Hey everyone. My dad just got a s5 and we synced up his Google account and got all his contacts and stuff on the phone. For some reason every time he makes a call to any of his contacts, the phone automatically puts a + in front of the number which makes it seem like a international call even though he's calling locally. Its really ticking him off and I've looked through the phone and call settings but can't seem to figure it out.
He's using a att straight talk Sim card and I've set up the APN settings from my phone to it so data is working. I changed the network setting from LTE/CDMA to gsm and that still didn't help.
Anyone know what the fix would be to this issue? Thanks

I just checked the APN settings on the phone and it turns out there were no straight talk APN settings put in. My brother had told me he had done it but it turns out he didn't. I put the APN settings in and now the problem went away. Sorry for the thread folks. I'm not sure how to delete the thread.

So I got a Samsung Vibrant and unlocked it to work with AT&T. Data works great (as great as you can get on EDGE) but MMS is another story. I can't seem to send MMS. Any ideas on what I can do?
I use google voice as well, but that doesn't support MMS. I was hoping to send a few messages through the standard texting client on the phone, even though it would charge me per text.
You have to change the SMS/MMS settings to work with AT&T servers. Google it for the right settings.
Just had this problem, the message central phone number for att 321-314-9810 need to be set via settings in messages or you will receive fail to send. Look for reset to default and add numbet.

Weird I got the settings automatically after maybe a few hours of use

Switching from tmo to att I lost this setting and couldn't send any text mesages. Mms setting were fine with the exception of that phone #.

Are you sure that number is correct? The one in my phone is very similar; it's:
+1 312 314 9810
I've googled APN settings and I haven't found anywhere that gets MMS to work properly.
Any other ideas?
Go ino messaging, then settings, then left most soft key and then set phone number. Your phone number is correct.

I am having the little tape icon for voice mail and it won't go away.

make sure you listen to the whole voicemail before ending the call. or just delete the damn thing.
I had this on my Touch Pro2, it turns out it was a damaged SIM card!
Damn damaged similar card?

Did you try pulling down the notification bar and pressing the clear button
G2 cm6.1.1
Call your number. Save a voicemail, then listen and delete it. I had this problem and doing this worked for me.
There is no clear button when I pull it down. I logged out of gv and switched my vm settings to my carrier. The tape icon is for regular vm. When I leave a message it doesn't register. They keep getting stored in gv. If I sign into gv they are all there.
God this is frustrating..
I did put in my old sim card to copy over my phone numbers, could that have anything to do with it?

I had this issue before. I called my carrier and they reset my voicemail inbox which solved it for me.

This, please people - use common sense, its a network issue, not hardware. Call TMO and tell them your MWI is stuck

So i looked around for a bit on here for MMS problems, and i couldn't find anything. When i was running WinMO 6.5 i could send MMS just fine. My friend rooted my phone with Android, and now when i send MMS it just says sending...
and never sends the message. I sent something last night, and when i woke up it still said sending...
Is there a fix for this? i do have MMS service enabled though T-mobile, and i can receive picture messages just fine. I was using stock app for the messaging, but then i though, hmm, i saw one on the market. so i used Handcent and the same problem occurred. Help would be greatly appreciated
edit; now i asked a friend to send me an MMS, and it says downloading and never downloads either!
I also have the same problem. But if you wonna receive the pictures just turn your mobile data on and then go to mms and click download. It should work but this doesn't seem to work with sending the MMS.
Same here, just need to know that modules work together with the mms.apk
Check and see if the data is enabled. That may be a solution.
The thing is I don't have data so I have it off at aall times
Edit: just turned on data for the Lulz to see If it would work, nothin :/

you have to use the ones provided by your phone carrier, he is probably on a different network so the settings wont work

HI all..
I used this thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26277031#post26277031
I got AT&T's VVMail working sweet on my GN7000.
Pay attention to post # 53 for the apk.
Now I am wondering if it will work on my GT6800 as I routinely swap the sim back and forth.
Can a GB/ICS app work on HC?
Would it be dangerous to even try to install it??
Thanks for all replies and comments.
All replies are welcomed and encouraged.
Thanks again
I' ve tried VVM on Tab plus GT-P6200. ( I got a helpful rep to put me on Unlimited (5GB) LTE & VVM plan.)
I got it to set up , put in my password, and it says everything was activated, then it force closes. Im on CM9 alpha.
Im not overly concerned about it. I want to stay as low key as I can, so AT&T doesnt start snooping into my account.
edit: just tried the GNote one and it hangs when I enter voicemail password set up, says please wait with never ending spinning loading circle.
append: make sure you have the proper at&t PTA APN and it works! woohoo. thanks.
Success,*The app works perfectly!Now works great on my GN7000 & my GT6800.
Your account does need a LTE IMEI.and athe VVMAil added..
When signing up, my circle spun too on password..
I called my voicemail/admin/change/turn off passwordd
Then went back and continued the install.
Then it worked.
Then went back and turned the PW back on..
Works.perfect now on both devices.
This is a really good app.
I like it alot.and.use it alot too..
Good luck....

well... now since I have upgraded to 4.0.4 the visual voicemail has stopped..
I think the problem lies within the pta APN settings...
Under "APN" type..
there is no choices as there was in the HC..
There is only a place to type something in...
in HoneyComb.. you could choose "internet+mms".. and tick that box..
on ICS, you have to type something in....
HMMMMM.... I wonder what could it be...
In the US on AT&T using the AT7T visual voice mail app..
Please reply with any questions, comments...or answers.
Thanks again.....

I've been trying to remember how to set the apn type ever since the ICS roll-out to no avail. the straight talk website doesn't include this info. I FINALLY got mms working again! thanks!
Hey guys
so I took the OTA update to 4.3 Im on MK2 and ever since I updated I have had issues when I try to send people mms.. it could be a simple message with an emoji from the iPhone keyboard or an image..
The messages sent perfectly fine before the update. I noticed in my APN settings I only have an ATT Phone APN.. not a APN for messaging or images or whatever, is there anyone on ATT network either pre or post update that has an additional APN in there settings? Could someone post the settings for theirs if they do?
And if I'm not missing an APN then I have no idea what the deal is, does anyone else have this problem? I've searched the forums but nothing I've seen I applied to my situation and the ones that were close I tried but to no avail.
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance,

It should be set up right. What SMS app are you using? Your APN should look like

Yes that's my APN settings... okay well the mms have been sending more successfully recently, however sometimes they just sit there and try to send forever, they won't send or say that they failed sending either.. I am using the stock messaging app.

Yes of course my network data is on. The thing is that even on WiFi the pictures require data to send so typically you send a picture on WiFi you continue to use WiFi but the data emblem will also show up while your message is sent, and even when the pictures just sit there and don't send, the data 4g lte symbol still shows and the message still tries to send..
I dont know what the issue is, but I am going to call AT&T tomorrow because it has been too long for this to be a problem on their network end.
