Hello.Does anybody have problem with "unglued digitizer"(touch screen sticking a little)from black frame, bottom and the both sides below camera.
Well, now that you say it : my screen seems to stick out a little bit more where the camera is. But only noticeable when going over it with the thumb. I also have a anti-glare screen installed, so that effect gets increased.
But oh well. I knew that the built-quality isn't the best before I bought it, so I don't complain.
Fake edit
when looking from the side I can see the display protection sticking out where the camera is. But not on the other end of the tablet.

With all of the new HTC devices the screen is inline with the case, so that it doesn't have a lip around the edge.
Has anyone got any ideas for a way of getting the same effect on the trinity by modding the case? I want a seamless edge for usability more than asthetics so any ideas would be welcome
I was thinking either a thick screen protector or physically altering the shape of the case.

A (really) thick screenprotector would hamper the function of the touchscreen and probably dim all the colours, so that would not be an option. Altering the case itself might be possible, but would require some serious plastic molding skill though..
I'm afraid your stuck with the edge, allthough you could paint it
(but I'm not really creative or skilled, so others might think it possible)
Testing...
Well I was thinking of getting a white case soon anyway, due to my current one (black) being a bit battered and having the peeling paint issue.
I decided to do some testing to try and put a smoother transtion between the screen and case edge. At the moment I have only done the bottom left corner just by sanding.
I don't think it will ever get to the point of being in line with the screen but having a more gentle angle had improved the usability so far.
E.g. With pocketCM keyboard I cud never get to the corner keys accuratly because of the edges, but now I seldom find myself making mistakes.
If people are interested or have found the same problem I will continue to post my progress.
I was wondering if there was any place I could get a replacement screen cover, but not the entire screen (which looks to run ~$70). It seems like there is a piece of plastic over the screen itself and I was wondering if there is a way to replace JUST that piece of plastic.
Mine is scratched to hell.
Thanks.

I thought the screen was one unit. I haven't heard of a cover over the screen besides the one that comes on the phone from the factory, which I removed before using the phone. I've had my tilt for about 6 months or longer and dont have any scratches on the screen, well some tiny light ones but then again the phone gets a ride in my pocket alone without anything in there to damage it.
edit:... oh you wanted the actual touch screen... buy the one in your link :dunno:
I guess the question is - if your screen is scratched - which piece is actually the top most? I assume it is the digitizer/touch screen layer.

Yeah, thats how most touch screens are setup if not all. They're just the touch sensor matrix which is clear infront of the LCD panel.
i got a screen cover with my tytn 2 which im sure are very cheap to pick up less then $1 but i mainly have a problem with dust getting under the side of my screen im sure you all know where i mean
im sure a screen protector costs less than £1 i got one through with my phone but i couldnt put in on without bubbles so i left it and i have noticed i have scratches on my screen being left alone aside my wallet in the pocket of my jeans. but im sure a good polish with dvd cleaner or even brasso (works wonders on psp screens) could clean up those scratches... i recommend dvd cleaner cause brasso would make a mess and also get down the sides of the screen like random crap does anyway... i found a part of a leaf there a few times you would have thought such a big opening would have been sealed my htc?
Having replaced my LCD, I can tell you that the plastic screen is indeed part of the LCD, and is not a removable component.
I have it my hand right now, and it seems there's no way to break apart the lcd into its components (lcd, digitizer, and plastic).
If you're determined to fix it, you'd have to buy a new screen.
if we speaking about the thin film, i recommend you either buy original htc or 3m product the size is 2.8"
the dvd cleaner is great idea to clean as one of the boys suggested
buy an anti-glare - so u can use it outdoor natural light conditions
get a rough texture if u use the stylus for handwriting
these are some tips and good luck man
Does anyone know if the the leo has an anti-scratch screen (like the HTC Hero, iphone do)?
or should we still use a screen protector like for the current blackstone?
It seems not...according to this unboxing video (no screen protector in the box)
www.solopalmari.com/news/windows-mobile/7547-htc-hd2-unboxing-esclusiva
Might be because it doesn't need one, what do you think?
I think it is an prerelease Version. Let us see, what will be in there...
When you go here you can read that there should be an pocket in the box...
It's likely that the HD2 has a glas display. Maybe that's already enough scratch resistant

I don't think it's a prerelease I did see the "htc pro three" on the back of the device on this video

