3+ (pa_mako-3.99-RC2-20130920 or pa_mako-3.93-20130805)I get a NO SERVICE and UNKNOWN BASEBAND.
I do a factory reset, I have the latest radio and bootloader, install ROM and GAPPS, wipe cache, dalvik, reboot and the result is always the same. Wifi works, but there's no baseband and no network.
I backed up and I restored back to stock 4.3, rooted, and everything works fine without the PA.
Does anyone have/had the same problem, or know how to fix this ?
Should I downgrade to 4.2.2 ? (I get annoyed with the "there's a new system update bla bla")
thank you and hopefully someone can help me out.
thanks!

i saw somewhere that lastest cwm / twrp are causing issues , try with different versions(like if not on lastest update it or vice versa) or use philz cwm or multi rom twrp.
Hey guys i have an i9300 intl s3 and i am using the OmniROM Nightly build updates...
one bug to report if you will, i cant root the rom, i have tried Odin and Kingo but to no avail.
this means i cant get SU privileges and most of all, i cant auto update to the latest nightly and have to manually keep upgrading daily to the latest build, regardless to say, this means reloading all my stuff again, everyday.
Could you help a fellow out and try check on why we cant root the OmniROM 4.4 yet?
Please read the OP in your devices' OmniROM thread. I'm rather sure there's a word about flashing su or SuperSu right there.

Why the heck are you using root exploits when you can just flash SuperSU in recovery?
