If you buy an EVO 4g off craigslist for the price they are selling them for, you deserve it. I think it'd be cheaper to buy it on a new line for 199.99 and take the ETF.. LOL
all the ones around the atlanta area were for around $650... I think I can wait a week and get mine for $199.
However, I can't say it didn't cross my mind to bust out my check book.
I wish I could just put myself into a cryogenic sleep for 10 days.
... on a side note, that might be the nerdiest, most pathetic thing I've ever said.
There's more of a cost than just ETF, taxes, etc...
I got mine pretty cheap, cheaper than the $199 cost + ETF, so for me anyway I won at your logic..
Plus if you get one of the I/O phones, you get an extra $10 off your monthly cost (which they don't list it as a year or two year thing either...) because it's a dev phone.

where'd you get one for less then 199???????????/ tell me plzzzzzzz
people paying like 6bills heck even 7 are the dumb ones..
Someone here in Orange County was selling his boyfriend's for 350, he said he got it for a tech blog to review and just needed to get rid of it. Don't think they knew how much it really was worth. D;

$199 + ETF is not less than $199.
I myself am going a route that is not to be discussed on this forum... but I don't want to buy a phone for $450 + Taxes (around here it's roughly 10%), so in the end it'd have been close to $500. So instead of that, I paid less than $400 with a free month of service (including 4g, and the option to go the dev plan route later).
But yes, $600-700 is too much, but there's a decent amount of people out there with more money than time. Just like Wii, iPhone, etc.
I paid 500 for mine straight up, new in box. After having it a week I will say it was worth every penny! This is the device I have been waiting for all my life.
i'm excited for the phone, but you guys are like fiending for it... the device you've been waiting for all your life?
I got mine for $500. It is out for delivery right now. The anticipation is killing me!
None listed for my area but I can wait some people are flipping out to get it early

Same here. I'm not remotely eligible for upgrade yet, so I'd be paying $450 + tax for it anyway. $500 for the phone and getting in on the $10 off via the Google I/O dev deal is worth it!

Someone said Wirefly requires you keep data service for at least 6 months - not sure though - something to check into if you don't plan on keeping data.
I'll be pre ordering mine tomorrow! - Though its probably not necessary as lots of places near by will be getting them and I doubt there will be a huge amount of people waiting to get one at the current price - but just to be safe haha.

thats only for under contract deals. ive ordered from them before so i know the process. when you order a device at a subsidized price (lets say an evo) you can get it at a lower price than other places. At Sprint its on sale for 199 but if you get it at wirefly then its 149.99 with a 2 year contract. The thing is you have to have their service uninterrupted for 6 months or you pay an ETF. With something thats not in a contract you are only obligated for that one month and you are out of their hands.

Yeah that makes sense, I just thought I read that someone said Wirefly requires they own 2nd party contract for 6 months - I was glancing through quickly and didn't pay much attention though
Give them a call or live chat. You must keep the data plan for at least 6 months, or be charged $300 Wirefly ETF
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yeah, don't but from wirefly, they require a 6 month contract with no benefit to you. They probably don't even have them and just resell for verizon but get the activation credit, hence you having a contract.
Its unfortunate that there was no mention of that wifi model. Damn.

I'll call to ask about that 1 year contract. I bet there is a catch. Such as having to use a 50$ a month plan. I can't imagine they would give you 300$ off on the 20$ a month plan, as that would be only 120$ over the course of a year. Speaking of this. I would probably get a data plan permanently if they rolled data over.
You mean 240$?

$300 off the price? That's not a bad deal if you can get the $20/month plan. $500 + roughly $275 plus taxes over the course of 12 months versus $800 + $55 plus taxes all at once.
Reading from "Best Buy News" which I assume is something internal, the girl in mobile confirmed that only month-to-month data plans were available from Verizon at this time. She confirmed that they have ZERO word of any sort of 1 year or 2 year commitment or subsidy.

I guess nothing official has been sent out. The guy said he would have more information on the release date. Which is kind of weird!!!
Obviously with a contract, but that's kind of a given.
Does anybody think this will last? My family is switching to AT&T on July 7th or 8th, and I've had my eye on the Atrix for weeks already. Of course, the recent bootloader unlocking has made me even more anxious, but cash is pretty tight for me right now, and I'd gladly wait a while longer to save $100.
I'm new here, so I can't post a link, but it should be easy enough to find.
Thanks for the notice!!. Thanks to you I now has teh Atrix
Glad I could help!
I just hope it lasts long enough to get in on the deal myself. I haven't seen anything on the site that indicates that it's a sale or temporary promotion, but I can't imagine this lasting for two more weeks
Edit: Right after I posted this I saw the news update on Brief Mobile, which says the Atrix price is permanently dropped to $.01!!!
Does anybody know if you could get it at this price and use it as an upgrade? the $150 price for family upgrade is harsh.