Don't know where you saw that. In the video you can clearly see that there is NOT that prototype print, but instead the little one on the bottom of the battery cover (probably saying "with HTC Sense"). Look at the video beginning when they take out the device, and at 2:43 when they take off the plastic cover from the back =)
There you go:

...it's a glass display, therefore if you're going to scratch it with a key or whatever, then it will be scratched also with a tiny plastic film on it...
...moreover, as a capacitive screen, it would avoid proper finger contact.
...once again, it would decrease the brightness.
it wouldn't impact the finger contact too much. capacitive screens 'project' a field above the glass (which is why they are used in industrial apps where you can have a touchscreen monitor with inch thick glass on it)
and in some cases the screen protector can cut down on glare and help the screen's viewability in strong daylight

I also agree with Iso because wen guys you see HTC sell this kind of High end device in that kind of very simple box no HTC logo with this device with a huge demand and also no user manual,no software CD,ect.just think this is the first windows phone with capacitive screen, using HTC sense and 1 GHZ.
Just got the phone, and the screen is a finger print magnet, when fingers are a little moist, it's difficult to move around the screen, AND I was beginning to get hairline scratches-I panicked to the T-Mobile store and purchased (16 bucks) 2 screen protectors and boy what a difference. The protector has a bit of a matte finish, gives the screen a bit of a grainy look to it. But in no way affect the screen sensitivity. In fact, it makes it easier to glide accross the screen, no finger smudges, and best of all-no worries about scratching the screen!

I just carry mine in the leather pouch it came with.
You get used to removing it after a week..
I don't have a screen protector on mine, just the silicone case it came with. Been putting it in my pocket for 2 months now, no scratch, still mint condition.
No Problem with mines
I have a silicone case on it and no screen protector. I purchased the phone the first day it came out and the guy who was ringing me up told me that the screen is made to be scratch resistant. That's why mines never got scratched along with the guy above me. I still was like should I buy a screen protector to be safe? He said, when he orders his, he's not putting one on. SO I was like okay. lol and it's still all fine and well.
I've got a cheapo screen protector from HK (good ol' fleabay) as it cuts out reflections a lot.
I don't know how to explain this. The corner of the screen is somehow 'broken'. I am not familiar with the construction of such an LCD display. I thought it was the screen protector....but it isn't, I can see by pressing with the finger that it is BELOW the surface, and it is not a bubble of the screen protector. Also the nexus 7 surface is one single surface, and there would be no reason why the screen protector would lift exactly in that point. It has something to do with the real display, below the glass surface. See photos.
The colours are displayed correctly. Also the problem is not visible on high brightness or lighter colours. But i simply hate it not having everything in the right shape, as much as i hate dead pixels (I luckily haven't for the moment).
Would this be a good reason to have it replaced by warranty?
The device comes from 'Mediaworld' which is a chain in europe (or mediamarkt, in germany). Would I have to remove ROOT before I go and ask?
So my friend gave me his old sgs5 for free because it is missing the battery and back plate, both of which i ordered off amazon and are arriving later today, i have a question about the amoled panel
the glass of the digitizer is flawless, no cracks to be seen whatsoever and is very smooth and scratch free to the touch; however, inside on what i can assume only to be the amoled panel itself, (unless there is another thin layer of glass between the GG3 and amoled display , which i am not sure of) on the very top right corner and about 1.5-2mm in, there is a small hairline fracture that cuts the corner, also, there is a very small fracture of the same type on the top of the panel about two-thirds of the way to the left that extends roughly 1.5-2ish-mm down the screen, but ends without cutting back to the edge of the screen.
my question is this; When i recieve the battery and back plate today in the mail, will i put it together only to find that i get no video on the amoled at all? or simply black screen except for that tiny cut-off corner on the top right, as from what i can tell that is where the main video ribbon connects?
the phone has been -somewhat- manhandled, as there are a couple fractures in the glass over the camera and some indentations on the plastic chrome ribbon that encompasses the device on the corners from what i can only assume are drops. Otherwise the device looks to be in perfect working order, and i cannot imagine that it has sustained enough impact trauma to actually hurt anyone on the mainboard if the gg3 screen itself is flawless with no blemishes.
thanks for your time, any insight is much appreciated.

There is a big chance of that happening...
I have an S3 mini screen here that is in almost perfect condition, except for a tiny fracture in the AMOLED panel very similar to yours, and the whole display doesn't turn on.
