I'm not sure if this is a known thing or not, but its just a little exploit I found out. When registering your 3 fingerprints tou have to swipe 8 times or so. You can register every finger and have room to spare with this method I found out. When registering prints swipe one finger 2 times then move onto a new one. Repeat until all fingers are used. Now you can un lock your phone using any finger.
Ex for registering.
FINGERPRINT 1: Swipe Thumb 2 times, Swipe Index Finger 2 times, Middle Finger 2 times, Ring Finger 2 times. (Not fully sure if you need to have it swiped 2 times or if 1 will work as well, 2 has seemed to work without flaws) Now you have 1 Print registered but in reality 4 have been registered.
Another quick tip is that you can swipe your thumb sideways, or at just the right angle, on the scanner so you can now unlock your phone with one hand. This is a bit tricky since you have to swipe your thumb in just the right spot.

Nice tip, you can also register your thumb and a few fingers in all directions for awesome accuracy

I cant seem to get it to unlock one handed with my thumb kinda annoying

Try swiping your thumb twice straight down and then angled 45 degrees then horizontal, it registers one handed much better after that. If not, do variations with the other three fingerprints and try it in all directions.

S5 finger scanner
Just tried all my fingers with one scan, in one finger registration. Even scanned each finger once upside down.
Awesome tip! This helps a ton!

From what I understand, there are only 10 copies of the registered fingerprints.
I was hoping we could do at least 3 different fingers, each at 3 angles (-45,0,45) on each of 3 sides of the screen (left, bottom, right).
Is this not the case?
This is awesome! Would have never guessed. Works on the Note 4 too.
This work really well thank for the tip

If you have been annoyed by the zoom bug caused by placing your wrist on the bottom right quadrant of your screen as you write using S-Notes here is a simple solution.
1) Pinch the screen to resize to 100%.
2) Tap the screen once with your pen.
3) Start writing - zoom issue solved.

At what point do you put your hand on the tablet on your 3 step fix? After step 2?

Wouldnt it be saved as an image file rather than a note file? That means u cant re edit it? Am i right?

If you find the tablet zooming on you when you place your wrist on it simply lift your hand, pinch the zoom back to 100%, then without placing your hand down again simply tap the screen once with the tip of the pen. This should solve the zooming issue for that session. Afterwards just write normally.

I posted something similar to this. But all I do is before I start writing place the pen close the screen then rest my palm.

The single tap thing works better in that you don't need to keep worrying about it.

but if you tap the screen with you pen you actually write a dot, isn'it?
Yep. One dot. You only have to do it once.

Hi all
Apparently you can swipe between pages in chrome on nexus 7 but for the life of me I can't get this to work, anyone else have trouble doing this?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
Start from off screen and swipe in, otherwise it will think you are just trying to pan around the current page.
Yeah swipe from the very edge. Also you don't need to swipe. Just move your finger from the very edge towards the centre of the screen as fast or as slow as you like to swipe through multiple pages.

Nah not happening for me, think it's because mine is in a case and covers the edge

I say bin chrome and install the stock browser, go into settings>labs and switch on the quick controls. Really smart, it gives you full screen internet, and you get your controls by gently moving your finger in from outside of the screen border. It's really smart, and quick once you're used to it.
That and the fact that it loads pages noticeably a good bit faster than chrome...

Im used to chrome now.....kinda like it
Why?
I mean... sometimes it response on two knocks and sometimes i need four or more....
Have you seen the same ?
Yep, it's pretty normal.
I assume with it being a new feature it's not properly optimized properly if thats right word for it.
If LG get their ass into gear we may see a fix for it. And I mean IF.
No, but i have noticed a trick with it. If you put your hand over the top area of the screen, and then try to knock on. It will not work no matter what until you move your hand. I believe it is a sensor.

Try slow double tap or fast triple tap, it goes better for me
Try it at center of your screen
Sent from my LG-D802 using xda app-developers app
I feel if you "face" the device and tap it works all the time.
I have noticed the same thing across the top bar. I thought it was the camera controlling it, but it is just that my finger was barely on the screen itself. So far a great feature!!

Yes the feature is one of the reasons I bought the G2. I'm always thinking I'm going to wear out the power button. LoL
Sent from my LG-D801 using xda app-developers app
tapping at the top of the screen where the status/notification bar would be works 100% of the time. at least for me.
I knock 3x. Works all the time
Thanks for the double at the top of the screen hint - works great now
What's worse is accidentally switching on the screen by simply handling the phone and it recognizing your "handling" as knock ons.
Yes, the proximity sensor will keep it from working. Since i have been more aware of this it works much better. Even if i have the phone in landscape and have my thumb on the slightest edge of the screen it will not work. U dont have to be over it. Just close will keep it from working.

hi guys
i just bought samsung gakaxy note 3 N9000 (exynos version) 2 days ago and i noticed something weird with the stylus
there is a certain area of the screen (to the right exactly) that the stylus doesn't write properly i need to press hard on this area when i try to write or scroll and sometimes it doesn't write even if i pressed hard
any ideas what could be the problem??!!!
the finger touches work normally only the stylus
i tried to record it but all screen recorders require rooting and i don't want to root this phone now
i took a screen capture by "Screen Write " feature with the air command .... you can see clearly the area that has no Red lines in the right of the screen
thnx all
Looks like a defect

thank you for your answer :good:
the problem solved by removing the case
i read on another forum that some types of cases interfere with the magnetic field of the stylus
weird :silly::silly:
i removed the case and the stylus is working fine now all over the screen

Do you have a case with a magnet?
Regards,
Dave
EDIT: Didn't see last part in thread! Doh!

ya the Problem was With the magnet in The Case
Sadly I had to cut throw the leather of The Case To remove the magnet
from inside
Better Than discarding the whole case
Thank you all for your answers :thumbup::thumbup:

I tested mine out. Smooth all the way left to right top to bottom. Effortlessly registered.

Any case with a magnetic latch causes this problem, happened to me in note 2 .that area of the screen is exactly where the flip cover magnet button is when the the case gets turned on itself

Hey guys I have 4 fingerprints saved for my screenlock. I successfully added all 10 fingerprints on my hand. Havent tried feet lol. All you have to do is setup a fingerprint and instead of doing 1 fingerptint 10 times you can switch fingers. Meaning you can do 10 different fingerptints in 1 setup where it asks you to scan. Thought id share for those who want to do Right and Left index and thumb fingerprints.
