For those of you who ordered a GPE M8, when is it's estimated shipping date? Google says by April 15th, but that "by" makes me hope they could ship sooner.

Cool! How do you like it? Also, if you've had a Nexus 5, what do you think in contrast to that?

I love it. They kept the screen tap wake feature. I did have the nexus 5 and the M7. This phone is like they knocked boots. Totally worth it to me.

Damn. If it has the tap to wake feature, I'm seriously considering changing my N5 order to the M8. That and the lack of wireless charging we're pretty much the only things holding me back.

Awesome! Was it hard to lock it though? I'd expect it to still be difficult to lock with the button on the top. Also, when did you order it? Were you one of the first?

It seems like a great device!
But another thing:
Is there a noticeable difference in speed/quickness between this and your Nexus?

That's all good, but how about in the OS? Speed is a big deal to me, and if there is even a slightly noticeable difference I'd notice
And what about your aforementioned concerns about unlocking the device?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Like I said before, I didn't mean that I was concerned. I meant that the ease in which it unlocks is more important to me than locking it, and with the double tap feature it's very very easy to unlock it. As far as speed goes, other than the boot up speed, I don't notice any difference. Doesn't mean that you wouldn't, but I didn't.

Looks like about a 30% increase. HTC said that they have a "feature" in the Developer Settings on the skinned version (and maybe this one) that increases performance in benchmarks. Did you check this? It comes enabled by default.

Would the double-tap-to-wake feature accidently wake the phone while it's in the pocket?
The phone could move around & wakes itself up, i.e. wasting battery?

Put it in a case
Screen protector (make sure you actually take off the initial protectors before you put a screen protector)
WiFi to set up your Google account
Latex gloves if you don't want to put finger prints on it.
Pepper your angus
First thing to do is unlock bootloader, get a custom recovery and start flashing!
