I want to use PIE control instead. Is there some kind of build.prop mod or something that hides the nav bar?
Might be worth going for a custom ROM that has PIE. All you then have to do is switch to Expanded Desktop and there you have it!?
You'll find many ROMs that do PIE. There is also a launcher that does that, it's called LMT Launcher. You will find it here on XDA.

I don't want to flash a whole new ROM. I just want the PIE control and nav bar removal. PIE control has a Play Store app so I don't need to flash that but I know there has to be some kind of simple mod to remove the nav bar.
Ah, ok, didn't realize there was an app for it.
How about this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780970

It seems to force tablet UI, but the nav bar still remains. I know there was a way to make the nav bar appear for the Note 2 so there has to be a way to hide the nav bar for the Nexus 7.
download LMT launcher, it's been around longer than PIE has and doesn't require any specific rom...

you can go into google playstore and search for PieControl Pro. There is a free version and a pro version for $1.99

So can this hide the nav bar?
Flash ParanoidAndroid ROM it has built in PIE navigation in Quick Settings so when you tap on it your navigation bar hides and PIE control activates and if you are worried about Tablet UI you can turn it off any time you want. =)

are you on the stock rom? not sure if LMT can hide the navigation menu. you may as well just flash any other rom since almost every other rom lets you hide the navigation menu anyways. LMT is also way more customizable than PIE.
At the end of build prop add
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
Save and exit, I don't believe it works on stock rom though but I could be wrong.
I use this on roms that don't have it built in navbar hide built in, and I use lmt launcher, because I prefer it to pie.

Hey guys.
I want a 4.4 rom for my Nexus 4 that has the customisable navigation bar (allow 4 buttons, Back, Home, AppSwich, and Permanent Menu ) and a proper battery percentage Icon. Other customisation is always welcome but those two are the things that I want most in the rom.
Are there any 4.4 roms out there that have these features (see attached for example of what I have currently).
Install xposed beta.. The gravity box module has the option to add menu in the nav bar

Hey guys. Running the stock 4.4 ROM on the d800, and Im wondering if there is a way to disable the Google Now swipe up gesture. I have installed the compatible Xposed that was floating around briefly, and while some mods didnt work, hiding the Navbar through G2 Xposed did. This allowed me to go back to using LMT, but the damn gesture is throwing everything off since i keep it on the bottom.
Any mods out there I can try? Tried Google Now Swipe Disabler app, and while it stops the program from launching - the gesture still takes over what i want to be LMT.
Thanks!
Just a heads up.. I got it worked out by using the g2 tweaks module and disabling ring pad. Easier than expected.

Hey guys, I tried every exposed module that offer immersive mode, but the on-screen keys are persistent and don't go away when typing. Any idea how to hide them only when typing? I tried force immersive mode on Swype but our didn't work.

I desperately want a way to do this. I wonder if it is possible with Xposed or Tasker or something to that effect. To just hide it whenever the keyboard opens. I hate hitting home when I'm going for the space bar!
Edit: Ultimate Dynamic Navbar functions well enough, although I would still prefer an alternative!

Guys as you can see from the screenshot, I activated the PiP button during Android N DP. Now the options to customize the Nav Bar are gone from System UI tweaker. So I can't remove the button. Is there any way? Please share any knowledge regarding the issue. Thanks! (I'm on 8.1 beta)
Installed Custom Nav Bar app from Play store. Still working with 8.1. I think it might help.
I tried custom nav bar app half an hour ago. If I keep the app activated then the button does go away. And the back and recent buttons come a little closer to the center. If I deactivate the app, everything is back the way it was at first, the button comes back. Is there any permanent solution?
It's not pip button.. it's the cast icon
