My biggest problem with this lock screen is many.
If I want to use the finger print part of the lock screen I have to use the stock lock screen. Not to big of a deal BUT...
No widget support
No notifications on lock screen.
Two much other wording all over the lock screen. Instead of showing alternative password how about hide it until my finger print is wrong. Instead of emergency call hide it until I need it. Why scroll Verizon Wireless on the left bottom.
This is Kit Kat were is widget support and notifications??????

I absolutely agree with I don't get why it gives me three choices to unlock my phone from the bat rather than wait for me to get my fingerprint wron

This is why AOSP is the way to go. Screw Touchwiz and all that crap. Can these OEMs stop shipping devices with there UI skin and just give us the real android experience. Lets make all the phones like Nexus devices.

let's hope this is the correct place to post this
I got the international galaxy S and I really hated the Samsung unlock screen
is it possible to replace it with the vanilla stock one ? and how ?
I use launcher pro so I don't mind losing touchwiz anyway
I'm running on a rooted device
and thank you
I am very curious about this too.
Would really like to have the stock unlock screen that also has the 'silent mode' option when you swipe from right to left instead.
seems like either nobody knows or nobody cared to try it
there are programs to change the lock screen , but nothing is like the real thing
Truth to be told you have 2 options.
1. Use samsungs lock screen, it has missed call/sms/blah notifications on it, and also music player controls.
2. Use pattern lock, it's the same as stock then.
I am using samsung's lock screen now , so that's not an alternative option XD
but I'd like to have the stock one .. love it >.<
and pattern lock .. it's awful trying to unlock it while driving [tried it XD]
as far as i know, widgetlocker lets you unlock your screen with vanilla sliders!

It has other features like widgets on your lock screen, sounds like a promising app, you should try it out and see if it fits your needs!
widget locker is great. try it

I tried it , but what bothered me is that you can't lift the unlock slider upward (the real one is kinda higher) and what was more annoying is you can edit the widgets from the lock screen , meaning you just by mistake keep on holding a widget and it moves
again , here I don't just want the look , I actually wanted to see if it's possible to change the apk , switch it from the touchwiz to the real stock apk file (if it exists)
You can switch from the Widget Locker unlock slider to the standard Android one in the settings, but you lose a line of widget/shortcut space. You can also make the unlock slider the Sense or iPhone one if that's your thing. You can also disable editing widgets while locked.
Widget Locker is worth the purchase really, it's cheap and does what you want.
Who else thinks the lock screen is a little girly? Is there a way to change it once rooted? I guess we need a custom recovery first

Yea I don't like the lock screen variations too much. I am on the glass one, but still don't like it too much. Too used to stock android I guess.
I think the puzzle one is pretty cool, with the other puzzle pieces popping up as notifications.
I put it on the pattern lock and that took care of the puzzle pieces, but it also took away the music controls that slide down from the top while the screen is locked.

Wow, did not notice the music controls on lock screen until now thanks alot lol
Woot I didn't even find the music control last night lol. Figured out that it was because I was using Eliot 's music mod, the older 2.1 version.
Tried the stock music player, and hold and behold, had the pull down on the lock screen.
Thanks again.
I really like the notification puzzle pieces. So nice to be able to use those to go straight to the message. I just wish it would show a preview of the message under the puzzle piece or something.
I would like the stock android lock, or something other than glass and the puzzle. The puzzle lost its cuteness after playing with the phone for 10 minutes. The glass is acceptable, but something better would be nice. Is it possible to download new lock screens?

Check out Widget Locker in the Market. Cost a couple bucks, but it's definitely worth it. You can customize your lock screen with widgets, custom sliders, and lots of other things.
i succesfully got rid of the pattern locked on a costumers cellular phone. I try this on 2 other phones and it works perfectly.
The Zinc custom ROM has the Vanilla lock screen and I'm so happy.

