Samsung Note 3 NC5 Root - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to root my samsung note 3 stock NC5 rom and I have searched and searched but I see a lot of outdated information in relation to other version of kitkat so I'm not sure and can't find any info on rooting a stock NC5 rom. If anybody could point me in the right direction I would greatly apperciate thank you.

So i take it this software version can't be rooted. I was thinking of using chainfires root method but don't want to brick my phone. Any suggestions thanx.

Use chainfire's CF Autoroot, pay attention to your model version, eg: N9005

if there is anyone who can help me root my phone, ill give you any info that you need from my phone,
thanks !
There is no direct root method for KitKat. So, you have to do a partial downgrade to MK2(4.3), root and then install a pre-rooted KitKat ROM.

Let me know if you need more info

You can follow this..

DONT FLASH THE FILES ATTACHED IN THE THREAD.
GET THE SIMILAR FOR YOUR FIRMWARE.
THIS IS ONLY THE METHOD OF HOW TO MAKE TOWELROOT WORK.
Relying on your point that i9507 = i9505. (Almost)
In a simpler way,
Download towelroot on your phone
Get stock kernels of the firmware that you are using right now and of an older 4.4.2 version (say early august)
Flash the kernel of the previous version of 4.4.2.
Use towelroot
Flash latest kernel.
You have root without tripping Knox
If you want to trip Knox (many don't want to trip it and many don't care if it trips) see for chainfire's cf-autoroot flashable via odin.
Or
If you have philz recovery for your phone, flash philz and then in recovery-philz options-reroot your phone.

ATT S5 help/info

Hey everyone,
I'm new here but have a decent knowledge base on what i'm looking for. I recently acquired a Galaxy S5 (ATT). Model is : G900A. It's on Android 4.4.4. I'm having a tough time tracking down specific information for this device. What i'm looking for:
1. A root option aside form Towelroot, as it doesn't support my device and I can't seem to find another that would support the ATT version.
2. Does this root option trip knox?
3. Which Recovery software would be best suited for this device if any at all?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm hoping the information i've found is outdated and i'm just missing something but any additional info would be helpful or at least give me better insight to the position S5 rooting is at. Thanks!
Is there anyone with this knowledge?
Check the att galaxy s5 general section there are threads about this. Quick summary for you though, the only option is towelroot but you need to downgrade, towelroot does not trip knox, the only recovery availanle is safestrap and you can only flash tw based roms so no aosp or aokp or CM.

Thank you so much for the rundown. I've looked further into it and had a couple more questions that can hopefully be answered for my clarity.
1. I downloaded 4.4.2 from sammobile, i'm assuming it's stock and won't trip knox.
2. Is there a certain version of Odin I should use as to again, not trip knox.
3. Once I root on 4.4.2, is there a vanilla version of a ROM w/ TW that I can install to retain most functionality that i've gotten used to?

Use the downloads from the thread, not sammobile. You cannot trio knox as far as i know on the att model. Ya tbere are a few roms, theyre all touchwiz based due to the fact that its the only roms you can flash since the bootloader is locked, just check the att s5 android development section and pick your favorite.

What I meant was finding a legit stock ROM. I can't seem to locate any here on this site unless i'm really making a fool of myself. I'm trying to downgrade my phone to 4.4.2 and towelroot it. Then find a good rom for 4.4.4. I have no problem installing a TW ROM. There's just so much information and so many ROM's it's difficult to narrow down a process for my specific resolution. I do appreciate the patience so far and thanks again for more info! Also, do you know which verison of Odin I should grab?
bump up.
You'd better ask in the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5 forum for more support.
I found this by snooping around a little more.

Hi. I'm using the Note 3 model name SM-N900. The Russia Rom N900XXUEBOA6 is running on my phone. It is stock rom from Sammobile. It is an Exynos device.
I kept searching for the rooting method, but I feel not sure about those. Could you guys give me a link if it was discussed before? Or let me know how to root and links for required files.
Also, I want to keep my app data. I don't want to wipe it all.
Thanks.
