Adding beats audio files won't help as the old from m7 wouldn't really work with m8 as the m8 has due to s801 SoC other audio/sound files...it was already tried by the awesome sound mod created Zeroinfinity and he clearly said it won't work...

Yep like I said the files from beats audio which are present in m7 and older devices with beats audio won't work with m8 as some necessary libs and files aren't there...and because those libs are closed source we can't compile on our own those files

I created an updated script and flashed but there is no noticeable difference. Guess it's just cosmetic. Going to stick with the hk.

Boomsound and beats audio is actually the same, both are just SRS WOW effect. You wont notice any changes in sound..its just another logo, not more..

Arriving about a year after the M7, with the latest Snapdragon and a slightly larger display to match the current competition, who'd have thought?

Damn. If it has the tap to wake feature, I'm seriously considering changing my N5 order to the M8. That and the lack of wireless charging we're pretty much the only things holding me back.

That's all good, but how about in the OS? Speed is a big deal to me, and if there is even a slightly noticeable difference I'd notice
And what about your aforementioned concerns about unlocking the device?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Like I said before, I didn't mean that I was concerned. I meant that the ease in which it unlocks is more important to me than locking it, and with the double tap feature it's very very easy to unlock it. As far as speed goes, other than the boot up speed, I don't notice any difference. Doesn't mean that you wouldn't, but I didn't.

Looks like about a 30% increase. HTC said that they have a "feature" in the Developer Settings on the skinned version (and maybe this one) that increases performance in benchmarks. Did you check this? It comes enabled by default.

Would the double-tap-to-wake feature accidently wake the phone while it's in the pocket?
The phone could move around & wakes itself up, i.e. wasting battery?

The m8 gpe and sense use different kernels... For example you can't use the gpe elemental kernel on a sense ROM. Also when faux was developing his kernel for the m8.. The sense kernel worked with WiFi and gpe had WiFi issues that to my knowledge have yet to be solved.

Franco develops kernels for the nexus range. I have used them in the past.
Being Nexus kernels they are for GPE Only. He won't develop outside of that.
BTW.. the 300 requests have been exceeded.

W00T! I used Franco's kernel on my VZW Gnex up until two weeks ago when I got my M8. That kernel absolutely made the thing fly for a two year old phone. Plus I have his paid app so I got auto updates and access to all the tweaks in one simple format.

I'm really happy with ARHD 5.5 right now with Elemental kernel. If it's possible to use Franco with a sense ROM then I would give him a few weeks to iron out any bugs and then flash. But if not, I won't be too upset because I've got a pretty good thing going already.