Here's an idea. Like the way we pull down the notification bar, at the lock screen, we pull down our home screen or last used app to unlock.
Technically, I have thought of one possible way doing it. Using widget locker, place a widget at the top of the screen, it looks like a bar or an arrow pointing downwards. It takes a snapshot of the screen when the phone is locked or screen timeout (probably widgetlocker locked intent broadcasted?). You pull it down to a certain point, while showing the snapshot last taken, and tell widget locker to unlock (widgetlocker unlock intent - are there any?).
So that's my idea and with very little chance I will developed it (cuz I don't know how!). Hopefully someone will take this concept and developed it and/or anwser a few technical questions:
1. How to take screenshots and uses it in the program?
2. How to determine is it pulled down to.a certain point, especially to support different screen sizes?
3. How to use only 1 row of widget space but pull it across a screen?

I just downloaded wp7 lock and I must say that my concept is similar to wp7 lock, but entirely reversed. Pulling down instead of up, and pulling home screen instead of lock screen.

Hey all.
Does anybody have any idea how you change/remove widgets from the lock screen?
I'm using knock knock code, I have the large clock in the top half but wanted to change it to a calendar.
I can't for the life of me work out how your do this!
Anybody got any idea?
Thanks.

Swipe the clock widget to the right, then swipe back to the clock/unlock screen. Then you will be able to long-press on the clock and remove it. Then you'll see 'tap to add widgets' and you can choose the calendar.
Yeah, Ive tried that, It just does this lol.
Try it without Knock Code (with swipe).
Yip, Tried that ... Same thing ..
Trying to work out what the arrow at the bottom is for, it dont see to do anything.
I never even used to have the knock knock cope option, I updated my phone via the support tool, I have the knock know code but cant change the lock screen widget. I mean even when im on the lock screen i used to be able to swipe right to start the camera and now i cant even do that.
I'm thinking something has been changed in the update, Can anybody on the same build as me confirm they can still swipe from the lock screen to start the camera app and change lock screen widgets? ... Its definitely different than before.
Try using swipe lock screen and lock your device. Then wake the device. Swipe down on the clock. Then press and hold the widget. You should then have the ability to remove it. If you have no other lock screen widget, you will end up with a huge + giving you the option to add another widget. If this doesn't work (it should), reboot and try again.

It wont budge, Before if i had a pin code at the lock screen set i could just swipe the pin code area down, It then ask me for my pin, I could then long press the clock and a option to "remove" would be at the top of my screen, When the widget area was blank i would see a large + sigh, I could tap this and be given a number of widgets i could put there!
The clock just wont budge now no matter what i try!
Same Deal Here
Ever since the update, it seems I can't remove the default clock widget either. Swiping down does bring up the arrow (just as it used to) but it won't stay on long enough to long press the clock (as soon as you take your finger off it goes back to normal). I'm going to do some experimenting with WidgetLocker, see if I can't get it back to where I want it (obviously figuring this out would be ideal, but I'm starting to wonder if it's possible anymore. I've seen articles about enabling widgets, but haven't found what they're telling me to look for).
Edit: Got it figured out. It turns out I had somehow turned off the lockscreen widgets & disabled the feature through Secure Settings.

Don't know if you've been back to this thread but changing Secure Settings settings worked for me.
I'm on the latest RR, 5.3.8. Finger print function works, but there's no addition settings available to do other things once the phone is unlocked (gravitybox added some additional functionality, but no xposed in 7).
I've tried several apps that let you configure additional functions to the finger print once unlocked. The entry i'm using is 'toggle notifications'. This works, but seems to add significant lag when unlocking the phone, requiring at least 2 taps to unlock.
Any thoughts or suggestions for achieving this? Ideally it'd be nice to do a slow double tap - first to unlock, second to toggle the notification without having to move my finger from the back to the front.
hello try to download the NExt lockscreen in Play store..work wonders for me...
Is this app similar to widget locker from years past?
I don't know if I want a full blown lock screen replacement. When I did have widgetlocker instsalled, i used the same apps as were on the home screen. Layout was very similar. Really all I want to do is use the fingerprint reader as another button. It's far more convenient to tap it once unlocked than to move fingers to the front of the phone to swipe the status bar down.
