Bad display? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm seeing this on my screen today. Anyone know why? Everything still functional.

Yep, it could be. Get a warranty replacement.

Would they honor it if I don't have the receipt?
Sent from my LG-D800 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I would say to try out another ROM and check if its still happening before hand... And usually the warranty is based on imei (at least in Canada) they don't particularly care for receipts here....
Although if you are rooted you would have to go back to stock because they might invalidate your warranty because you tampered with the system...

Hard bricked phone

Hi everybody. I have hard bricked my phone. I have a warranty with best buy. Can I bring it to them or they will know that I root it

I'd check your warranty to see if it's still under warranty since you rooted it. If it doesn't turn on it'll be hard to see anything.
Mine also hard bricked. Sent it back to samsung for repair, no issues other then the almost 4 week turnaround.

So you got your phone back with no issues?

No issues at all. They placed my pcm board I think it was

AT&T Device Support Center will just swap out the phone.
I will bring it back for warranty

I would try an get the one you have running, will it even get into d/l mode? Reason I say this, you are taking a chance on getting a MF3 version replacement, and then, you may get a device that is bootlocked until a fix is created.
lets try and fix what you have.
Thanks
Why I buy accidental damage warranties on phones: if all else fails, break the screen and get a replacement.

Using an Accidental Insurance claim for an Accident? Sounds like a real problem. Can you say, "oops, my bad." I wouldn't be posting that here either.

Does it matter where I purchase the n7 at Walmart, etc

Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
Given the QC issues that may not appear immediately or within most stores' return time frame, I'd say the PlayStore, as they'll advance ship you a replacement when (not if) you have a problem.
Is it alright to purchase from bestbuy. Thsnks!!!

So long as, after their return period, you don't mind dealing with ASUS directly, and their painful (experience speaking here) warranty process. As opposed to getting your replacement before you send your Nexus, you send it to them and wait a couple of weeks.
Your choice. I'm not making that mistake again..... Ever....

All depends on the service after you buy it. That's what matters.

Got mine at Best Buy, no issues and they price matched.
Walmart, they have a 3 month return policy, whereas best buy has a 14 day return policy and will ban you from returns.

[Q]LG-LS980 (Sprint) unrooting indicator

I've been searching the forums trying to find out if ill be able to take my device in to have it serviced once rooted. I know ill have to unroot it first, but will the people at sprint be able to tell if its been rooted like the verizon varient?
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I unrooted mine the other day and no they shouldn't be able to. unless mine was just a freak accident . I would wait and let someone else back me up on this.

The good thing about Sprint is the majority of techs don't even care if it's rooted. I know I sure as hell don't! What are you bringing it in for?

The device is fine right now, this is just a precaution. I've had techs of both persuasions pro and anti rooting... Im coming from the E4GT on sprint and the only problems i had were hardware issues... No SD slot here so i see this breaking for a software issue? Am i wrong to think this?

Warranty.

Htc has a new warranty that includes 1 cracked screen replacement. How can we exhort Sammy to do the same for Us?
I highly doubt we can.

Downgrade option from kitkat

All is not lost if you want to go back to jellybean. As long as you are still under Samsung warranty you can go to a at&t with a service center and exchange it . Just make up any good reason and they will give you a new one. It is refurbished but it is a downgrade option.

I did this, but they didn't give me a refurbished one. The person told me that they get the replacements brand new from the factory.
They are ALL refurbished phones...

This is technically supporting and condoning warranty fraud.
Not allowed or condoned here at XDA.
What happened to cracking stuff open and doing it ourselves, now you want to screw a company just to downgrade...
It's sickening. Thread reported.

Well, I certainly don't think it can be put any better than this ^.
And he's absolutely correct. Thread closed.