Unfortunately it looks like the family upgrade price is still $150. Here's the rundown for the 6 choices:
New Customers
- Individual = .01
- Family = .01
Existing Customers
~Upgrade
- Individual = 30.00
- Family = 150.00
- Add a Line = .01
Replacement
- 600.00
I'm a little surprised (while at the same time, not at all) that's how AT&T handles upgrades. Verizon always upgraded us for the "new contract" prices on our family plan. Kinda makes me not look forward to 2 years from now
I want to get one for my g/f. Her contract is up today. Can't I change our acct to individual, buy the phone, then change it back to family next week or something?
Wow this is crazy, why couldn't they have done this like 3 months ago? Oh well can't complain too much I still got it for half the price AT&T wanted when I got mine from Amazon in March. Good find, always good to help people find out awesome things like this bring more people to the best phone I've ever owned.
Since no one is posting about it, do know that Amazon will leverage an additional $250 early termination fee if you terminate service in the first 6 months.
I figured I'd post just in case anyone was planning on buying just to terminate early and get the phone for less than the ~$500 it retails for off contract.

You can do that? We went to the store the other day to ask some questions about it and they gave us some bull about how AT&T pays Amazon the difference or some nonsense.
So is it only at some stores? Or even employees?
Why should AT&T price match Amazon? Doesn't make any sense to me. Amazon's price isn't a discount, it is levying an additional contract on top of the one you sign with the carrier. Someone is paying them to do it, my guess is the carriers.
It's not like we're talking a major price difference here, why screw someone to get that price?
Just found this deal. Unlocked for $599, best price I have found. Anyone dealt with this place before?

Be careful...they use to be called "Exoticphones.com"
I'd be careful too...
How can they offer a discount with an ATT plan????
Seems suspicious to me...but good luck if you go with it!
Im only guessing here but I bet a phone vendor could sign you up for ATT with any phone, like an iPhone. Then turn around and sell that iPhone at retail to another person. But give you the 2 year discount on the Note.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Vendor signs you up for a new 2 year contract with at&t. They choose iphone 4s as your new phone. They keep the 4s and sell it for like $600 bucks. They are then able to offer you the note for $599
I would cut the middle man out and just do it yourself if you don't already have an at&t contract or are not in upgrade status.

Did you order for $599, or did you do the contract? If legit, the contract is very tempting.

The contract is only $200 cheaper. If you instead extend your contract with buying an iphone 4s, you'll come out far ahead. You'll pay $200 (instead of $400) and you can sell it on ebay for $600 at least then use that money for the Note. So in effect the iphone route is at least $200 cheaper for the same end result. That is assuming this is legit, and ignoring ebay fees (use craigslist.)

I also just called them up. I work in NYC and they seem to offer local pickup, so what better way to see if they actually have it in stock then to walk over there...The person that answered said it was out of stock and due back in, in about 2 weeks.
When I pressed for a more specific date, he just said he wasn't sure, but about 2 weeks.
...All kinds of red flags here.

Thanks. I was partially looking at it as a convenience issue (not having to deal with reselling, no fees, no uncertainty of what it ultimately sells for), but you're right, $200, or even $100, is a big chunk for convenience. But ultimately, it's not very convenient if "electropirise" screws you over.

Just wanted to make everyone aware that Amazon is selling Notes for $660 shipped. That is the cheapest I've seen ANYWHERE on the web. I picked one up today through amazon, fulfilled by the oem shop.

I completely agree with you. Early adopters know what pitfalls they are in for. Whether early software bugs or full retail price at launch, there is a cost associated with being first to the table. I feel no remorse about jumping in head first, do so every year. Sammy is out to make a profit and they got my sold without saying much.

Lmao you're like me, Samsung has me opening my wallet every year and they don't even have to do much. I always trade in so it never really hurts me because I put 50 dollars a month away towards the next phone and just put 50 dollars into the savings account on the 1st just this month when I pay most of my bills. There's some of us who just have to be first in line and we could care less about the price usually but I could see how it would bother some people though because when I was ordering at the time I wanted to see what the price was without the trade in and the phone itself was 1,299 without the military discount and after taxes it was almost 1,500 dollars so I'm guessing not many people have that much to dump right now. All in all it was worth it to me I love this thing but there's too many people nit picking about stupid crap such as the battery but with the speed this thing charges at its like no big deal.

I'm not entirely mad myself. It happens with tech, even video games. discounts happen due to poor first month or first week sales. I still made out with the sudo BOGO($1000 off 2nd phone) deal with Verizon since I switch both my lines. Then again we'll see in the next few weeks how much the gap closes in on me.
If you received yours late and are still in the 14 day window you can price match. I ended up getting an even better deal by getting it late. All discounts, free accessories, cancel credit and price match!
